Hey Guys (I mean that generically to include women too!)

My site ListerPRO (http://www.listerpro.com) needs a logo.

I don't have much to offer in the way of ideas for a logo, but here are a few things I'd like.

1. Pretty much just looking for a logo. Doesn't need to include the name, but if you can fit the name in with it, go for it.

2. Colors - Not dead set on the colors of the website, but if you wanted to make it match the site, that's allright too.

3. Want to be able to use it for business cards too.

4. I'd like to make a decision by Monday the 21st of July.

I'm new at this so I might be able to give you more information if you ask me some questions.

Thanks and I look forward to working with you!

David

Welcome to the Outpost, David :)

Here's my first attempt at your logo, and an example on a business card.

Here's a different take on it...

I appreciate the quick entries!

I don't think the auction gavel is something we are looking for. We're looking for a really unique design. I would like the logo to be independent of the name although being able to incorporate the name with it is also something we'd like.

Thanks for the entries so far. Nothing is really jumping out at me though.

Maybe we can revisit the gavel idea. Possibly more of a hand drawn look. A little abstract gavel? Maybe incorporate the L and P somehow?

Sorry..I'll change this to say "Lister" Pro. Can't believe I did that! Let me know if you like it and I'll change it. The symbol represents the "LP". Thanks!

DynaGirl, thanks for the work!

I don't think the multi color one is something we'd use. I do like the thought of some kind of shape being the logo, but that one looks a little too close to a Nike swoosh.

Is anyone else interested in attempting the logo? I'm really impressed with the work that's put out here so I'm hoping to get several entries.

Thanks!
David

Taldo!

I like the idea, but the logo looks a little 'blocky' if that's even a word. (I know it sounds wierd, but I think of a swastika when I look at it!)

I still think a hand drawn gavel may do the trick.

Here's my entry....let me know what you think.

(Colours etc. can be changed)

Taldo - That last design looks a little too old style. I'd like something a little more 'tech' like. I still think some kind of abstract hand drawn gavel might work.

DynaGirl - I don't think that's what we're looking for.

MartinCrumlish - Interesting. Let's see it without the drop shadow and pick a color or two from our existing website. (http://www.listerpro.com)

Thanks everyone. I'm going to have to extend the contest for another week. I'm hoping one design will jump out at me once I see it. I appreciate all the work you guys do!

Wow, good stuff folks!

Ondarox - I like how the words overlap. Keep the text but experiment with another logo. I don't have any advice on the logo, but maybe try your hand at an abstract gavel withouth straight lines.

RadicalSEED - I like the idea. I'd like to get away from straight lines in the logo portion though.

DynaGirl - I REALLY like the second gavel. I think it's exactly what I meant by 'abstract.' The only change I think I'd like to see is the font for the text. I don't think a script type font is what we want.

Taldo - Revisit your second design. I like the text on the the different color backgrounds. I'm still thinking the gavel needs to have no straight lines though.

As far as the name goes, I think we're set on the case being 'ListerPRO' with the 'L' and 'PRO' in uppercase. See if you can work with that.

Thanks for the work everyone!

I went with a different font and two-tone lettering this time. Better?

DynaGirl - Yes, I like that a lot. Can you play around with a couple of different fonts? Try them with/without italics too.

Time to close this up.

I appreciate all the work everyone put in to it.

The winner is the logo (without any text) created by DynaGirl. I'd like to get the logo itself in a format I can use for printing and for the web. So I'll leave it up to you to tell me the best format.

I'll be playing around with the text part of the logo myself. I'll also be redesigning the site around the logo.

Thanks again everybody!

David

David, I'll send an email to discuss the file format, etc.
