Hello,

I have a client that needs a logo for a consulting company named Redcap Consulting. There is really no design that they have in mind - they are hoping that you designers can design from scratch :)

The winning bid prize is $270. The deadline is Dec 14.

Below are the client's answers to some of the guide questions. If you have any questions that will help you in desiging a logo, please ask.

-David

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
RedCAP Consulting Group (Or Redcap) not really sure of how perspectively it
might look with too much text

What type of product or service do you offer?

How long have you been in business?
3YRS

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
BRAND & IDENTITY

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Not really

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Not really

Thanks for the submissions! I hope to have comments/feedback by tonight on designs submitted thus far.

My client mentioned that he likes the simplicity and design of the logo from the 2M website: http://the2mgroup.com/home.htm

Here is the feedback from the client regarding submissions in messages #2-13. For those submissions after message 13 I will get feedback tomorrow. FYI, here is the expanded definiton of my client's demographic: "Real Estate investment trusts, commercial developers, state entities, airport owners etc, architects and bond underwriting agencies from the financial world".

My client also likes the simple but strong Gleeds logo: www.gleeds.com

Client feedback:

Message#5: I like the top design, but can we soften the square R and perhaps be a little more creative with the font on the wording, perhaps underline it or something. FYI, I do prefer the font used on message 11

Message #10 has the right idea, i.e. logo leading the wording, but the logo is not great, again perhaps use the font in message 11, and change the coloring of the logo...and how would it look with a solid color background?

Message#11 i think is very good, but the logo is again quite weak, but it is brought together very well. Can we underline the logo/wording to link it all? and not be so obvious in using red for the font color.

Message#12 is by far the coolest, but it seems more of a creative company's logo, and not a management logo (me thinks i think too much), but it is clean and simple

Message#13 has the right idea, again, if they were to use message#11 font, and can we turn the cap idea into more of a "ring" around the logo? that would be cool

For those messages not mentioned up to message #30, the client isn't too hot on the designs, but please submit any other ideas you might have. There are 3 days left, so please throw your designs in the ring!

Feedback from client:

Message 29; (picture 1) can we make the "consulting group" the length of the logo and in black, and perhaps insert a line between the two, or underline the whole thing; also,
option: can we make the symbol also the logo symbol at the beginning, or in top corner or something. This gives me a "logo" as well as a nameplate identity

Message 13; b&w version is preferable, but what about making the symbol a little smaller with thinner lines; also, how would it look underlined...?or in a more sophisticated font?

Client also requested "to see what logos (as options) would look like in black background and dark orange font" similar to the Gleeds color, www.gleeds.com

From the client: "I would like to see a logo and then the name, (so that the logo is stand alone as it were) but i think, given that redcap is so short, this may not be feasible."

Senter, could you come up with something similar to your design for another DesignOutpost customer: Marlston Consultancy, Version 1.

Thanks again for the new submissions - keep them coming!

I will try to get more direct feedback in a few hours.

I do know that the client is not interested in the hat/cap designs. He mentioned the 'Cap' in the company name stands for 'Capital' (as in monetary), so maybe that will help spark some ideas.

More to come... :)

Since the name is RedCap (one word) do they want initials based on R or RC? Can you please clarify? Thanks.

Eziey: Version 5/message #46 is by far the favorite of all submissions so far. The client was hoping you could make some revisions:

"Can you ask them to justify the 'consulting group' so as to
sit under the length of 'redcap' and a version where 'RED' is small caps and 'CAP' is regular caps... Also, can we make the icon 3-D or shadow?" The client would also like to see how a font similar to message #11 will work with the logo.

Offbeat: The client prefers just 'R'.

All designers: message #46 is the type/style of logo and identity the client prefers. Obeying the rules of the forums, if you come up with alternative designs in the same ballpark as message #46 please post them.

Eziey: Thanks for those revisions, but the client is interested in Version 5 from you (message #46). Your latest posts are Version 4 revisions I think ;)

Can you please make the revisions on Version 5? Also, I think the client would like to see an all capital letter version of the name, but with smaller sized capital letters for 'RED' or possibly just the "ED"

Offbeat: Good revision on your design - I'll see if the client has any feedback.

Thanks!

Well, the deadline is here. Thanks to everyone who participated!

The client is smitten with the logo from Eziey, Version 6. Admins, please move the thread to the revisions forums.

Again, thanks to everyone for posting submissions!

thank you for choosing my design :) is it 6a or 6b?

v42bis
12-17-2006, 01:48 PM
Eziey, it's 6a. The client has asked:

"Can the designer make the top of the logo match up with the top of
the 'CAP' to make a level line? Also, could I see the logo 10% larger?"

Thanks, Eziey. We're almost there.

The client asks: "the width (of 6a.1) is perfect, i would like to see the logo the same length as 5a and compare it to 6a side by side."

sorry for my late reply.got problem with my network connection :( here are the comparison :)

v42bis
12-20-2006, 11:51 PM
I think what the client means is that he wants the height of the logo to extend from the top of the 'CAP' to the baseline of 'CONSULTING GROUP'.

The width is fine, though.

12-21-2006, 06:09 PM

I don't think I'm being clear on what the client wants.

Can you make the logo the _width_ of 6.1a, but the _height_ of 6.1b?

eziey
12-23-2006, 03:26 AM
here are the version (of 6.1a width and 6.1b height) with three different (rc) size:)
