I am looking for a logo for a renaming project (VFO -> Corefino) for our company (our current web site is http://www.vfoco.com/ ). The colors from the web site won't change in the renaming as we are not revamping the site, other than the new logo and company name.
Versions with and without our tag line: Filling the GAAP are desired. Ideas that help ensure correct pronunciation - cor-fee-no - also desired
I have attached two font treatments that have played well with management. As well as the Pantone reference color that is our primary corporate color. I am looking for a look that alludes to a Web2.0 style examples (http://www.fontshop.com/fontfeed/archives/web-20-logos.cfm) as many of these companies are our clients. I want to look like part of the crowd.
The logo must also render well in grayscale for faxes and laser printouts. I would especially appreciated both a CMYK and spot color versions as the end product.
I am sure I have missed something in this project description so feel free to ask questions.

I'd normally suggest that being part of a crowd is not necessarily the best option but ... Web 2.0'd as requested - and using your corporate colour.
Let me know your thoughts.
Cheers,
Paul

My comments re: Web2.0 were probably too strong. They are our customers - we want them to be comfortable (i.e. get it)
but show me what you'd do with no restrictions (other than we aren't changing the web site look)

Medigraph - I like it - esp the part where the artwork implies we are part of the whole enterprise. Can we strengthen that concept?

Hello Tom,
I tried to integrate C, a stylized human and "filling" concept into this, therefore I would be glad if you could provide more insight into "being a part of the" issue, so that I can try to strengthen it more.
Thanks.

Other responsibilities severly limited my time to partcipate. I will be adding some comments shortly. I will probably extend this until Monday before making a final decision.

Senter - I like the concept but it strikes me as too busy.
J Johnson - I really like the abacus (but perhaps to on-the-nose). But the typography leaves me wanting something stronger
djaka - I appreciate the work but it strikes me as too busy and dis-jointed.
Gig - thank you - nice simple concept
CarolTaldo - love it - the circle seems to overweight the type - what could we do here - would linear work well?

Wow - that was hard. In the end, it came down to the almost impossible choice between J Johnson and CarolTaldo. Each gave us everything we were looking for in the design and both would look good for us.
But, we have decided to go with CarolTaldo's logo.
I greatly appreciate the efforts and imagination of all the designers who participated. The broad participation is what make DesignOutpost a great resource for companies.

Thanks a bunch. Please let me know if there are any revisions..
The majority of our logo uses (esp on partner sites) are horizontal spaces. Can you shrink the size of the circle - perhaps to the height of the "F"

Carol - I am fine with the logo as is - so just give me an eps
but I am wondering if you'd like to do the business card layout and letterhead for the new logo. If so, contact me at transom@vfoco.com
