New Logo for Student Ministry [Archive]

Greetings!

I'm looking for a new logo for the Student Ministry for our church... I basically just want it to say:

Community of Hope
Student Ministry

Real simple... the only specifics I'm looking for is some kind of sunrise incorporated kind of like our church logo, but in know way exact... I'm looking for something surfer style. This logo will be printed on T-Shirts, Banners, and print flyers, and be used on the web...

I've attached a copy of our church's logo so you can get an idea of the sunrise...

Really I want something that would look like it could be printed on and Abercrombie t-shirt or something like that...

These are Middle and High School students I'm working with and the logo should reflect their life style...

The church's color scheme is Green, Yellow, and White so something like that would be helpful! Thanks! I can't wait to see what comes up!

I'm actually looking so something in the Green Yellow and White color scheme much like the church's

I'm mostly looking for a main logo that focuses on the text. This is something that will be appearing on letters and flyers and be more of a heading than a full on picture logo...

The font I'm looking for is something edgier, almost a rugged stamp style font, with a surfer sun in the back...

Hi Wayne, I just tried to match the original style you showed to a fresh breathing one. The sun is the hope, and it wrape the whole thing into one. In option 2, the leaf shows the growth of the student ministry. Any comments for me? :unsure:

While those logos are great, they're a little too "adult" for the student ministry... read the posts up top to get a grasp of what I'm looking for... if the sun is in it, I'd like for it to be more of a "surfer" sun or something... I might show my Pastor that logo anyway, he may want some like that for something else and if so we'll post later on it...

Just to give you an idea... here's the college ministry logo that Julie made for me... and feel free to check out abercrombie's website to see what I'm looking for...

I think Abercrombie & Fitch is kind of the opposite of surfer style, though. They're more subdued and earthy toned. Is that what you want or are you looking for more of a bright sketchy surfer style?

Dynagirl - try both styles and see what we get...I'd like something earthy and yet directed towards a high schooler who might surf...

Julie - while I definitely want Community of Hope over Student Ministries I'd still like Student Ministries to be the central focus...

Try a different font too, I'm not sure if a boy would like to where a tshirt with your original font style. I love your work though!

That Design is Awesome! We're definitely on to something here! Let's keep that design in the favorites pile because we may end up going right back to it!

Could you make the Green a little darker? and the word "Ministry" a little bit bigger? not super big but just a little.

And alsothe sun... could you give it some shorts rays? wavy, kinda surfer style? I'm not looking for over the top... just enough.

We're almost there... can you try shorter sun beams and maybe making them a little thicker?

The color scheme on the second one was fine...

and make the word "Ministry" the same color and "Student."

Good stuff, But I think I've got it now...

Let's try looking at your 5 & 6 options with these changes... eliminate the bottom portion of sunrays, and keep the other three sets right where they are.

Keep both Student and Ministry white (like they were) and add a thin green outline to both of the designs (around the rays)

Then we'll get to details of what else we need file wise...

I didn't see your D.O. symbol, but I guess my computer didn't pull it up. That logo looks really cool, but I think it'll work better for another logo I'm needing... It's in the charity case section for a Bible Study Program I have called Home Teams... check it out if you're interested.

I think we're going with option 8(a). I'm going to get the absolute final thumbs up on it tonight/tomorrow morning...

Here's what I would need... every format jpg, gif, tiff, and adobe photoshop (so that it can be separated by layers.)

Also I need just the words "Student Ministry" on a separate file too (in black and white for printing)
Along with a plain black and white format of the logo (for printing as well)

To give you an idea... I would like to use just the words Student Ministry on the pocket area of a tshirt and then the full logo on the back.

The black and white stuff is for flyers and letter head and stuff... cool?
