(Admin code added by Palmer - 8752400M)

Site Name: Lawson Steel
Concept
Lawson Steel Fabrication Co. is on of the larger specialty construction company located in Kansas City, MO. Their people were at ground zero immediately after 9/11.
And their existing site is horrible. :P ------->Lawson Steel (http://www.LawsonSteel.com)
(One of their employees tried it in Front Page  )
This will be CF intensive. Pretty much everything on the site is going to pull from a database, and the client will be able to add items in every category (new projects, new jobs, etc.)
What I’ll need from you will come it two phases.
First, I need any submissions before Friday. I’m sorry about the short deadline, but it’s out of my hands.
A qualified submission must consist of:
Site Template, must be CSS (no frames.) Must be cross-browser compatible to Netscape 4.7. (Just a graphical representation is fine. Load time is a factor, so no full page pics, please.) Basic site style (Logo banner, navigation, footer, and in the body there has to be a page header that identifies that page.)

Pages:
Home
Services - 1 sample “service” before Friday
Past Projects - 1 sample “project” before Friday

I'll select a winner on Wednesday, August 6th.

Phase II
The will winner will also need to supply me with:
Job Opportunities – Sample job.

You can log into my site to download a sample project and service you can use for content, a Visio page flow chart, the required fields for each page, and a zip file containing their old page, new pages, and misc. content. (Pics and some text.)

(Although not until around noon tomorrow. Hopefully I've provided you with enough info to keep you going until then.)

He doesn't really know exactly what he's looking for style-wise. I leave it up to your good judgment.
Looking forward to seeing your submissions! Good luck!

Ok, here's the main page template: tell me your thoughts please ;)

Very fast loading
Easy to navigate and clear/consice
Very Easily updatable ( text only )
The template is built with 3 main categories:
Header ( in one table but images sliced [optimization] )
Left bar ( in one table ---> easy to add/remove text )
Main table
footer ( one table )

Koolbrian,
I'm forwarding your template to the client now. If you look in the zip folder you'll find their logo. There may be color changes to match the logo, but no stress. Looks great so far.

koolbrian,

Apparently that's concrete construction in those pics. :) I had no idea.
If you could use some of the pics I supplied, that would be great (both the actual pic in the top right and the architectural pic in the top left.)
Color changes as I'd mentioned. According to his logo (grey, that shade of red. and he seems to like blue somewhat.) That red looks like it could be iffy en masse, so I'll leave it up to your good judgement.
He said cranes are good. Maybe that in the top left. *shrugs* your call.

All:
I'm extending the submission deadline for this contest through Monday. (I had mentioned to my client I'd be getting him at least 2 and hopefully 3 submissions to look at.) The winner will still be selected on Wednesday.
I'm sure most of you are working full time jobs, and I hope the extra coupla days will help.
Thanks to Koolbrian for the early submission. I appreciate it!

My client has had a chance to look over all the submissions. I'd like to thank everyone for kicking in and participating.
Once again a mixed result (I personally had a different favorite), but the client's decided to go with marengo!
Congrats!
Thank you all for your efforts. Please keep an eye posted for additional contests in the near future.
Martin
PS If you have any comments, questions, suggestions about this contest please let me know. I value your feedback.
