Hey Guys,

I need a new logo... been a while since I have been here... and it looks like things are a little busier.... way to go palmer!

Anyways... as for logo....

Requirements:

- White background
- 3x longer then height
- 300 dpi (this will be used for print)
- 3 colors black being one of them
- Vector Art

The company name is Detroit Networks, website address is detroitnetworks.net, so if you want to incorporate the .net into, that is fine...

Other then those requirements.... have some fun.... $75 to the winner...

Can you tell us about the company?

Yeah, sure helps, and any idea about the deadline?

Deadline is up in the air, my desire is that it be completed in the next week, so by the 13th... but that may change... the company is a technology consulting company, not much else to offer in that line.... total creativity is up to you :)

I've already started on a design. Don't worry--you're not forgotten. And I'm sure I'm not the only one working on this one.

JulieT, looks pretty good, try introducing a second font for detroit or networks, and maybe make the text black.... try a few variations of the graphic too...

dynagirl, the bottom one is really strong, with the top one, try making detroit networks all lower case and invert the graphic next to it...

I did an additional variation on the second one here of stretching the graphic:

Eh....looks better... the font is great but the boxy graphic is not doing anything for me yet.... try some variations...

Also... here are some sites whose logos i really like...

http://www.sho.com

http://www.architecturemag.com/architecture/index.jsp

http://www.visitdetroit.com/

http://www.detroit.net/

http://www.dmc.org/

I also would like some of the designers to give thoughts on their work as well as others work.... What all of this amounts too is that I am not really all that sure what I want, so I am looking for someone to strike a nerve with an idea and roll from there...

Here are three initial ideas. Please let me know if of them catch your attention. Thanks :D

I really like the middle one on the right... anyway to see that a little bigger... and would the finally version be 300 dpi so that it is print friendly?

Detroit - Renaissance inspired, with a bit of motor city funkiness.

OK here is the middle one enlarged and on a business card idea. :D All the work is done in vector format and can be resized and converted to any resolution you like.

Radical seed, could I see that design with a few different fonts for the detroit networks side... like the one you used on the top left design of your original submission...

Tyler

Here a couple text changes. The top is the one you said you liked. :D

Right now it is a toss up... I can't decide what I like better, Julie T's design #4 or yours radical seed... can you guys both make a few changes to those designs and see what you come up with?

Julie

Here are modifications in color, spacing and position. Suggestions are welcome--if you like something from one and another aspect from another, I can easily bring them together if you can tell me what it is you like.

Thanks,

Julie

Um which one of mine do you mean?? The blue "D" wrapped around the skyline, or the skylines with the tread-like text??

The one that I asked you to blow up, the one where you did sample business cards...

I think dynagirl is the winner provided that the design can be provided in 300 dpi format suitable for print and we can still play around with the fonts a little bit..

Great :)

No problem on both counts (300dpi and working on the font). I'll send you a PM so we can work on it.
