Greetings all!

I've been digging around in the Gallery and feel like this is the best place to get my new DVD covers created. You guys are good!

I'm about to launch a new CD and need a full DVD cover jacket to be designed. (Yes, it is a CD, but I'll be distributing it in a DVD case)

I want the same design STYLE and COLORS as an earlier VHS product that I released. You can view the VHS graphics at...
http://www.123webmarketing.com/frontcover.jpg
http://www.123webmarketing.com/backcover.jpg

[NOTE: The new CD is a DIFFERENT product completely. The above referenced graphics are to show you what design style I want and the colors that I want used for this contest.]

Here are the specifics for the DVD cover jacket

1. The total size should be 10 3/4" Wide and 7 1/4" Tall. The FRONT portion of the cover should be 5 1/8" Wide and 7 1/4" Tall. The SPINE should be 1/2" Wide and 7 1/4" Tall. The BACK portion of the cover should be 5 1/8" Wide and 7 1/4" Tall.

2. The graphics should be high resolution, capable of being printed on a inkjet printer.

3. Specific text for the FRONT portion of the jacket should include: TITLE: Viral Marketing Money Machine SUBTITLE How to Get a Flood Of Sales and Subscribers. OTHER TEXT: Build Your Lists And Profits For Free. AUTHOR: Jimmy D. Brown. There should be realistic looking money on the cover, as well as an appropriate photo of a couple. Again, please refer to http://www.123webmarketing.com/frontcover.jpg I want it to look VERY similar to that front.

4. Specific text for the SPINE portion of the jacket should include: TITLE: Viral Marketing Money Machin. Subtitle: How to Get a Flood of Sales and Subscribers. OTHER TEXT: 2 CDs. OTHER TEXT: Compact Disc (CD logo if available). Graphics should include some realistic looking money.

5. Specific text for the BACK portion of the jacket should include: HEADLINE TEXT: Jimmy D. Brown's Viral Marketing Money Machine. SUBLINE TEXT: How to Get a Flood of Sales and Subscribers. PRICE: $197 TEXT: In this revealing in-depth interview, Yanik Silver and Jim Edwards grill well known viral marketing strategist, Jimmy D. Brown. Jimmy breaks down everything you need to know to create a flood of sales and subscribers by giving away free ebooks on the Internet. TEXT: In this 2-CD set, you will discover... BULLET POINTS: Please insert some "filler" points for now. I don't have that finalized, but will by the time this contest is completed. BOTTOM TEXT: And that's just the beginning!

Again, please refer to http://www.123webmarketing.com/backcover.jpg I want it to look VERY similar to that back.

I'll be checking back several times each day and will post comments as you make your submissions. I look forward to working with you all.

Any questions, just post them to this forum.

Thanks much and letting the contest begin!

-Jimmy

What is the final format that you need? Photoshop PSD, Quark, InDesign? Also, if you already have a printer that you work with, a template would be helpful to insure a print-ready file.

Hi ElKootcho,

Sorry, forgot to mention that. I need the final product delivered as a JPEG, so I really don't care about what software program you use to create it.

I won't be working with a printer. I have an inkjet printer that the covers will be printed from.

Thanks much!
Jimmy

Hello Jimmy,

Can you tell me if the images you placed links for are the EXACT dimensions for your final project? If not, can you please place an image with your desired dimension(width, height) for the cover? Please help.

Thank you very much,
Gilles.

Hi Gilles,

No, the examples are not the same size as this new project. Here are the exact dimensions again from a previous post...

I've uploaded a crude example of what the layout should look like at...
http://www.123webmarketing.com/layout.jpg

It may not be to the exact size, so use the aforementioned dimensions.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!

Jimmy

Here's one based which is basically an update of your previous product but comtaining the current information. Did you want a layout this similar to the other? The couple image is easily changed. It's just something I had on hand quickly.

Waiting for your comments anyway ;)

Thanks very much for the designs! Here is some feedback...

ElKootcho: Looks very good. A few changes and we should be in business here. All of the changes are minor.

1. At the top where it reads "Jimmy D. Brown" please make the box a bit smaller at the top. The border should be the same all around the name, and there should be red background between the namebox and the top of the cover as in the original design at http://www.123webmarketing.com/frontcover.jpg

2. There should also be a slight blue line at the very top of the "front cover" portion of the jacket. Again, please refer to the http://www.123webmarketing.com/frontcover.jpg for reference.

3. Please underline "oney" and "achine".

4. I don't like the couple. They look too young. I need something a bit more professional and businesslike. If you can find a couple a bit older, perhaps that will do the trick.

5. On the text "build your lists and profits for free", please make this a bit larger and include a shadow. Also, can you please add the word "quickly", include a watch / clock graphic and make the words "quickly build" in gold print as well?

6. On the back cover, please make the words "Get a Flood", "Sales" and "Subscribers" in gold print in the headline.

7. The text in the blue box on the background should be justified in alignment, rather than centered.

8. Please make the "and that's just the beginning!" a bit larger than it is now. BTW, I really like it the way you have it without the blue box at the bottom. More emphasis on the money.

