Hi,

:help: I need your help! I am in need of a new logo for my landscape installation company located in Southern California. I am redoing my stationery, business cards, t-shirts and promos and am looking for a new image. My company is currently named:

small clipart " Jerry Jones
logo here Landscape Designs"

I am thinking of changing my company name to "Jerryscapes" to be a bit more interesting. I specialize in Landcape Installation (and Design) so I would like to maybe incorporate that image. Or if my current name can be used and look interstiing, I would consider still using it. :)

I have been in the business over 20 years, am a CLT (certified landscape technician) and had a large commercial landscape company that I sold.

I am now concentrating on a niche market of higher-end new home and exisitng home-residential jobs and also work with many pool builders. I do not do small residential clean-up jobs or maintenance. (So no lawnmowers in my logo please).

I would like a logo that is classy, not cartoon-like. But I would like to see all of you suggestions and I have been ighly impressed with the logos I have seen that have been posted here.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Jerry

I forgot to mention my time frame. As my letterhaed is running low, I would like to make a decision by the end of the month! And I also am working on a website that I would like to incorporate a new log into.

Thank you in advance for your interest!

Jerry :)

By the way, to eliminate the wordiness of my company name, I am considering the name "Jerryscapes" in a branded logo form and "Landscape Installation and Design" underneath it.

I would love your feedback and desings on that as it might be easier to do?

Thanks again :lol2: Jerry

Thank you Julie for your design!!! :D

Very artistic, I like the flow of the lettering in your first design. I realize that I said I work alot with pool builders, which I do, but I feel the logos looks like I build them. I do like the curves in the designs (the tiles, the water, the flow).

Maybe "Jerry" could be one font and the "Scapes" could be another....maybe something curvy and green (flowing into more of a landscape theme)? Incorporating "Landscape Installation and Designs" where ever you think it looks best.
This is just a suggestion... I will consider any suggestion.

Since Jerryscapes is a new name.... You can either keep the "s" in lower or upper case...whichever looks better in your creative eye :)

But you are the artist and I like your work... I will be using the selected logo on my cards, stationery, crews t-shirts, advertisiement and brochures and eventually on the website I am planning to build.

Thank you, Thank you for your design..... I was beginning to think I was going to have to keep my MS Clipart logo :(

I have hope now

Flowing lines to represent both water and grass.. simple stylish and easily recognisable.

Hi,

Great talent here! The logos are great ... only requested changes have to do with font and font placement.

I-Design - Very Classy. I like the circle and flowing leaves. I am trying to imagine it on businsess cards, t-shirts...etc. Maybe a diiferent font for Jerryscapes (slightly smaller or maybe taller font style or maybe try putting the text through the graphic, either centered or graphic off to left side? Great job though. Maybe a different green? I trust your eye.

Ondarox - This is a great graphic  . I really like the stationery sample your provided as it gives me an idea what business cards would look like to.... the lower leaf fading, this would work great on my brochures too. I would like to see a different font/design with the company name, the "JER" looks slightly larger than the "RY" in Jerry... I think it is the font style giving this illusion. I would also like "Landscape Installation and Designs" added. Either in the green box graphic at the bottom or even along the top and right side of graphic? Or maybe "Jerryscapes" around the box, and Landscape designs and Installation below graphic? Play with it.... Whatever you think looks balanced!

I look forward to seeing these adjustments! :)

Thanks, Jerry

A different green... and a few different fonts and layouts. Do any of these catch your eye?

Hi Jerry :)

Be really careful of incorporating shadows or gradients (one color blending into another) into your logo - as it may not come out well in print and may cost more (because of the different shades of colors used to make one blend well into the other)

I took a different approach and used a two-color design. This will cut down on printing costs and the circular blades of grass would be easy to recognize.

Hi all!

Sorry I haven't responded earlier to your designs but I have been swamped! What great talent here :D

I never imagined that there could be so many variations in designs. :lol2: ... Here are my comments,

Idesign: I lke 006 and 007. Very Professional look. I like the font combinations ... the Jerryscapes in an Architectual type font and the script-like font blend well with my company name and what I do!

Taldo; I would like your first design to be less blue and more green. Though I work with pool contractors, I do not build them. And the color green goes along with the Landscape Profession, also known as the "Green Industry"
The second design made me think that you could use the design "letter-J like leaf logo" in place of the J in Jerryscapes.... and have it flow in as part of the name? :)

Raja; My favorite is the lower left design you just submitted. I like the green and gold colt combo. I like it's boldness and can imagine it done in embossed gold foil! I would like to see if you can put landscape designs and.... within the green box (to fill the green space). It might be too crowded but I'd like to see it if I can.. This design is very versatile  .

Julie; I like you #8 design. I would like a little time to look at this one before I make any suggestions. It has a nice flow :D ... my wife feels it has a nice softness about it.

Sparkie; The circular blade design is nice, but I want to stay away from the initials JS, since my previous company of 20+ years used my own initials "JP" in the name. And it could cause confusion  (I know you didn't know that until now). So maybe tighten the circle desing and lose the initials. :)

Once again, thanks for all your wonderful designs. I can't wait to see the changes!

Jerry :D

Hi all,

Well I would like to make a decision by Wednesday September 3rd 9 pm PST. Though I originally said the end of the month, I realize that you may have Labor Day vacation plans.

So have a safe and happy weekend and I look forward to your final posts!

Long time, no action on this contest either. As I was scrolling through looking for forgotten contests, I was struck with an idea for this. Again, Palmer is attempting to contact the contest holder.
