Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
TracTrac
What type of product or service do you offer?
TracTrac offers GPS-based LIVE-tracking. Please see www.tractrac.com for information on the company and the services we offer.
How long have you been in business?
2 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Our primary business area is LIVE-tracking of sport and therefore it is important that the logo conveys action, dynamics and excitement. Furthermore, the fact that the tracking is LIVE is very central to our service. At the same time it is very important that the logo inspires confidence in the company and our ability to deliver a stable and well-functioning technology. Our company and our technology should be regarded as reliable, professional and dependable.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
15th of January
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Our target audience is typically interested in outdoor, endurance sports (cycling, adventure sports, mountain running etc) and we would like to leverage on the tough and sporty image of these sports to appeal to our audience. We want to appeal broadly to people interested in sports or related areas where LIVE-tracking can be used (i.e. we do not want to be seen as a nerdy tech-company)
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Ideally we would want a logo that can be used both separately and in conjunction with the name of the company.
In the powerpoint-file www.tractrac.dk/misc/webpage&logo.ppt you will find some of our ideas about the logo – and the webpage that it should be on.
Page 1 is a model of our current webpage containing our current logo.
Page 2 is a model of how we imagine our webpage will look after redesign.
Page 3 contains some drafts and ideas for the new logo.
The image at the top of page 3 is a draft of how we imagine our text-logo should look (font, colour etc). The two images in the middle is our thought of how imagine that text-logo and graphic logo could be incorporated in each other. The red dot inside the last C of TracTrac symbolises the LIVE-position of a tracked object and the fact that it is inside the C symbolises that it is in focus and at the centre of attention. The image at the bottom is an example of how the logo should be able to stand alone (i.e. not in conjunction with the text.)
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Primarily different shades of blue – and perhaps some red (see above).
The logo should be applicable with just one colour as well. Similarly the logo it should be possible to use just the outline of the logo.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Action, dynamics and excitement.
Reliable, professional and dependable.
What is your tagline or slogan?
Right here. Right now.
..or
Action! LIVE
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
See above.
Where will your new logo be used?
We are currently working on giving our web-page a make-over and in that process we would like a new logo that can be used on the web-page – but in the end it should be suitable for all corporate communication (letter heads, business cards, ads, logowear, posters etc).
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
There are few direct competitors because it is a new business area. Traxu (www.traxu.com) is a direct competitor. Their logo is quite nice because the X and the rings show how Traxu is able to present from the centre of the action.
List competitive URLs if possible

Final remarks:
We have presented some ideas we have about the looks of the logo, colours etc, but please feel free to be creative if you have a unique and elegant proposal for our logo that differs from what we had in mind.
