Looking for something exciting that shouts out that I am someone people should/must consider. I am a photographer, but that is more the means to the end, which is the post-processing that I coined "The Next Step." This is what to do with the pictures to make them works of art. My website: www.cavalherigroup.net.

I'm so excited to have found this website and I look forward to hearing from you.

Here are the answers to the questions:
Company Name
Cavalheri Photography

What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Just the name is fine

What type of product or service do you offer?
Photographic services and what happens to the photo after its taken (i.e. end result should be a piece of artwork that someone is proud to hang, or should be something used in personalizing: for instance new home, birthday, graduation, etc)

How long have you been in business?
Just started

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Brand recognition, to be used in any and all communication, advertising, etc.

What are your long term goals?
To establish my company as a leading professional photographic service provider. To have the respect among peers. To provide quality service at an affordable price, maybe even to sell some of my photography to hang on people’s wall

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Would love to have it by Sunday November 19th.

What type of logo would you like?
Open to suggestions and the creativity of the designer. Something professional that indicates excitement, professionalism, enthusiasm.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Not really. Love the black and white look, but am open to any suggestions

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Please feel free to add your own creativity into this.

What is your tagline or slogan?
Take the “Next Step” (which is what I call the step after a photo is taken), but don’t necessarily need to have this as part of my logo, but…..if it fits the moment, I’m for it

Where will your new logo be used?
Everywhere: biz cards, websites, letter heads , water marks on photos etc.

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Children in need of professional headshots

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Teens, adults, and children who need something other than headshots. Art lovers???? Maybe someone who will buy a photography book that I might put out in the future?

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
(Not that I’m asking too much … but) Want people to have the logo identify me and bring my services to mind

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Think of me when you want something more than a photograph.

Competitive Positioning:

Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Typically my competitors will have either a lens or a filmstrip as part of their logo. I don’t mind repeating that, but I’m OK with just a plainer or different look that also brings out my designer capabilities into it.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
One stop shop. Once our photo session is over then we work together to do something exciting and creative with your photo(s)

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:

Photography with a soul

First, thanks for the designs, I'm liking what I see already. At first glance I like nhr's concept in that it gives me a more modern, clean look. I would never have thought 'pink' but I like in that it would appeal to women who are really the main consumers of my service. I went through some of the Modern Art Photography logos and three stood out for me: Ruairi's, Splinking's and Bill's. Thanks again, you are all very talented.

Of all the ones posted, the only one that is out of the running at this point is message #5, I keep going back and forth on the rest of them. I'll try to identify what works or doesn't for me, if I can.

On the red one, can you try making a very thin shadow on the Cavalheri in gold and adding outlining the P O O R P Y letters (which are in the red box) in gold as well. Thanks.

Ok, what I did was take a facsimile of each of the logos and 'added it to one of my pictures as a 'gallery signature'. Here are the ones that worked: 9, 16, 17, 18 and 19. I wanted 20 to work but it just struck me as 'less modern' than the rest. I like 19 because it gives me an icon to play with. But I also really like the thinness of the others. 15 is too close to 9 and I still keep going back to 9 as one of my favorites. I hope that helps. I just asked my husband his opinion and an observation he made about 16-18 was that it was hard to read.

My son suggested that the 'double' 'c' was distracting. I kind of like the squiggly C followed by the lower case C, but maybe you can remove the 'second c'?

Also can you make the letter thinner?

Thanks.

Hi everyone and my apologies for my unintended silence. I am truly overwhelmed by all of the submissions and have been asking everyone I know which they would choose. No one has made my life easier. You are all so talented and I can easily today choose any of them and be very happy doing so.

I guess I've been doing something wrong, since I've asked for changes and suggestions and didn't get them, so here goes:

Message #9. May I see that in a red family? or a royal blue?
Message #16: Is there anyway that it can be made more readable? People find it hard to read.
Message #31: Can you reverse the colors? Where it's red, make it black, etc.
Message #15: Thicker swoosh? Maybe a bit curvier on the Cavalheri, make the C stand out a bit more. Maybe curve the photography? I do't know. Maybe you can help?

Thanks all.

Cindy, can you try something for me? How would the word "photography" look if it was on and followed the swirl of the i in Cavalheri? Also can you give add a little shadow on the C?

11-16-2006, 09:08 PM
Here you are, I took a little liberty with the shadow, and just used a wet brush... I can do it more traditionaly if you like. I have a couple more ideas coming too.
Thanks,
Cindy :D

Hey Cindy. Thanks. I still like your first version better (#35). I would like to see the shadow (I guess more traditionally, like you said) either in front of the C or immediately behind it AND under the swoosh either above it or below it. One last thing, can you make the work Photography darker? Thanks

Cindy, instead of shadowing all around, may I see it just on the C (similar to #33) and underneath the swoosh. I also liked the SIZE of Photography from message 35, I just want to see it darker.

Thanks again.

OK, my friends and acquaintences have just about had it with me. I've taken to even asking strangers what they thought. SO....I think it's time to get closer to making a decision, which I vow to do tomorrow. I am down to two designs. Cindy (Splunkings) and J. Johnson's (Blue Cherry Graphics). I really want to thank the rest of you for your talent and wish you continued success. Thanks again for everything.

Alright, now down to business: I love the combination of both of these. I like the brush stroke concept of the C in Jennifer's deign and the ease in reading the name of the company. Cindy I like the modern feel I get from your design and how it looks on my photos.

Jennifer I had copied a reply rather than posted a reply last week (which I gather never got to you) where I asked if I could see the logo in a rust/reddish color. May I?

Cindy: Can you try a brush stroke effect under the swoosh and in the 'belly' of the C. I would say muted and much smaller in size than the shadow in version 4C.

Thanks.

Cindy, I'm really loving #50. Could you just show me #48 and #50 with a more solid 'V". From a distance it looks like an "n". Once we're done with that, I'd like to make sure I can download it and that you're paid.
Thanks.
