Hi Everyone,

We are after a logo for our new psychological counselling and assessment business. Our business is called “Clearview Counselling and Assessment”.

Obviously a professional image is required for such a business however we would like our logo to exhibit a welcoming quality also. The audience we are trying to attract is mixed, made up of individuals seeking personal counselling and people referred to us for psychological assessment by professionals such as doctors and lawyers.

We should also mention that our business is located in Melbourne, Australia.

The deadline for this project is 11th August 2006.

We look forward to seeing your work. Thanks.

Hi & thanks to everyone who has responded so far.

Ratbaggy- We like the "Clearview" font however the counselling and assessment part doesn't really stand out enough against the white background. Could you possibly work a symbol into the design also? Maybe in a position diagonally to the right of the "w" in Clearview.

Senter- The font used for "Clearview" could be a tad more casual/friendly. The symbol incoporates the idea of the CVCA letters however looks a little to industrial/tech. We like the font used for assessment and counselling. We like the colour you have used.

BlueCherryGraphics- We like the symbol but the colours need to be darker for the professional image we want to convey. We think the font for both sets of text needs to be changed as it is a bit plain.

Thanks :)

DraganB - Thanks for your design, but it's not really the kind of thing we are after. Do you have any other ideas :)

JaysonC - We like the idea of "light beyond the clouds" but feel it gets a bit lost with the length and size of "points" in the symbol. Also the symbol above the text is a bit big, thinking of how it would look on letterhead and business card. Any variations?

Medigraph - We like the font for the "counselling and assessment" but the "Clearview" font is a bit plain. The symbol idea of brain/head etc. is good but very similar to other psych businesses in the area. We like the colours and the gradual fading.

Thanks for the variety of suggestions so far everyone. Keep them coming! :)

BlueCherryGraphics- Thanks for the revised design. We like the symbol but still think the font is missing something. Can't suggest anything other than using a different style of font perhaps. Thanks :)

Hi Everyone. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you with comments.

Vertlime- Thanks for the revisions. We think the blue and green version looks pretty good. But we also like the second version (ligh blue and green). Would it be possible to seea further revision? We were thinking about a mix of the blue and green for the part where the two speech bubbles intersect.

JaysonC- We think that version looks much better. Could we see it in a number of different colours for comparisons sake. Thanks :)

BlueCherryGraphics - Thanks for the revisions. Neither of the fonts used really work for us I'm afraid.

Senter- Interesting approach however we dont think we wont a therapy couch in the design as that symbol does not reflect the entire scope of our business (i.e. the assessment work we do).

Bogglins- Thanks for your design. It's a nice concept but can we see a change to the symbol (perhaps colour change or change to design of pupil?). The symbol could also be closer to the text (at least we think so) :)

bogglins - Thanks for both of your designs but the feeling is neither of your designs really grab us where it counts. The first design is very similar to what is common in Melbourne for optometrists etc. The second design is nice but doesn't really convey what we do with the symbol.

ratbaggy - your design doesn't have the counselling and assessment text, which is pretty important as clearview is a business name for window companies here also. Also the black and white version doesn't translate well, as it loses the eye effect.

nhr - cool colours, convey the professionalism we want, but the symbol (we feel) is more indicative of design and architect firms. Do you have another idea for a symbol, using the same colours?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, keep them coming as there is still a week to go. :)

Senter- We really like what you have done with the text. The coulours are also cool. However the symbol needs to be changed. We like the size of it, however we showed it to someone who commented that it looks a bit like someone "mooning". Not really the type of symbol we would want for our business! Anyway, the rest of the design is great. Could you come up with a new symbol? We would prefer something other than a brain also. Thanks :)

Vertlime - Thanks for the revisions. We think that leaving the centre part white seems to look the best. There is very little else we can suggest for this design at this time. Thanks :)

Senter - thanks for the revised design. That symbol is better, however we are not to keen on the "Where trust is grown part". We think that line makes the design look to busy. Could we see it without that text. Thanks :)

nhr - Whilst this is also a cool design we prefer the other design (the round symbol).

Senter - We thought that version 3 of your design might look good without any symbol, but simply with a dot iver the "i" in clearview (a funky kind of dot rather than just a standard one). Could we please see a design like this.

Eziey - Hi & thanks for your design. We must say it is not really what we are after. Do you hav any other ideas for us? Thanks :)

gig - Thanks for your design. The idea of people in the symbol is cool, however we need the overall logo to look more professional. Also the design needs to have the text "Counselling & Assessment" in it. Thanks.

***If anyone else has a design they would like to enter please do so. It's not too late :) Perhaps designs without symbols is something to try.
Thanks everyone.

Hello

Here is a topography treatment using a wordmark as a branding concept, please allow me to explain.

The idea here is to use the clear part of the name as a transparency so when applied to a the window it plays on the minds psychological need to see things more clearly in pictures, as in to see and say what we see.

This branding concept would work well on transparent plastic business cards.

Thanks
Fabian

Skyvee - Thank you also for your design. It's a good design and at this point we cant suggest anything regarding revisions of it. :)

Hi

The letterheads could be just standard, just using the text "clear as a outline and view part as a solid colour (as shown).

Here were the brand could really stands out,you could use a transparent plastic business card or a die cut card (the clear part of the name could be cut out)

Just an idea :)

Interested in your thoughts!

Thanks

Senter - We like the font, but were looking for a simple, effective "dot" above the 'i' that isn't just a plain dot, if you know what I mean. Can you also have a play around with the contrasting colours, and match the dot of the 'i' with the colour font of the Counselling and Assessment. My partner likes the colours of your first version, but I think they are too dark and similar (ie. wont stand out enough to grab your attention on a business card) so can you also try some different colour combinations for us to check out.

Fabian - The concept is good, but the actual design doesn't grab us. It doesn't transfer well to basic stationary and faxes and stuff, which is important for our line of business. Can you please suggest some different fonts, with less of a size difference between the two concepts (the business name and what we do).

Post up as many variations as you can so we can decide on a winner asap. Thanks everyone.

It will be no problem to make it horizontal, but since the horizontal layout idea belongs to Senter, it will not be possible to execute that before the contest is over.

So if you want me to contribute any other ideas or polish this one, please do say so :) I am at your service.

Hi everyone. We have decided to extend this contest until 11th August 2006. At present there is not a design that we think is complete enough to select as a winner. We will try to post some examples of some logos that we think are inspiration for the kind of thing we are after.

Ratbaggy - We went through some of your other suggestions for other competitions, and saw a couple that we like. We liked the symbol that you did for McCoogen version 1 and Whetstone strategy group version I.

Everyone - In general, we wanted one of two things.

1. A symbol that was non-specifc but stands out. We'd like the symbol to be on the left of the Clearview font, with the counselling and assessment font either underneath or to the right.

2. 'Clearview' font to be on the left (grey or navy being the current suggestions), with the 'Counselling & Assessment' font being on the right or underneath, with a dot on 'Clearview' to be the same colour as the 'Counselling & Assessment'.
Specifically, the dot on the 'i' on Clearview was to be a small symbol (singular design only, not multi-patterned). And the colour of this to match the 'Counselling & Assessment' font

Hope this helps...
Colour suggestions are to be in combinations of orange and navy, or grey and orange.
