We need a new logo for Aventura Design/Build LLC. We design/engineer new houses and then build them. We compete in the upper end of the market.

We're looking for something sophisticated yet simple, elegant yet creative. As I said, we compete in the upper end of the market and would like to brand ourselves appropriately. We'll be using the logo on all web, print, business cards, stationary etc.

I'm somewhat partial to shades of royal blue and silver in the logo, BUT AM VERY OPEN to any new color ideas or elements. Please don't feel locked into the silver/blue if something else looks good.

Deadline is 8/15, but we may end earlier depending on submissions. We'll give everyone at least 24 hour notice if we end early.

Again, we'll be very open minded on this project, so have fun and let your imagination run!!!

Thanks guys, I'm liking what I see so far. I'm having a hard time choosing my favorite of those submitted so far, so here's some individual feedback:

Gig: Strikes me as professional. Can you try a darker shade of blue (royal)? Also (I forgot to specify this from the get go), our state statutes require us to include the "LLC" somewhere in the logo.

Pracus: I personally like it, but since my attorney is having trouble pronouncing the name as it is, I'm afraid distorting the "A" and the "V" will cause more confusion than it is worth. Can you try all caps and see what it looks like?

Medigraph: So far, yours is leading the pack. It strikes me as sophisticated. Do you have a different icon besides the pyramid? I don't dislike the pyramid, I'm just curious what else would look good and still fit the theme. Also, can you try the letters in all caps (keeping the "A" still a bit larger than the rest?) and see what it looks like? Otherwise, I like it.

DraganB: I like the idea, but I'm hesitant on the font---see my comments to Pracus about distorting the letters and the confusion it may cause.

Again, great work so far. I look forward to the revisions.

More feedback:

Deanna: Looks good, the hand was a creative tie-in. Can you change the zebra stripes on the inside of the A? I don't dislike the stripes, I'm just curious to see what else would fit there. Otherwise, looks good.

Pracus, ver 2: Much better. Leave it as is.

Senter: version 1 doesn't really strike me, but I'm thrilled with version 2, especially the "A" icon above the lettering. Can you try a more sophisticated font, such as the one Medigraph used? Also, can you change the orange to a shade of silver or blue? Otherwise, I really like the idea, and I really like the "A" icon.

DraganB: Nice work on both version 1 and 2. I still like version 1, just change the lettering. But the overall layout and tophat idea of #1 appeals to me. Version #2 is pretty sharp, my only suggestion would be to somehow make the "design/build llc" area stand out a little more.

Medigraph: I like the caps. Looks good. Keep it as is unless you come across a different icon that fits the theme better than the pyramid.



To everyone: After reviewing everyone's ideas, I realized I'm somewhat partial to an icon placed with the lettering somewhere, such as what Medigraph, Deanna, and Senter have done. If it works in your design, great, if not then no big deal, but those are the ones that continue to stand out to me.

I'll be sending all submissions to my business partner on Monday for his review, and we'll start narrowing them down by Tuesday. Everyone looks good so far, feel free to make changes or submit new ideas prior to Monday and we'll include them in the final selection phase.

Sorry for the delay in posting results......after discussing all submissions for the last couple days, we've narrowed the 21 submissions down to 4 finalists, but cannot agree on one winner. Therefore, we'd like to extend another 3 days (ending 8/19) and would like to ask the following 4 designers to make the following revisions:

Senter, version 2. We really like the A design above the lettering. We're not sure how it relates to our core business, but its creative enough that we kept it in the finalists. Our hangup is on the coloring. We like the contrast, just not the orange. Can you change the orange to a lighter blue (sky blueish) and then cross the A's?

Medigraph, version 2. Your lettering is our favorite of all submissions. We like the pyramid idea, just not the pyramid. Do you have anything else? We like the gradient coloring on the pyramid.

Unorthodox, version 1. Again, I like the gradient fade. Can you try a darker gray and a slightly bolder blue? Otherwise, leave it as is.

NHR, version 1 Very creative idea, the best tie-in to our core business of the group. Can you lighten up the blue and erase the period from the LLC?

Responses will be much quicker from here on out.

What are you meaning by crossing the A's??

Placing the horizontal dash inside the legs of the A, instead of it looking like an upside down V.

Also, I like the colors of your last revision (version #5, message #29), but the design I was hoping you'd revise was version #2, which is message #11.... But I really dig the two shades of blue on your last revision (#5)---keep using those.

So in summary, I like the "A" design of version #2, with the font and colors of version #5, if that makes any sense--sorry for the confusion!! ;)

I'm really satisfied as is, but to settle my curiosity, can you lighten the blue just a bit? Somewhere in between your first and second versions. I like the gray as is.
