G'day!

You can see my web site to see what I have so far at:
http://www.smallfungames.com

I'm fond of the blue used on the site, but not married to it.

While it's important to appear professional, I also want to focus on the "fun". It's more important that the logo would look cool on a t-shirt than slick on a business card.

What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Just the company name "Small Fun Games". It would be nice if the logo could stand on its own without the text as well, but this isn't a requirement.

What type of product or service do you offer?
Casual downloadable games.

How long have you been in business?
1 year

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
I hope to have an identity that I wouldn't be ashamed to market. ;)

What are your long term goals?
To build a company that people respect, a company with a reputation for delivering a quality product, fun experience and personable service.

Please describe your existing audience
Age range is roughly between early thirties to late fifties. Maybe 60% women.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
I'd like to expand into a younger (18-30) audience without losing my current one.

What type of logo would you like?
"Fun" and "Cool" are important.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I'm fond of the colours used on my website (the background blue and white, the logo up there is junk).
http://www.smallfungames.com

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
I don't want the logo tied to a particular type of game. While my only game now is a dice game, I will be expanding beyond that.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
I want my company to be viewed as a place people can go to get fun games that are playable by people who can't commit hours at a time.

Where will your new logo be used?
On my website, embedded in the games. Possibly on t-shirts and other "fun" promotional items.

State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company
My company name says it all: Small Fun Games

Deadline
December 17

I had fun making it so it should be fun at all :)
You can use dice and spots without the text as a logo too.
When is the dealine?

G'day Pracus!

It's not quite what I was looking for. When I look at that logo it makes me think of a company focused on games children, which is younger than I'm aiming. I edited my post above to clarify my targeted age group (18-).

#6:I'm not crazy about the chess/checker board. It implies a certain type of game which I'd like to avoid. The text isn't bad, though maybe a little plain. I'd be interested in seeing it with the first letter of each word being a "Small Cap".

#7: I can't put my finger on exactly what it is about it, but this one doesn't work for me.

#8: This is much more interesting. I think the text may be over-styled though, it hurts the readability a bit too much. The text makes an interesting visual "chunk" on its own. The coloured blocks aren't bad, but they don't really grab me. They might be a bit too colourful.

Not aimed at any of the submissions, but another thing that occurs to me is that it would be handy if the logo was more square shaped since it would be easier to use in a variety of ways. Though if the logo has a text or graphical part that could stand alone, that would work well too.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm working on some other options and will have other revisions.

Here's a revised version of the blocks with simpler type and less color.

Same concept, different type

One more. The exclaimation point could also act as an icon on its own.

Wow, that's some great stuff!

#13, #14. Putting the emphasis on the "Fun" is interesting, but otherwise they don't grab me.

#12 is much improved, it looks good. On the left side of the combined logo, the black outline on the text seems much heavier than anywhere else. It might look better if the left side follow the curve of the text a bit more and showed the blocks behind.

The edges on along the top and bottom seem a bit jaggy, something smoother might be better.

#15: The exclamation mark doesn't really seem to fit. As a company symbol I guess it just doesn't have a strong tie.

#11: I can't put my finger on the exact reason, but I'm really liking the look of it. It would be interesting to see a version that defines the "Small Fun" a little more. Maybe a slight outline or something, nothing major.

Thanks for the comments. Here's the revised cube one. I removed the half tile which seems to help and gives it some more playfulness.

And here's the revised version 3. The outline was a good suggestion. I skewed the letters to give it a playful feel.

#16: It's cute and playful (especially the middle one). A very nice design, but it doesn't quite fit.

#19: It's looking very good. Would it be possible for me to see it with a different colour scheme or 2 on the "Small Fun"?

#20: An interesting design, but I think it sacrifices readability too much.

#21: It's a nice professional design, but doesn't have that "fun" factor I was looking for.

#22: Very interesting. It's a bit lacking in colour though. I'd be interested in seeing a version with some more colour to add a bit more "fun" to it.

#23: The emphasis on the Fun is nice, but it's a bit too much at the expense of the other parts of the name. Multi-game die is interesting, but doesn't really work for me.

#24: The text is interesting, but I'm not crazy about the D-Pad above it.

G'day!

I'd like to thank everyone for their submissions, there were some really great, creative ideas presented. I would not hesitate to recommend DesignOutpost to anyone looking for a logo.

I'm going with #27 by OffbeatDesign. It was an early favourite and while a lot of great ideas came after, it just feels right.

Thanks! Let me know how you want to proceed. Which color breakdown did you want to go with?

After far too much debate, I've decided to go with the top-left (Yellow/Orange) version. I think it's great as it is and doesn't really require any revision.
