Project Summary:
A logo for Seeds Consulting

What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
"Seeds" (without the quotes) is the main part of the logo. "Consulting" (without the quotes) can be added (not sure what is best) if placed discreet.

What type of service do you offer?
"Seeds Consulting" is a computer consultancy company focusing on development and strategic analysis. No "running around shooting at each other with toy-guns"-type of company, just plain, solid, advanced solutions. We are competing on quality, not price.

How long have you been in business?
The company have existed for about 1.5 years, but the company name is brand new.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
We are looking to get known to more potential customers in the segment of medium and large companies.

What are your long term goals?
Having a stable and solid company that helps large customers with creative, technical problems. Delivering high quality every time.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
April 20th 2006 (deadline can be extended if necessary)

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience:
Technical adviser and decision takers in large companies willing to pay for large (months and years) projects.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
We want to become more known among our segment. Quality and stability should be words that come to your mind when they think about us. End users and very small companies are not interesting customers.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
The design of the logo is open to suggestion but simplicity is the key. A design element (maybe a seed?) can be incorporated in the logo. The challenge will be to make it simple but not too boring. The text "Seeds" is the major part of the logo.

Do you have any colours in mind for your logo?
No colors are decided yet, but not too many different colors at once. The colors should not be vital to the design. If you see the logo in black/white you should still recognize the logo.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
"Quality", "Stable", "Advanced" and a small touch of "Expensive"

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, in adverts, on banners, on promotions, business cards and letterhead

Hi Jonathan. Thanks for making the first suggestion. The general idea is on the right track, but I think this became a bit too boring. The font was a bit too plain. I would suggest a thicker and a bit more exciting font. I also think the designelement was too big. Anyway, thanks for trying. It was a good suggestion

hi djaka. of the four suggestions so far this is the one I like the best. I like the details on the D but I didn't like the e's, I feel they are too high (maybe a similar font would do). I also think the color on the text is wrong. I think red/orange is the wrong direction of color. I would like to see more examples in this direction.

I tried to make something that was fresh and implied new growth, with a font that allows for a technical feel as well.

Hi Unorthodox. I really like the colors on this one (except for the little effect on the first one). The font could also be altered a bit (didn't like the e's or the d). The design element is nice, but I think it's a bit to similar to other designs I've seen.

Hi NHR. I think this was too modern and futuristic. I didn't really like the font or the element. Sorry, but thanks for trying.

Hi Michael. I liked the font when it was used for "consulting" but didn't think it looked so good in the Seeds-part. I also think the plant was a bit too much,

new concept:
An icon depicting an S shape, as well as two C's (for consulting) that also look like 2 seeds. This icon can also represent two human figures helping each other out (hands reaching over each other).

Hi Unorthodox. I like the font and I like the colors (maybe a little bit darker green?), but I think the icon was a bit too much. I really liked the way djaka incorporated the icon into the text in a discreet way. A combination of these two would be very good.

Hi Medigraph. I do think you two logos were a bit too plain. The fonts were too boring and the icons wasn't really what I was looking for. Thanks for trying.

Hi Gig. Thank you for joining the quest for a logo :)
This was pretty good. The font was plain, but still quite good. Although I do think the icon was a bit too big and I didn't really like the form of it.

No problem, johenrik. I was folowed this your words: "Advanced" and a small touch of "Expensive"

But, there is something what I first had in mind when looking your examples:

Hi Johenrik,
thank you for the feedback.
Here is the revision to the 'e' and color.
I change the colour so it will show more mature (burgundy) but still dynamic (orange) and growing (green).

thank you
:)

Hi NHR. The font is better then the last one, but still not quite what I'm after. I do like the seed so if you could keep that and incorporate it in another way into another font it might be good.

johenrik
03-23-2006, 10:43 PM
Hi djaka. After viewing your first version a few more times I like the e's better and better. I don't think you've got the colors right yet. Could you try the first version again with some other colors? Sorry for jumping back and forth here.

Hi eziey. Thank you for your contribution. This looks very good. I like both the font and the icon. However I don't think the colors are very good here. These colors looked good on Unorthodox's version, but on your version I don't think the colors looks good with the font. Could you try some other colors?

This an idea I had for a previous Design Outpost client. The hands are formed using the C letterform to create an S in the negative space.

Hi eziey. Thanks for the new versions. In my previous message I was referring to your version 1, sorry for not specifying better. I do like your new color variations of this one and I’ll but it aside for closer consideration later in the process.

Hi Raja. I like your second version. I’m not 100% sure about the icon yet, I like the concept, but not sure if the dotted version is what I’m after. I think I need a bit time to consider this. I’ll put your second version aside for closer consideration later on. I would appreciate if you could make some variations of the icon.

Hi Jon Engle. I think your color version looks good (I like the colors), but I do think it's got too much details with the background (the black/white version show this very vell). Even though I think it looks very good I would like to have a simpler logo.

Hi djaka. I'm not really sure which version I like the best, but I'll put your versions a side untill I make my final decision.

Hi everyone. Thanks to everyone who contributed, we got some really good logos and I've decided to go with the logo from djaka.

djaka: I still would like to work a bit on the colors. I'll be away for a week now, but I hope we can look a bit into this when I'm back.
