Deadlines and Deliverables

As soon as we can find a design that represents the user functionality that we have outlined in this document as well as the attachments. ASAP Please! We are anxious to choose a design and move forward quickly!

3b) What is required breakdown of the files you require our designers to supply you with on finalization of your project?
The development firm working on our site will need Adobe Photoshop PSDs with layers preserved. All fonts that are used as part of the design will need to be provided as part of the final work if not standard TTF. We will be looking for a PSD for our home page, the category pages, our shop by brands pages, shopping by phone brand / model pages, our learning / content center. All in all that will be 4-5 separate PSDs. We will also need a button theme PSD so we may create all of the associated buttons to match the theme of the site.

3c) Are there any other comments/specific ideas we should keep in mind while designing your project?

The site will need to be 800x600 compliant. We will want to maximize the above the fold content so the header should be feature filled with what we are looking for in terms of features but also not take up 400 pixels to achieve it.

Hi Sev,

Thanks for sending your ideas! Don't feel constrained by the .jpg of the navigation in terms of button design. We'd love to see something a little edgy and interesting - something that will stand out in a crowd!

Thanks,
e2

Feedback from the client - we are focusing mainly on messages #10 and #11 which are the current frontrunners.

First, on both designs we need the following functionality incorporated in terms of "browsing options" and search options:
Carriers. Phone Brands. Phone Model Search. Product Model Search

"Search" indicated functionality and does not need to be used in the actual text.

Feedback on Message # 10: Brian
LOVE your navigation concept here. Very tight.
Can you please incorporate a bottom footer that looks like Ebags - with customer service options/site usability options
Can you use something other than underlines to indicate links throughout the homepage?
Can you please move "Search By" up?

Message #11 from Elena
We love your use of color throughout this page. It draws the eye and breaks up the page and is a friendly design.

What does the page look like when the Login is complete? Can we incorporate the login someplace else so it doesn't take up so much space. We like the idea of maintaining a consistent navigation across the board so perhaps we could move the login alltogether and establishg the consistent navigation and header right at the home page? Overall we would just like a slightly tighter header/navigation that takes up less space.

Can you incorporate a bottom footer that looks like Ebags - customer service options.

Pull little arrows over to right hand navigation to mirror what you have done on the left?

We like the use of both tabbed and bar in the navigation so consider that in your revisions.

Can we soften the middle section - where you are using the blue bars by having those "fade" like you did the green bar? Additionally, can we try colors other than green? Perhaps a faded orange that would work with the blue?
Can we have sharper corners on the boxes in throughout the page, beveled edges are harder to incorporate for us.

Thank you!

Elena

Hi Elena!

Next round of feedback from the client.

1. We would like to replace ALL green text on the site with this orange (C 0 / M 40 / Y 100 / K 5) or (R 242 / G 145 / B 0)
2. Upper section
a. The “Account” section at the top, that includes, View Cart, Account Info, Order Status, Sign Up – please remove the outline and the green color from the background and please make the text the orange color we mentioned above.
b. We would like to see the tabs, Categories, Carriers, Brands, FAQ and Contact is be smaller and “thinner” – not so much space above and below.
c. We are looking to make the upper section tighter (less open space) without making it feel cramped so please remove some of the space above and below all the text to make it less “padded”
d. In the dark blue area under the tabs – remove the phone # and replace it with “Wholesale Only” centered in the bar.
e. We have attached a revised navigation idea to the project. Please create one version with the revisions you see above and another version incorporating the potential navigation redesign we have attached,
3. Left Navigation area
a. Tighten up header boxes also (Accessory is spelled incorrectly) – Please remove space from above and below the text box “Accessory Categories”
b. We would like you to remove the outline boxes around both Accessory Categories and “Accessory Brands”. We want a more “open feeling” to the design.
c. Move all of the small arrows to the right of text in both be menus.
4. Center area
a. Feature Item area – no blue background around text – Are you guys sure about this? I thought you liked her inclusion of color? This seems to be removing all color from the design?
b. Tighten up header box – Please remove space above and below all Headings including: Featured Item, Featured Sub-Cat, Featured Transfer, New Phone Tracking Group and Featured Brand.
c. Please remove the outlines from around all of these areas (both the large featured items and the smaller features, except for around the headers We thought a simple line, or thin cross line might be sufficient delineation if it really needs it…
5. Right Navigation area
a. Tighten up the header box – remove space from above and below Account Login, What’s New, Promotions and Resources.
b. No boxes around Account Login, What’s New, Promotions or Resources except for around the headers.
c. Please move the arrows to the right of the text as we asked on the left navigation.

Thanks,

Blair

Ok, working on that! But it seems like design is going to be black & white after that :D

P.S. Interesting, why is this project still here and has no [Designer Chosen] mark?

Hi Elena,

Can you do me a big favor? Send me the current .psd files so my developer can start his work while we finalize the details with the client?

It would help me out a lot.

Hi Elena,

One design 1 (Message 28) - which I think we are going with...

1. All the header boxes disappeared. We like the header boxes as they were, we just wanted them a little smaller, can we please have them back?
2. It looks like the blue gradation in the right side navigation area has disappeared. We would like to have it back please.

Hi Elena,

Couple of small things. Can you put the header boxes and color back around: - can you do one example using the green in Featured Item and one with an orange-y color??
* Featured Subcat
* Featured Transfer
* New Phone Tracking Group
* Featured Brand

Also, can you remove the color shading from:
* Item Code
* Brand
* Category

under the featured product?

Thanks,
Blair
