Hello. I've had 5 successful logos created here, so I am back for another. This logo is for a new site, WorldGlobesPlus dot com, which is not built yet. Please no more than 3 colors, nothing too bright. Nothing cartoonish. I am looking for a simple, modern looking logo that creates the notion that a globe is a classy gift item or part of home decor.
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
WorldGlobesPlus

What type of product or service do you offer?
World globes - desk top and floor globes mainly.

How long have you been in business?
6 years, but this is a new site

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Create a professional image - to encourage visitors to purchase through us, not our competitor

What are your long term goals?
Make a lot of money!

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Oct 13th. I orginally went through logoloft and was not happy at all. Should have come back here first, but now I am down to the wire!

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
College educated, middle to upper class

Who would you like to add to your audience?

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Sophisticated with a modern feel

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Earthy colors. The antique style globes with brown tones are popular, so I would like brown to be the main color, with blue

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
a world globe or a compass rose

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, invoices, business cards

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
worldglobes dot com: I like the blue color, not black. It's simple but too cartoonish. onlyglobes dot com. I like the simplicity of their logo, but it is boring

List competitive URLs if possible
worldglobes dot com
worldwideglobes dot com
onlyglobes dot com

Medigraph: Wow - this is a terrific start! I absolutely love your color choices I am leaning towards version 2. Please change one thing: most globes come with the meridian (metal half-circle on side of globe) tilted at an angle of 23.5º to match the actual tilt of the earth in relationship to our sun. Could you tilt the meridian slightly? here's a link to show what I mean: http://www.worldglobes.com/table-top-globes/traditional/products.cfm?action=view&key=OHL025

Thank you!

Deana - it's great representaion of a globe, but a little too cartoonish for what I am looking for.
Titania - can you show me this with the globe only used in the "O" in the word "globe?"
Freetime - I'm not getting the cross...makes me think of global aide.
Carol - I love the elegance of this logo. Great job with the compass rose, although I'm afraid it may look like stained glass to someone who doesn't know what a compass is. I'd be interested in seeing your attempt of a world globe, in the same style and layout as this one. Maybe have the colors a bit more saturated?

Senter: I really like this. I can't think of anything I'd change.
Titania: Thank you, this is better.
Djaka: I just realized that the "cross" is a "plus sign." I don't want the plus incorporated into the logo. I do like your different take on the globe, but I'm not crazy about the brownish-green color or the font.
Medigraph: speaking of font, can you show me version 3 in some different fonts?
Thank you!

Medigraph: one more thing, can you add a simple base to the bottom of your globe and change the color of the meridian and base to color #464 ? Stick with font from Version 4, 3rd one down.
Senter:thank you for trying another color, but I'd like to stick with the brown. Maybe try a different brown?
Freetime: It's interesting, but not exactly what I'm going for.

Thanks Medigraph - looks good!
Carol - I really like this one, but I would like to see it with some deeper colors. This looks sun-drenched to me. Very nice otherwise!

Thanks Carol - looks great. So many terrific entries, but I have to say we've narrowed it down to Carol, Senter, and medigraph. I will make a decision by Friday.
If anyone wants to throw any other variations out there, I will be checking back periodically! Thank you!

Thank you Senter. Looks good.
Carol: can I see this with brown in a darker shade for the stand/meridian with the same globe colors as version 3? Also, I'd like to see Version 2 as is, except change the brown to a darker color. I like the globe colors soft, but want the "hardware" and font bolder. Please show me as many color variations as possible.
Thank you
