(Admin code added by Palmer - 5G9141895E863070L)
Hello,
I am looking for a name for my website and need creative assistance. I do not want to give too many details on the nature of the site, but that's ok because I'm looking for a made-up word anyway (like Coca-cola, Google, Yahoo, Wiki, etc.), so the nature of the site is irrelevant.
The name should preferably be 1-3 syllables, have good alliteration, and most importantly, it cannot already be registered. I will pay for a domain name (with companies such as buydomains.com), but since I don't want to spend a lot, I think a made up name that is not already registered is the best choice.
The name can include a combination of two existing English words or can be a word in a foreign language or a completely made-up word. The word should convey individuality, self-expression, and freedom. Colors can be used in the word I especially like blue.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

I have a few suggestions, these are inspired by the island of Blefuscu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blefuscu), who are in war with Lilliput in Gulliver's Travels, due to a disagreement on how a boiled egg should be broken :) The idea comes from "Yahoo", which is actually a name of a tribe again in Gulliver's Travels.
So my proposals are (all unregistered):
blufux
shnickerdoodle studios

I also have a few ideas for you. All of these are made up words. All the domains are available for either .com or .net
foodley
braguts
foomley
krumptin
whosnu
glickly
Thanks,
Deanna

Thanks for the submissions everyone. Not sure any of them really hit the mark yet, though. Mediagraph seems to be getting closest using an obscure reference to a piece of literature or a piece of mythology. Maybe some part of nature or an obscure place in the world would be good too. Wikipedia may be a good place to crawl through.
My problem with Blefusco is that it may be difficult to spell and remember. Blufux phonetically sounds like the F-word. Mizono is a good easy-to-remember and spell word but sounds way too much like Mizuno (sporting goods).
I would also like to add that I would like to convey simplicity. So individuality, freedom, and simplicity are the main ideas I'd like to convey (not that those words need be used in the name).
Thanks again

Still don't see anything that really rings out. I recently learned that WIKI is hawaiian for "quick" and DRUPAL is dutch for "drop." Foreign languages may be a good place to start. I like the following words...stone, tree, ripple, stripe, kiss, path.
English combinations of these words may be good, but it seems like they're all registered for .com already.

I am extending the due date to October 20. I am looking for the same thing as before. I will give some more details. The website name I am looking for would like a YouTube or MySpace. The website is user-focused. I would like to have some originality, however, but the word does not have to be made-up. I understand that is a difficult process. Combination words and phonetic spellings expressing individuality (you, me, my, etc.), expression, and freedom are preferred. I will likely be using a blue tree as the logo of the website.

Just brainstorming here ( I feel like I'm back in odyssey of the mind:D )
bluto.com (registered but no website up)
stoneblu.com (domain available)
I'll think about it more today and see what else I can come up with.
Thanks,
Cindy

The Puu's I like the use of foreign language, but Puu sounds too much like poo. Not very good to visualize. Thanks for the input Abby -- I like rank.com but unfortunately it is registered already.
I thought of FreeStripe. I like it, but still looking for something better or similar. I like the use of two unrelated words combined.
I can't decide on any of the above because I just can't see people remembering any of them like you remember a Youtube or MySpace, or anything like it. Stoneblu -- not bad. I just don't see people saying it and remembering it though. I'm extending the deadline by a couple more weeks.
