(Admin code added by Palmer - 64282P)

The deadline for this project is Friday, July 25, 2003. Sorry for such short notice.

I have a CD label image for a product that I sell that needs a facelift.

http://www.EasyFillForms.com/cd/cdlabel.gif

Along with the CD label facelift is a facelift of the Macromedia Flash installation launcher that runs when the CD is inserted.

http://www.EasyFillForms.com/cd/cdstart.gif

The images/files needed for this project can be downloaded from: www.EasyFillForms.com/cdflash.zip (http://www.EasyFillForms.com/cdflash.zip) as the size is too large to post here (2.17MB).

The image for the CD will be printed directly on the CD with the Primera Signature III CD Color Printer. Ink is very expensive for that particular printer and should be taken into consideration when designing the CD (i.e., more white space than color). The background color of the CD face before printing is white.

The following should be included in the CD image:

Company Name: CyberDyne Industries, Inc.
Updated Website: www.EasyFillForms.com
Product Name: Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation Forms on Disc
Logo: CyberDyne
Logo: Forms Product Logo - 4 checks
Copyright: copyright 1995-2003 - CyberDyne Industries, Inc. - All Rights Reserved
Warning: Do not make illegal copies of this disc
Acceptance: Use of this disc is acceptance of license agreement
Version: 2003

The Flash splash project should reflect the same style as the CD - whatever that may be. A Flash projector is created for the CD to help facilitate the installation of the product and show off some of our products. It desperately needs a facelift. From the existing Flash project you should get an idea of what I need it to do. It is very simple in operation. The main menu should be updated to reflect the following changes:

Install Forms 2003
Install CaseWizard 2000.11
Install PaperWorks
Forms Instructions
Custom Software
Contact Information
Install Internet Explorer 6
Install Adobe Acrobat v5.1
Link: www.EasyFillForms.com (can be image)
Link: www.CyberDyneIndustries.com (can be image)

The current company colors are: #1963AA (blue), #FF7F00 (orange), #FFFFFF (white), but I am flexible.

The audience for this product will be insurance companies, lawyers and other professionals.

I use Macromedia Flash MX, Adobe Illustrator 10 and Adobe Photoshop 7.

Note: I was originally going to seperate these two items, but I want to ensure cohesion of styles between the two images.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Just some clarification on the flash component.

You want the CD to autorun and have that main flash menu show up, correct? What else does the flash entail? Is there anything important that we should be considering for the flash?

Thanks.

Do you have SWF Studio (http://www.northcode.com/home.html) nice little tool for Flash, enables you to have borderless window, Icons, always on top etc. I've used it on CD Roms for clients.

You've got it.

It would be extra special nice for it to have some animation/movement on the menu or prior to the menu opening up, but not a requirement.

The "Install CaseWizard 2000.11" and "Install Paperworks" menu items will actually advance to a description of the software with a button for them to install it if they would like.

The only consideration for the Flash is that it looks bigger than I am. It is the second impression they will get of my company and I don't want them to think that this is just some dude burning CDs in his basement (:whistle2:) - probably their current impression.

Cool is good.

Thanks.

I've used the previous version of SWF Studio before, but ended up going with mProjector (http://www.binarynoise.com/). I may have to give SWF Studio another try.

Thanks for the tip though. I had almost completely forgotten about them.

Michael,

I like #1. I looks very nice. That's the direction I would go with for the Flash.

Is the bleed intentional? There is approximately 1mm of printable surface outside the black border (it varies very slightly).

There would either need to be no border or no bleed (there may be other ways around it - I don't mean to exclude a more creative solution).

Excellent job .

Thanks,

As for the border I've used the template you supplied in PSD, so the border can be removed. The bleed area I don't think will appear when printed on the disk as the disk is only as big as the black border line.

If you like #1 then I will use that design for the CD Flash movie.

Ok here is the Flash, I haven't really done a lot just changed the colour scheme and added some animation to the menu.

Let me have your thoughts.

CD Rom example (http://www.2square.co.uk/contests/cdstart.html)

Not all the links are working it needs a good tidy up.

It looks very nice. I'd like to see the blocks in front of the menu items punched up a little.

I'd also like to see a different way to represent the IE 6.0 and Adobe Acrobat menu items.

Perhaps another way to represent the "contact information" item as well.

The "web design" menu item should be removed.

Also please move the "Forms Instructions" directly underneath the "Install Forms" item.

Thanks.

No problems

Make bigger and add a fill inside the box? or try something else?

How about the IE, Adobe Reader symbols and a symbol of a phone for the contact?

Let me know

Hello,

Revised version

Flash #2 (http://www.2square.co.uk/contests/cdstart2.html)

I like the icons for IE, Acrobat & contact.

I was hoping for something a little more "eye catching" where the squares are now, but I'm not sure what that would be. Perhaps something spinning on hover over.

That's a shame Rad

Anyway I've added some rollover animation to the links, let me know if I'm heading in the right direction.

That's what I was thinking. For $150 you'd think he'd find the time :)

I was hoping for a little more competition on this design, but it looks like time ran out.

With an excellent design even without the competition the winner is 2square !

Thanks for all your work.

Whenever you're ready, eMail me what you've got.

Thanks again.
