Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Tanya Crosbie Photography

What type of product or service do you offer?
Portrait and wedding photography

How long have you been in business?
2 years

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
My current name is Giggles and Smiles Photography. This was great to start with as my focus was children. But, it is time for the company to "grow up" and include weddings. I am moving my home based business to a studio so it is a good time to make a complete overhaul of the name and image.

What are your long term goals?
Grow the business to include multiple photographers covering high end portraiture, weddings and schools

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
March 15th - I have a very tight deadline so sooner is better!

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Our key clients are those that understand and value beautiful photography. They are people that are looking for stylish and contemporary portraits. They see photography as equivalent to the art they hang on their walls.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
We would like to attract more of the above.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something contemporary and stylish, but possibly with a subtle element of fun. Nothing too silly as we are targeting the high end of the market. I know this is a difficult request, but I have seen some great work here on the website. Keep in mind the old "less is more" motto.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Tiffany blue and chocolate brown. The blue is an energetic colour while being soft in lighter shades. The chocolate brown is strong and masculine. The only problem is so far I have found the chocolate brown to just look like black in print. Any suggestions?

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
The logo should reflect high quality, contemporary style with a dash of fun.

What is your tagline or slogan?
none

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
We are a portrait studio that will capture the precious moments of their lives through stylish and contemporary portraits in a fun and relaxed environment.

Where will your new logo be used?
business cards, letterhead, bags, folders, etc

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
see below

List competitive URLs if possible
www.cantrellportrait.com (not a competitor but I like her look)
www.marknixon.com (great minimalist contemporary look, but possibly too plain for me)
www.photogenic.ie (one of the most successful studios in the country)
http://rhynamccarthy.com (beautiful, clean look, but not so stark like Mark Nixon)

What sets you apart from your competitors?
I am a mom and relate very easily to other moms and children. I stay on the cutting edge of display options for portraits and the latest styles and trends.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Stylish and elegant, yet fun, photography.

Thank you Artemii for your submission. But, I would like to stick with the colours: Tiffany blue and Chocolate brown. I know brown can end up looking black, so Tiffany blue, a lighter shade of the blue and white are another option. Also, the graphic is not along the lines I was thinking. The font is along the right lines.

Thank you,
Tanya

Thank you to all the designers for so many fabulous designs! It was very hard to choose.

I am leaning towards thinkkre8tiv's design if we can tweak it a bit.

I like the two tones in the name, but the colours are not quite what I am going for. The main colour blue is RGB: 32,177,176. I am not sure what blue to use as the other tone.

Is it possible to have the squares seperate from the name? Sometimes I would want to use them and sometimes not. I might want them above or next to the name, etc.

Let me know what you come up with.

Kind regards,
Tanya

Hi Bart,

I prefer the word "photography" in brown. Also the frames looked better with the brown and maybe the darker blue. The brighter blue looks a bit neon. Is that the Tiffany blue? What is the font you used?

Do you know the name of the font skyvee used? I might use something like that in a later project.

Kind regards,
Tanya
