Looking for a logo for a golf course. You may go to our current website, wolfcreekgc.com, to get an idea of one of our existing logos. We are looking for something that is more dynamic and / or humorous that uses a wolf or wolves in the theme. It does not necessarily need to include golf images. The new logo may be used for shirts and hats or for the website.

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Could be a variety or variation of the following:
WCGC
Wolf Creek
Wolf Creek Golf Club

What type of product or service do you offer?

High End Daily Fee Public Golf Course

How long have you been in business?
5 years

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
We would like to add a different logo to some of our apparel products. Possibly replace the old logo with a new one.

What are your long term goals?
To create a unique identity for our golf course.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?

April 10

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Most of our audience is male with a high degree of disposable income.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Women

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
We would like a logo that emphasized the wild nature of wolves, either alone or running in packs. The logo does not have to include golf images. Although a humerous / creative integration of a wolf swinging a club or attacking a golfer could have a place on certain apparel.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
From our website, wolfcreekgc.com you will notice, we use a lot of teal and blues. Althought these colors appeal to us, we are interested in different ideas.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Wolves, alone, howling, running in packs, running through a stream.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
That we are a singular golf experience with the opportunity to be a natural setting.

What is your tagline or slogan?
We really don't have a slogan.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Wild, daring, extreme, difficult, fun

Where will your new logo be used?
Logo will be used for apparel and possibly new club identity

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Our competitors generally use safe quiet images for their courses.

List competitive URLs if possible
www.cannongate.com

What sets you apart from your competitors?

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Risk taking

I pasted in the questions and changed the Due Date in the tag line. But the Due Date has not shown up in the forum. Can you help me get this to look right ?

Took a look at your website and realized your course is only 15 minutes from where I live! Here's my take on it:

This is a good start but the use of the wolf is too small. Also, the small size of the wolf would make it very hard to reproduce on a piece of apparell.

Hello; here is my entry. Please let me know what you think of it. Thanks!

Interesting concept. The wolf is a little too dog like. Maybe something with a a pack of wolves running together. Also, can you change the font ? Something more like the first post. Last idea, what about incorporating some time of tall grasses intermingled with the text ? Slighlty obusring the lettering but not making it illegible.

Thanks for the effort.

This is a good start. Can you try a different color combination ?
Anyway to put a little more humor into the concept ? Maybe put a divot near where the club would have struck the ground and grass attaced to the end of the club. A piece of sod that came from the divot hanging over on of the letters and a ball between the wolf & creek ?

Hi again! Ok, here it is with some tweaking on the wolf to make it look more wolf-like, also with a friend. And some grass intertwining with the letters, which have also changed fonts. Let me know what you think of these revisions. Thanks!

I liked the more humorous one better provided you could improve on it a little. The wolves in your latest post still don't look like wolves.

Getting better. The spot that you put on the O in wolf creek should be more like a piece of sod. Go ahead and take the sod off the end of the club. Lastly, is there any way to make the wolf look a little more athletic ? Less pot belly with more leg movement. Somthing close to the attached golfer silhouette. The attached is an image of the perfert follow thru. I am not looking for this exactly but something that gives a less flat footed appearance. It would even be great if the wolf were staring at the divot near the ball he just missed on the tee.

Here's the revision.

The sod looks good but the divot needs to be clear of where the ball is teed up, creating the image that the wolf completely missed the ball. Still like the concept but would like to change the wolf. The attached images are more along the lines of what I am looking for in the wolf. Lastly, the horizontal geometry of the layout will make this kind of long on a shirt or hat. Can you try something with maybe just the letters WCGC, possibly putting the action in the center ?

Here's a revision getting rid of horizontal layout and keeping the movement focused. It's possible to take the trousers off, but I thought it would personalize it better this way.

Still getting better. Let's eliminate the golf tee, bring back the ground divot. Imbed the ball in one of the letters, maybe the K. This knocks the k & the f above it off balance, and creates cracks the ripple through the rest of the words. Eliminate the words golf club.

This would lead me more toward a wolf that is more like the one in the red riding hood image. A wolf that is muscle bound and sort of intimidating. Possibly put a golf shirt on the wolf and let the wolf some large hairy forearms.

Lastly, complete the follow thru by bringing the club to parallel with the club head point way from the target. I can send you an image of this if you are not a golfer. Let me know.
If you can pull that together, that would be great.

I think you are on the right track but the wolf looks to much like a collie. You are close to the image I want for the wolf but the hair is a little to flowing and the wolf is not mischevious enough. Take a look at the attached image that I believe is more along the lines of what we would like.

We would like to thank everyone for providing interesting ideas for a logo. Every input had interesting possibilities. At this time, we are selecting the work provided by the designer, Medigraph.

Revisions alog with your previous requests. Re-worked the wolf to make it look more intimidating. A shirt does not work well as it hides the details a lot. I hope you like this version.

Sorry about taking so long to get back to you but I had problems logging onto the site.

Looks good. I am trying to fit this on a golf hat and it is still a little to long. Any chance you can change the wolf creek to just the initials WCGC, (Wolf Creek Golf club) ? Hopefully, this will shorten the lenght of it to fit on a hat.

Thanks for the efforts.
