Hi all,
We are very excited about the opening of our new restaurant.

The new restaurant name is Tom Foolery's Restaurant & Bar

I am in search of an exciting logo that I can use on business cards, menus, letterheads. etc and also the new signage on the front of the building.

The theme of the restaurant is fun, foolishness (in a good way) and frolic in an upscale manner. We will be a full service restaurant serving lunch, dinner to everyone including families and an evening bar crowd to everyone with an emphasis on young professionals.

It would be interesting to see a face or figure of a Tom Foolery that could represent our theme.

Our decor is upscale casual, tables, booths, plasma TV's, a few games, interesting designs for the booth vinyl, wood at the bar, approx. 20 seat bar is in the middle of the restaurant and we will also cater to small functions (45 people) in a separate room. Total seating is 150.

We want to be very employee and customer focused and provide only the best service and food.

We want all our guests to have fun, leave happy and want to return again.
We want to be different than the chain and standard type bar & grills.

Thought - "We want to get to know you our specialty is people".

Another thought - "When it absolutely needs to be the best food and experience - you have our guarantee"

Let me know what you think.

Be creative and think out of the box.

We want to tell or invoke a story in our logo.

Thank You

The eyes were a good touch. The hat/ plate looked a little funky. Overall looked interesting.

I like the idea of having figures or faces in the logo
My vision is to have a person that portrays fun, festive, jovial and with some foolishness. Not sure that the figure/profile/face or whatever has to have the restaurant theme incorporated ie plates, food, etc. The words restaurant and bar kinda stand on their own
Good work so far
Looking forward to more ideas
Thanks
Rick

Sorry for not responding, have been away for a while
Need the logo by 8/24 - while close then

Try this:
I like the picture of a server as Tom holding a tray. See if you can work in a martini glass on the tray using the glass as the 'Y' in the words Tom Foolery's and maybe the toothpick in the olive as the apostrophy

Tom the server should look fun and festive not formal

Would like to use reds, yellows and blues as colors

I would like to see Tom a bit older and more mature. I would like to get away from the covered plate idea.
Thanks for the help

Hey there, since the character is a vital part of this design, I want to show you a concept to see if you really like it or not. I'll be waiting for your feedback!

We really like the guy with the beer and serving tray it goes very well with our concept. The last sketch is also very good. I would be interested to see what the entire logo would look like.

Heya, here's one I was working on which I really liked so thought I'd submit it before the one with Tom.

Christian

And here's the next draft with Tom. :D

I like the guy but he seems to blend in a little with the logo. What if you tried to match him with the logo directly above your first one.

:) Paula 23,
We like your submittal the best - I would like to close as soon as we complete final alterations.
Two options:
Option 1. Just the rectangle and the lettering. Delete the man, circle and the beer. Use three colors, terracota red, mustard yellow and deep sky blue.
Option 2. Again use the suggested colors and the box and the lettering. No beer or man. Move the box up to be centered in the middle of the circle.
Thanks
Rick

Hi, not sure if you saw these, but once you posted I got sent the alert email and realized my post was deleted for using a colored background(my mistake!). But when it was removed I wasn't notified. Even if you don't choose my design, here it is again just in case, and just to make sure you didn't think I had ignored you since I have no idea if you got to see them before they were deleted.

other color combinations.

Thanks, Paula :)

Christian,
Would you try to work a martini into the design in the guy's hand and also into the Y in the word Foolery. Is it possible to make the guy look a little more sophisticated
Thanks
Rick

Abby,
I don't know what is going on
I didn't pick a design? I am having trouble finding the logo page where the logo is listed. I wanted to develop the logo with Christian some more.
Help me to understand
Rick

Christian

Hey Rick, good to hear that. I was told that you had already picked a designer, but someone would get in touch with you to see if this was the case. No one has gotten back to me yet, but I take it that this post from you is all that's needed to clarify that you have yet to pick a designer. So you'll have additional designs from me tonight.

Thank you,

Christian

Hey Rick, here are a few variations. I've got the whole day set out for this, so feel free to reply asap and you'll see variations promptly. I added a couple of different fonts I thought might* be fitting, so tell me if you want to see them worked in or not.

rabbby
10-10-2006, 07:23 PM
I like the direction you are going
Would you try the guy with a martini glass in his hand
I do like the new fonts you picked - the swirley o's are best for the picture logo but I could see the other fonts on the letter head or business cards
When I finalize the designer do I get all your options
Thanks
Rick

rabbby
10-10-2006, 07:29 PM
Would you try the logo with the guy not holding anything

Also the two colors you used are great - similiar to the colors in the restaurant. The yellow and red are main themes on the walls and we have an accent blue (deep baby blue) - can you work our accent blue in somehow
Thanks

Christian
10-10-2006, 07:30 PM
Great! I'll send you more variations tomorrow night. You can get a few variations, since they're minor. The only thing I'd say wouldn't be included would be different suits for the guy.

rabbby

Christian - Thanks for the options
We are close
Would you try another without the martini in the words
I like the blue martini with the guy and the bowtie the best - keep restaurant and bar in black

I need to make a decal for a sign out front on the road - it is about 3 feet tall and 10 feet wide. I would like to only use words with restaurant and bar being the biggest and Tom Foolery's beneath and smaller. I want people driving by to see that we have a restauarant and make the turn and then see the name on our building - we set off the road by 300 feet or so.
Thanks for the help
Rick

Christian,
I would like to have a picture of a jester that I could put on the door (that isn't an entry door) that would show the jester pointing over to the other door. Could you help with that?
I would like to complete all tomorrow
Thanks
Rick

Christian
10-15-2006, 06:57 PM
Here's the next showing! The jester's definitely possible, we can discuss post-contest. As for the Restaurant & Bar on top of the Tomfoolery's, that can be done in a sec, no problem there as soon as we finish polishing the design.

rabbby

Christian,
I like the logo
I would like to get all pictures so that I can use in various situations
Also, for our Marquis sign I would like to have the red rectangle with Restaurant and Bar up top (large) and Tom Foolery's below (smaller)
Then I think we are complete
Thanks
Rick

Are there other ways of saving these files that I could open with more common software

I also sent .eps versions, did you give those a try? What software do you have?