9. The spine needs my name somewhere. I also don't want the "2 CDs" in a blue box, or the compact disc logo in a blue box. Someone else had submitted this sample at http://www.123webmarketing.com/sample.jpg The only thing I like about it is the spine. If you can make your spine look more like it ... specifically in the way there is a shadow border, the way the compact disc logo is presented and the way the "2 CDs" is done (Make that a bit smaller) I do like the way you have the title and subtitle, so leave that.

So, that's the changes needed. A lot of little details. Other than that, it looks exactly what I want. The design element is there and I look forward to seeing changes.

For Gilles Le Bon: Please see the notes that I just posted. Also...

1. Do you have another graphic for the money? Or, maybe place a glow around it and have it fade slightly into the background? I think there's "too much" of the appearance of the money.

2. First line in the box at bottom should be "How to Get a Flood of". "Sales and Subscribers" should be the only text on the bottom line.

3. I like the "man and woman" graphic, but don't like it faded into the red background. I'd like it to have some color of its own.

4. I really like the way you did the title "Viral Marketing Money Machine" Looks really good! That's the best title that I've seen so far. Please make both words "money" and "machine" in the gold color.

For Hypnosis: That's a really cool looking design (really, I like it), but I want to stay with the same layout as the examples that I've given in order to remain consistent with my other products.

If you like, please submit a design like the others.

Thanks all!
Jimmy

I've incorporated the changes that you've asked for. (I think I've got them all  ). I used a stopwatch instead of a clock because, to me anyway, the stopwatch says "fast". Can easily change if you wish.

Hi Elkootcho,

Sorry for the delay in writing. I have been in bed for three days with a nasty cold / flu. Not sure how you catch such a bug in August in this 100 degree heat we've been having, but nonetheless, I did.

I'm still not over it, but at least I can think straight. So, I want to finish up this project. Again, I apologize for the delay.

There are only a couple of changes that I need to your layout and then we'll close it out and get you paid.

1. Please change the "couple" graphic. These two look a bit too old. Especially the woman. If you can make a couple of different options for me to choose from that would be great.

2. Please change the title to "Viral eBook Secrets" (lowercase "e" and uppercase "b" in "eBook"). We have decided to change the title. "Viral eBook" will replace "Viral Marketing" and "Secrets" will replace "Money Machine" as far as the way you have the design.

3. I am enclosing the bullet points below for the backcover...

*How to generate website traffic, build enormous lists, get your name branded all over the web and automatically grow your online business ... without spending a penny! You'll discover the exact same system that I use to pull in a huge six figure income every year!

* An easy-to-use, 6-step system for creating "automated profit generators" that pull in sales and subscribers around the clock on autopilot. That's the beauty of this program ... once you setup these viral ebooks, they take care of the rest themselves automatically!

* How to get folks to REQUEST your viral ebook, READ your viral ebook and RESPOND to the offers inside your viral ebook. Access specific strategies that you can immediately use to get people to do all three!

* The exact formula for actually making money by giving away free ebooks...it's not enough to put together a free ebook - you gotta know how to get people to pass it on and how to actually profit from distribution.

* The do's and don'ts of viral ebooks...I'll share five mistakes I've made with viral ebooks that have caused me tremendous headaches and lost profits...so you can avoid them at all costs! NOTE: These are simple things that you'd never think of in a million years.

That will get things wrapped up. Everything else looks PERFECT. Great job!

Also, within a week or so, I will have another design for you to do. It will be the EXACT SAME LAYOUT AND COLOR SCHEME as this one, with just the wording changed. So, your work on this one will actually get you some easy money on the next one. :-)

Thanks!
Jimmy

I chose some "random" words to highlight yellow. Just let me know which you prefer.

Hi Elkootcho,

Actually, this version looks great! Love it. There's no need for you to offer other options, this one will work perfectly.

I'm not sure how to do this, since it is my first experience with Design Outpost, but you are obviously the "official winner" of this contest.

I'd like to finish things up here and get you paid. And I'd like to get the actual files for this project so I can print them out at actual size and read everything through before final approval. It's all blurred on this end at the size of the file attached in these posts.

So, where do we go from here?

Thanks for a great project!
Jimmy

One more thing, Elkootcho...

Would you be able to design a matching CD label? If so, we'll get that in the works too.

Thanks!
Jimmy

All you do is declare a winner by posting the name of the winning designer on the forum so everyone can see. Since you've done that, the contest is over and you and ElKootcho can work out the details of the revisions and transferring the files.

Thanks Jimmy :) Congrats Kootch

Hi Elkootcho,

Works great! Thanks very much. Everything looked perfect.

Could you please send the actual file as well? (photoshop, etc ... whatever program you created it in)

Also, I am going to need the CD label designed. I won't have the exact measurements for it until tomorrrow (I'm buying a new labeling system) so I'll get back to you then.

Thanks much for a great project!
