We operate a dental specialty group practice that consists of an endodontist (root canal specialist), an Oral Surgeon (wisdom teeth extraction and implants), a Peododontist (childern's dentist) and an Orthodontist. We are looking for a cool name also........currently we just call ourselves "dental specialty group".
We are looking for a logo that creates a "one stop shop" look for the patient's dental needs meaning that instead of going to four different offices for their dental needs, they can just come to us.
Another option for a look could be something that has a picture or logo of all four specialties in each of the four corners of the card, but I am not sure if that would be too busy.
Upon completion of the desing, we would like the logo emailed in every usable format including .eps and "workshop"
thanks,
Hamid

My answers are below:
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo? Dental specialty group
What type of product or service do you offer? all aspects of dental services
How long have you been in business? 17 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity? modern high tech look indicating cutting edge dentistry
What are your long term goals? make lots of money :)
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? no real dead lines.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Who would you like to add to your audience? Families and other general dentists who refer patients
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like? not sure of the question.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?) Not really, modern colors that are professional are nice.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo? not really.

hi :)
Taldo,
can you try the following changes:
1. instead of the 4 people in the oval, try 4 images that demonstrate our four specialists as I described them in the beginning. Maybe something like a mouth with braces on them (this should be drawing like instead of a real mouth) for the orthodontist, a cartoon like image of a child smiling for the pedodontist, an image of a tooth that has a root canal for the Endodontist and a picuture of a wisdom tooth for the oral surgeon. I don't know if this becomes too busy and unattractive, but it was just a suggestion.
If that doesn't work, may be we can work off of the current concept, but I need to see some other ideas.
thanks

An abstract tooth made of four pieces, each symbolizing specialty areas. Name also refers to quadrants.

To be honest, I'm not the best "illustrator". My logos are pretty simple and clean. If someone wants to run with your idea, that is great! I'm just probably not the best person to do it! :)

Tado,
its not like I didn't like your design, I just had an idea that I wanted to express. In retrospect, it may look kind of messy with four illustrations on a business card, etc........
thanks,

Medigraph,
I get what you are trying to do because I am a dentist, but I don't think the general public gets it.
Thanks,
Hamid

Taldo,
the more I look at your design, the more it is growing on me. I'd like to make a few suggestions in order to take this project to completion.
1. The idea that I get from your logo is that there are 4 people in the center, but from far away, those blocks representing the 4 people's bodies also look like teeth (which is cool). So can we try setting the 4 4 people at the same upward moving angle as the curve line that separates the two colors of the back ground. Also can we make that same curve line (the top and the bottom parts) be red so that it looks like the outline of a lip. Although I do not want that curve line to go across the bodies of the 4 people. Also can we make the word "group" in red.
thanks

What do you think of this?

Thanks for doing the changes. Now that I see it, it looks too much like teeth and mouth. My goal is to create a subliminal message of teeth.
How about if we go back to the first version an make the separation line that separate the two blue back ground colors in red. Just so that I am clear, I don't want the red line to go across the bodies of the people. Can you leave the word Group red (as it is), but I like to use a nice rich red color in both.
Thanks,
Hamid

Thank you, I think we are almost done. can you eliminate only the red line at the bottom half of the oval (leave the red line that connects the people alone).
thank you.
