We are looking for a logo for our consignment boutique - ladies' clothing only. We carry clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry. We live in a university town (25,000 students) and are looking for a logo that will appeal to that age group without scaring off our 25-50 age group clientele.
We are changing our name from a cutesy name to a name that sounds trendier to appeal to the younger age group. Our new name is Fringe.

Here's some more info about what we are looking for:
1. We carry high-end and designer clothes only
2. We carry teen brands all the way up to more mature women's clothing, but are trying to appeal more to the 18-35 year old demographic.
3. Trying to avoid anything cutesy or too mature.
4. Logo should be effective on color or black and white
5. I like the idea of a trendy shopper or shopping bags included in the logo, but be creative, it's not required and I am open to any options.
6. I will not be including a tagline in the name/logo.

Thanks in advance for all entries!

splunking,
Cute - good idea. I like the pink, but could you work it up in some bolder colors too? I'm still looking for some more ideas to choose from.
Thanks!

Carlos,
This doesn't jump out at me. I'm really looking for something that gives a hint as to the type of store with a really hip/trendy/"look at me!" style.
Thanks for the submission.

Sure I can play with some bolder colors. Can you specify what colors you are interested in?

Thanks for your prompt feedback!

Great ideas, guys!
Cindy - as far as colors, maybe some orange/hot pink or smoky brown/robins-egg blue or gold/red. Of your designs, my favorite right now is the polka dot. I really like the font - very fun!
Paula23 - I like the purse and shoe in the logo - not crazy about the font - maybe something a little less formal. I don't care for the idea with the shopper. I don't think that image would appeal to the youger demographic.
Medigraph - I don't think this is what I'm looking for, a little too nondescript for me, although I like the color choices and the font in version 1.

Hello Again :D

Here are some of the colors you asked for. Polka dots can be tricky, and usually work best with lighter shades of a color behind text. The fun thing about a logo that is a purse/bag is that as long as the text is distinctive and easy to recognize you can really do the 'fabric' or color of the bag however you want. For instance I've seen the Target logo used in a variety of colors, but when you see that bullseye you instantly associate the logo with the store.

Thanks again for your prompt feedback!
It's a huge help, to all of us

Wow! So many good ideas - I'm very impressed!
Medigraph - I really like version 4, but am not sold on the font - I think it would be hard to read from a distance.
Bluecherry - I like the font, not crazy about the color and graphics - a little plain for me.
Paula - Version 4 really appeals to me, but the black and white version is not very readable to me with the swirls inside. Also, can you give me an option with a little bit bolder shade because I'm a little concerned about my major signage and whether it will stand out enough.
Splunking - you're right about the polka-dots (I still like version 1.0d), but what about using the color combinations with version 1.0 a&b)? Any way this would work? I really like the fact that it looks great in black & white regardless.

Obviously, I'm really leaning towards the logos that really give the customer a hint of what the store is all about.
Thanks for all the submissions. I've got plenty of fantastic ideas to choose from.
Stacie

OK - thanks for the revisions-
Here's what we are looking at with the submissions we have now

Taldo - I'm not crazy about the hanger idea, just not the direction we're going in. Your version 1 is more to our taste.
Paula23 - OK, the original version 4 is a better color combination - the bottom black and white on version 5 looks much more readable.
Medigraph - you've got some great ideas and I appreciate the different placements and fonts and the color scheme you are using. We like version 4, but so far we have not seen a font that we really love.
Splunking - I'm sorry, but we've ruled out the bad. Too much feedback that it looks like it's for an even younger than we are trying to reach. If any other ideas, please submit.
Tonya - I'm really looking for something with a graphic.

Thanks for all the hard work - this is a tough decision.

Thank you for the feedback. Is there a particular style for the font that you may prefer?

Medigraph,
We like the idea of the font in version 4.1, but have gotten feedback from several that the "r" isn't distinguishable from the "n" and such. Something more along those lines as far as fun and different.
Thanks!

Titania - thanks for the submission, but I'm not crazy about the graphic and I don't see something like this transferring very well to signage or print.
Thanks

Thanks! Do you need any revisions?

staciefm

I don't think any revisions are necessary, but I will be using this logo for everything - business cards, print ads, paperwork, signage etc. Could you send it in several different file versions that my printer and sign co. people will have to choose from (you may know better which ones will work for just about anything). My printer specifically requested a .pdf file and I was told that a .tif and .jpeg file would probably be needed for signage. Any others you think would be helpful are appreciated. I know this is a fairly simple logo - I just don't want anyone to say that they can't work with it.
Thanks-
Stacie
