Hi,

We need a 6 x 8.5 postcard with color on both sides. I am using Modern Postcard www.modernpostcard.com for my printing and mailing.

The name of my company is the Gregory Diamond Company and we import diamonds and supply jewelry stores across the country. We carry all sizes and shapes of loose diamonds and diamond earrings.

The purpose of this postcard is to remind our customers of all the reasons they like us and to get them keep us in mind for their diamond needs

Here are some things I would like to convey

Importers and wholesalers of loose diamonds.
We import from Antwerp, India and Israel

We carry all shapes, sizes and qualities of diamonds at great prices

Password protected searchable diamond database w/images

in business 11 years

accurate representation of merchandise

A high level of personalized service

our website www.gregorydiamond.com

Our commitment to the independent retailer

The beauty and fine cut of our diamonds

Over 20 years of experience serving the retail jeweler (11 as Gregory diamond)

Overnight shipping available

Our toll free number needs to be easy to see 1-800-792-4734

We are located in Glen Ellyn, Il (23 miles west of Chicago) but 99% of my business is done through the mail, on the Internet and over the phone so location is not that important. I do like the Chicago association as well as the Midwest association.

I have attached my logo, you can find out more at www.gregorydiamond.com

Please feel free to do whatever you think looks nice, I hate our current design (except the logo) and am open.

Thanks

Greg

Good Morning,

The problem I have is all the imaging we do is for the web so the resolutions are low.

Here is one, I will add more later today.

We also need to have our slogan on it

"An honest approach to diamonds"

I figure telling you a little more about the company would probably help.

I am an importer of diamonds and my customers are retail jewelry stores across the country. We supply them with the diamonds they sell to consumers.

We carry all sizes and all shapes of loose diamonds in a wide range of qualities and price points and all of our diamonds are fine cuts.

We are a very technology friendly company. All of our business is conducted over the phone, Internet.

We are an honest educated source that works hard to be an asset to our customers.

Let me know if there is anything else you folks need. I’m excited! J

very cool Lala,

Can we make the logo black?

What if we add a large cratered moon shining down and change the line "an honest approach to diamonds" to something about beauty and nature?

Greg

I'd also like the name of the company to be bigger and the "Importers and wholesalers of loose diamonds" To be changed to "Importers of fine diamonds" and made smaller

Thanks!

Lets try something a little different.

Can we remove the moon and have the diamond rise on the horizon like the sun?

daybreak on the water under the star filled sky?

Thanks to both of you for your submissions! I think you both did nice work and I appreciate it!

This is my first time here and it will take me a while to get the hang of things. If there is anything I should be doing to help you along please let me know.

Thank you!!

hi Greg,

I'm still working on your idea of the diamond and your wonderful daybreak idea. :) If you have a high resolution image of you diamonds that would be most helpful, if not it's okay. I'm just worried though that since I'm not an expert at diamonds I might come up with a stock photo of a diamond that isn't top quality. :)

I will be posting again soon.

Greg,

Here is a version with your beautiful "daybreak" concept...

Note: please see previous message for the new version

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the comments, it's a pleasure designing your postcard. Diamonds are a lovely subject to work with and your concepts are very creative.

I also love the diamonds as shooting stars but I think that the daybreak concept with a brilliant diamond as a solitary figure gives more of a sense of "prominence". The diamond as a sun concept somehow I think figuratively translates to your business' dominance in the industry. :) So personally, I think the sun concept is better.

Although I think daybreak is more of the yellows and reds, but these colors would compete with the diamond. I think the blue also blends very well with the dreaminess of the concept.

Lala

Hi,

I really like your work so far, thanks.

what do you think about having the diamonds be shooting stars that sit on the water?

Or do you think the sun I dea was better?

I love that horizon you used.

hi Greg,

You are welcome and thank you for picking my design. I guess our next steps would be to finalize the text for the postcard and specify any other minor changes you would like made on the design.

Once we finalize everything, I will be sending a link to the high resolution file. i will also be reviewing the guidelines ModernPostcard.com has for submitting designs.

Thanks again.

Hi Greg,

I hope this monday morning greets you with something beautiful to look at. :)

I have sent a private message with the link to the prepress files (355 dpi, cmyk) with the changes you requested. Please go to the following link to find the message http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/private.php?

Kindly note that I also made some changes of my own (shrinked the pics on the back and moved the tagline to the top of the card on the back) after going through the printing guidelines and mailing restrictions set by Modern Postcard.

Modern Postcard recommends sending them a print out from your end so that they can match the colors as closely as possible. You can do this by printing it on your desktop printer and mailing it to them. This is also an opportunity for you too to let me know if you find the colors too dark and too light, too blue, too yellow, etc. and then I can make the necessary adjustments.

Kindly let me know if I have everything in order or if you have problems opening the files. Thanks.

Lala
