Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
3SmartDads.com

What type of product or service do you offer?
Information for concerned parents interested in raising smart, healthy and balanced kids

How long have you been in business?
We are a brand new company

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Better and more recognizable visible identity

What are your long term goals?
To establish 3 Smart Dads as THE destination site for all parents seeking information on how to be a better influence on their children’s lives.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
January 9

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
We are a brand new business and are looking to build our market

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Parents raising children ages newborn to 18+

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
A light-hearted, fun logo, yet shows that we are a serious resource

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
We are open to designs and colors

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
A play on the idea of 3 Dads, maybe focusing in on 3 faces (loosely play on the idea of the “Pep Boys” type logo)

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Fun and light-hearted. We want our audience to know that there are 3 fathers behind this company that all share the common goal of raising great kids.

What is your tagline or slogan?
“3 ordinary dads raising extraordinary kids”

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Parenting is the greatest responsibility we have with the longest-lasting impact. We we do will affect generations to come. We want to do it well, have fun while doing it, and share what we learn with others.

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, print, business cards, some wearables eventually

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
parenting.org, notmykid.org, parentsroom.org, ontoughjob.org – they don’t have any logos, or are not very good. Doesn’t seem professional.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
We are actual fathers with a common mission, versus one person or corporate websites without a soul.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:

Seriously goofy

Pracus, can you create a logo that adds some personality into each person, again, something that reflects more of a light-hearted/fun logo. Rather than make one larger than the others, equal size would be good.

Logoholik: Interesting concept. Again, can you develop something that can bring out a fun concept as well. Also, can you put the slogan in the logo?

Medigraph: We like version 1.0, and the playful concept from a child's perspective. Can you include the slogan and perhaps maybe a couple of different versions of the child's perspective?

Thank you - great ideas.

Logoholik: Could you provide us with a version of your design with a focus on facial expressions?

Offbeat Design: Can you create a design with the middle shirt staying the same (maybe a red tie), but the shirt on the left more "blue collar", say with a name on a patch on the chest, and on the right a golf shirt.

Medigraph: Can you make the guy on the left more casual perhaps wearing a t-shirt, and the guy on the right maybe doing more of a "a-ha" with one hand under the chin and an index finger pointing up in the air. Also, rather than wearing a tie, maybe more casual and/or wearing a lab coat.

J.Johnson: Rather than 3 smiley faces, a design that shows different personalities, but done in a light-hearted manner?

Thanks again.

Benny

We have decided to move forward with Medigraph's interpretation for our logo. We need to have some minor changes made, what is the next step?

Thank you everyone for your submissions!

Hi Cem:
Thank you for your design. In speaking with the "other 2 smart dads". We like the revision 3.0.

A couple of easy changes:

1. Can we see what it's like if you have the man on the left have some hair?
2. Can you show a different font for the letters? I'd like to keep it light-hearted and "fun"

Thanks,
Benny
