Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
CubsHub or CubsHub.com depending on the design of logo. Also Cubs Hub (with space is not ruled out)
What type of product or service do you offer?
A fan base for fellow Chicago Cubs fans. We talk baseball in general, but mainly Cubs. We have player interviews scheduled, offer stats, player profiles and scouting reports of young players.
How long have you been in business?
Site has been edited over the past year, but 6 months solid with visitors. (this week is the first time the site has been open during baseball season.)
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
A couple things:
#1, keep MLB off my back, my current logo, is borderline (at best) against copyright laws.
#2, get and stay out of the "blog" image, the logo is step one of a TOTAL site overhaul which will include layout and script to manage the site.
What are your long term goals?
Long term goals would be to become the top Cubs fan site. out the gates, in my opinion we were in the top 5 simply because of the writers I recruited to join the site, but the #1 spot will one day be ours.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
April 17th*
* Or until we find the PERFECT design, we will give time to see others, but be aware of the fact that we are looking for the perfect logo, when we see it... we will know, and react on it to save the other designers time.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Fans of baseball, mostly of the Chicago Cubs. But I would say a higher % of males, and USA based visitors, We currently are listed on various Baseball forums, and websites so we receive incoming clicks from those sites.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
More fans, we strive to provide information for fellow baseball fans, so it would be nice to have more readers to report to.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I am not sure on this one, I just want one that we can add to shirts, business cards and other various places. Fun? perhaps. But keep in mind we are wanting to create a professional image that makes us look like more that a group of kids doing a hobby site.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
There is no requirement, but keep in mind it is a Cubs fan site, and will be most likely have the color scheme to match their colors.
Chicago Cubs team colors are red and blue, with a taste of white. here is a link to the history of logos for the team as well:

With that said, we would not look professional with a pink and purple logo.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?

What is your tagline or slogan?
Currently we do not have one. but if you have a clever one... add it in and we shall see.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
We are not a fly by night site, we are here for the long haul, and we can provide the content to keep you coming back.
Where will your new logo be used?
Website, advertising, business cards, on vehicles, hats and shirts ..
