Company Details
1a) Name of Company: Computer Mentors Group, Inc. or Computer Mentors (for short)
1b) Company Tag Line or slogan: None that we actually use.
1c) Do you have a company logo?
Yes. We presently have two logos that we use. We are committed to the hand imprints that are utilized as part of the logo but are open to change on how the text is formatted if something different needs to be done with the name of the organization in order to make a nice web comp.

1d) Do you have a corporate visual identity (a customized (non stock) logo and color scheme carried out throughout your office, stationery, business cards, etc.)? No, we do not have this currently. The only common thread that we do have that gets carried across stationery and so on is the handprint.
1e) What is the nature of your business?: Briefly describe your products or services:
We are a "Digital Divide" non-profit organization that provides computer training and computers to underserved populations. Our primary "flagship" program is our Youth Certification & Ownership Program. This program is for youths aged 14 through 18 who are given an opportunity to earn their own person computer, which they build, and a computer certification called IC3. Our other programs include: Adult basic computer training, Computer Mentors Kids Program for children, Christmas Computers For Kids a computer giveaway program, and Back-To-School Computers for kids, another computer giveaway program.
1f) Who is your target market? Who are you hoping to reach with your site?
Our functional clients are the youth (14 to 18) in our primary program. However, we are supported by the donations from foundations and corporations, so in a very real sense, they are our real clients.
Website Details
1b) Do you have an existing website? If so, what is the URL?
Our current website can be found at www.computermentors.org
2b) IMPORTANT: Please list at least 3 URLs (web addresses) of high quality sites that you like the look of (these do not have to be sites who’s business is similar to yours. It aids us in determining what your design style is.) Please consider layout, colors, navigation, graphics, and typography.
http://www.thetech.org/
http://corp.ign.com/ I like the scroll. I’m not in love with the colors of the background, but the scroll would give us a way to highlight our funders and display photos.
http://www.vivabit.com/
3b) What colors or color schemes would you like?
See http://www.giftsinkind.org/newhome/partnerships.asp. I love the background color used in the subsequent pages (not the initial home page which is just a white). Also love these crisp lines they’ve used.
4b) List the Navigation links for your Site:

5b) What type of look are you trying to achieve? (e.g. clean, high-tech, conservative, warm, flashy, etc.)
The primary goal of the redesign is to present a youthful clean and crisp look while maintaining an image that is professional. The “end result” on what the “visitor” will be browsing the site for will primarily be based around content and learning more about the programs and activities that Computer Mentors has going on within the community. Feature sections that will be most important are:
• a highlighted news/events;
• feature spot where we can spotlight some of our sponsors, founders, and the kids;
• and a login (button) section for sponsors/board members/educators/kids
• Clear button / call to action on every page to be able to make a donation (we will be using PayPal for the donations)
The only “call to actions” that will need to be planned for will be in “the program” section where we’ll look to capture the child’s contact information.
6b) Please provide the addresses of competitors' sites, if possible:
http://www.bgcb.org/ Boys & Girls Clubs
http://www.bgcc.org/ Boys & Girls Clubs
http://www.bbbs.org/ Big Brothers Big Sisters
7b) Do you have any images for use in the design of your site? If not, do you have images, can you offer suggestions of what you type of imagery you feel would be most suitable for your website:
Logo Considerations
I don’t have actual images for the site but do have some that can be used as suggestions.

Deadlines and Deliverables
1c) What is the deadline for the design of your project?
Like to have this don’t by July 19, 2006
2c) What is required breakdown of the files you require our designers to supply you with on finalization of your project?
We will be requiring PSD/Flash/fonts or any other particulars that chosen designer comes up with. Any buttons that we would use for call to actions such as “more info” / “click here for more information” / similar things will need to have its own layers / psd file so we can repurpose / use.
Are there any other comments/specific ideas we should keep in mind while designing your project?
Please see section 5b for more details. After looking through the www.computermentors.org website please for any further questions so we can further define project scope.
