Awesome opportunity for design artist to work on a Project connected to DreamWorks Pictures, the maker of the Shrek
animated movies!

We make Kid Safe Browsers to help protect Kids on the Internet. We are in the process of signing an agreement with
DreamWorks to do a Shrek Theme for the release of a new movie coming out!

Any designer interested in being awarded this project, please submit a theme mockup for our Shrek theme. You can visit the sites www.dreamworks.com, www.shrek.com, www.shrekthethird.com to get ideas/graphics for your mockup. The design needs to be so cool that all the kids will love it and want one!

The mockup should not be specific to any of the 3 Shrek movies, but just Shrek in general using the various characters/images from the movies.

The mockups need to consist of the following:

1. Top graphic with browser navigation buttons (Back, Forward, Home, Refresh, Stop, Print)
2. Left side bar with various buttons to access predefined web sites.
3. Bottom graphic with action buttons (Themes, Setup, Surf, Email, Help, Exit). Each of the buttons will have different states (Up, Down, MouseOver) so you can be as creative as you want with these, such as having an image on the up state that changes to show the name of the button on MouseOver, etc. You can then show the different states in the mockup.

The more detail we can see in the mockup the better when we present it to DreamWorks.

You can view our existing browser screenshots at http://client.childrenseducationalnetwork.com/Themes/content/Default/themes.asp. This will show the layout we use for themes.

You can also visit our site, www.tuki.com, and register for the free version of our browser.

The winning mockup will be paid $200.00 for the final graphic set that is needed to create the theme for the browser. We'll deliver an exact theme specification requirement document to the winner. The sooner your mockup is submitted, the better your chances of being awarded the project.

I'm sure once a winner is chosen, the images will be replaced by official hi-res press images from the movie.

As far as the rollover/press effects: I thought the wooden panels could tilt and the green buttons at the top could become coloured.

Extra vertical menu items can be added all the way down to the group image. Just let me know what you want there.

It has been over two months since your last post stating you were in review of the designs. Can you please update us on where your project stands, and if you are not ready to finalize, I will need a new project due date from you.

Greetings everyone, sorry for not keeping up on this project. Ken was sufferinbg from poor health and has been hospitalized for over a month. He is recovering and I will be taking over his duties as Art director.

This project is still active and we need to finish it soon. All of the designs were very nice but we need to stay current to the Shrek internet products and they have redesigned their website. If anyone is still interested we will continue this project and we ask that you create the browser interface to more closely imitate the current Shrek website http://www.shrek.com/main.html . You will notice that it is not as organic and has a more modern look and feel.

You said you were in the process of signing an agreement with DreamWorks. Does this mean we will definately have the right to use official artwork from the movie once the mockups are approved?

Yes, They will be sending us their complete style guide and digital art. The deal is 95% approved, we are waiting for the Dreamworks legal dept to review and ok the contract.

Keep in mind this is not a Shrek3 Internet browser for kids, It is a Shrek Internet browser for kids. This is not necessarly directly related to the upcoming movie, it is more related to the overall Shrek brand.

We are looking forward to your new samples and once again thank you for your patience.

Thanks for the new design. I really like the buttons but as I said Dreamworks would like to get away from the organic feel (Sky, trees wood). So maybe you could try some different backgrounds. I know they still have the sky in the background at Shrek.com but thats what they said they want. We are definitely getting closer.
