Sales, service and installation of garage doors and garage door openers
How long have you been in business?
15 years

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Residential homeowners, small business owners, builders/contractors, stores chains such as Sears, Lowe’s and Home Depot
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Clean, simple, bold. Something that people will remember and associate with Terry’s Garage Doors & Openers
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Red, yellow and black. Bold, and simple
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
We would like to stay away from the typical garage door look, something simple and easy to associate with our business.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Professional, experienced, reliable, quality
What is your tagline or slogan?
”We’re Different because we Care”
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
That we are a professional experienced company and use quality products.

Magnet signs for vans, business cards/possible letterhead and service tickets
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Other garage door companies. Toledo Automatic Door, Overhead Door, Quality Overhead Door, Dicks Automatic Door
They use Logos that are typical and not unique, they also use real photographs which looks drab and boring.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
Small Family owned and operated, fast and friendly service. We only use quality products, like heavy duty galvanized steel hardware on our doors. We offer discounts on service calls, and never inflate our prices.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
”Quality, professionalism, and dependability”

Splunking: Thank you for your submission.
We are looking for something a little different than your initial design. We would like to have a graphic along with the company "Terry's Garage Doors & Openers" - maybe the graphic in front of the name. Something when you look at the logo you know we are in garage doors but without having a garage door in the design. Does that make sense?
Also, we have decided to eliminate the slogan (and he has changed it since then).
Thank you for your efforts so far

Kekapania:
Thank you for your submission. This is getting closer to what we are looking for. A couple changes I would like to see:
Our colors are black, yellow and red. The lettering should be in the black with the graphics yellow and red.
The font for "Terry's" isn't exactly what we are looking for. Maybe something a little less techno. Otherwise we are on the right track!

Love it! The owner of the company hasn't seen these yet. Not sure if he will get to see anything until Tuesday as he is going out of town. So, if any others designers post and you don't get an answer for a few days, we will post on Tuesday.
Please feel free to continue to post as I will keep him updated!
Thanks again!

Kekepania:
Terry likes your original submission and is considering changing the colors to the blues you are using. Can you submit this in the red and yellow with this font as well for comparison? Also, can you make the words "Garage Doors & Openers" a little bolder?
The deadline is still July 12 so if anyone else has something to submit, please do so.
thanks!

Hey...like all the new ones coming in.
Fabian: There should be an apostrophe after the "y" - Terry's
Kekepania: You got the colors right - but he liked your original font (the one we thought was too "techno" - but Terry liked it.

Thanks everyone for the submissions. - I like them all - Terry likes Kekepania's and Fabians - both have a garage door feel to them - Fabian - he likes your first one with the "T" design - Is it possible to make the "Garage Doors & Openers" just a tiny bit bigger and use the same PMS colors Kekepania has?
Kekepania - he likes your original blue and navy one with the different kind of font -
He likes the others too - but is leaning to the look of the 2 I mentioned above. He is out of town (again) until Sunday afternoon - I'm sure he will make a decision when he comes back -
So, again, if anyone else has anything - feel free - We aren't ignoring anyone - just out of the office for a few more days!
Thanks, again

Fabian:
Sorry, I should have been more clear - the PMS colors I was looking for was with the blues - You forgot to put the apostrophe back in Terry's and also - make the "Garage Doors and Openers" and little bit bigger! Thanks
Fabian

Senter: Thanks for the new submission - Terry is leaning toward a different look tho - this one looks similar to our stickers we place on the doors and he would like a more "stretched out" look that would look good on the side of a truck.
Bluecherry Graphics: Terry really likes this design - tho he said he may like to see the graphic changed a little - He didn't specify exactly how - but maybe something close - but a little different - does that make sense?
We have decided to extend the deadline to July 31 - a revision should be showing up in the headline soon. We have had too many out of town trips and now a death with one of our employees mother's.
thanks and if anyone else wants to submit - please do!
Project Update: The project deadline has been extended to July 31st.

This would look great going down the side of a truck or on a tailgate.

Yay! Thanks for choosing my design! :) Are there any revisions? If not, what email address should I send files to? :D

The only revisions we may like to see is bolding the words Garage Doors & Openers a little but keeping the same font. Also, would it be possible to tell us the name of the fonts that you used, so we may match them up with other text we may use. This is for Version #1.
Please email files to logonlady@buckeye-express.com
Thank You

I cannot open the EPS files nor the AI files in my Corel Draw 11 - I can view only the PDF files - is there something I may be doing wrong?

I have found someone to open the files for me. The files are now downloaded. Thank you

Kekepania - now that the file is open - the graphic part of the design shows the lines aren't smooth and straight - each part of the graphic has jagged edges in the design - is it possible for these to be straightened for a smooth cut?
PJCapp

Hi again....everything is fine. We tried cutting the design in my vinyl software and it looks great. For some reason on the screen everything is "jagged" looking.
We are all happy here and thanks so much for your hard work!
