Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo? Klose Photography

What type of product or service do you offer? Klose Photography is a full service photography studio specializing in weddings, portraiture and lifestyle photography.

How long have you been in business? 1 year

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity? Branding. I need a logo that I can use with all my printed materials as well as on my proofs that I deliver to my clients. I currently have a larger logo for most of my material and a smaller logo for my proofs.

What are your long term goals? LOTS!! By my fifth year in business, I would like to do 30 weddings per year as well as portraiture and lifestyle work.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? I'd like to see all designs by January 5th if at all possible. Minor revisions can take place after this if need be.

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
My existing audience mostly consists of single females under the age of 35.

Who would you like to add to your audience? Older family members (i.e., not just the bride looking for a photographer)

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like? I'd like a logo that is classic but on the feminine side, since my business is woman owned. I'd like the logo to have a "scripty" look to the text while allowing it to be "shortened" to just a single image which would be used to represent the business.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?) Right now I use black, white, and a purple but I'm really open to any and all suggestions when it comes to colors.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo? No. Please feel free to browse my website to get an idea of the type of work that I do. www.klosephotography.com

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? Classic, feminine, not a "cookie cutter" photography studio

What is your tagline or slogan? Klose Photography, a full service photography studio

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? Klose Photography is a one stop shop for all of their photography needs. I want them to know my name and when they seem my logo to instantly know that the two are connected. I want them to "experience" photography and the many feelings that result from it.

Where will your new logo be used? Website, proofs, printed materials, etc.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos? There are a lot of photographers in my area. Some have dedicated logos for branding/marketing purposes and others do not.

List competitive URLs if possible
www.thewiebners.com
www.amandakraftphotography.com

What sets you apart from your competitors? While we are all similar, I'm fresh and new to the business and therefore am a little more of a free spirit and risk taker.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company: Don't imitate...differentiate. Lead...don't follow. You get the point.
:P

Thanks. I'm looking forward to see the designs. This is a long time coming for me and it's time to turn it over to the professionals. Feel free to ask questions.

Not sure if you're open to photographic icons or not. Here's a first concept.

Wow. I'm blown away by what you all have come up with. After spending some time with the initial concepts, here's what I think:

Offbeat Design -
I like Version 4 but it looks like an "h" rather than a "k". Can you make it look more like a K?

J.Johnson -
I LOVE Version 4. I'd like to see if you can get the K and the L by itself to look more like a K and a P. I'd like to just use the K and P sometimes.

Logoholik -
I like Version 2. I'd like to see it in more feminine colors.

Overall, these are a good start. What I would like to see a little more of is a more whimsical/artistic aspect to the logo. I currently have a butterfly in my logo and while I don't have to stick with that and don't exactly want to since there is another photographer using a butterfly, I wouldn't mind seeing some examples of logos that incorporate something along these lines.

Again, thanks. I can't wait to see more.

Cyndi

Here's an idea for a "non-butterfly" :) whimsical icon.

The original 'kl' didn't look right, but I think this lowercase 'kp' worked out much cuter anyway.

Thanks for all the revisions. Before I make my decision, I'd like to see one more thing:

J.Johnson -
In version 10, can you get the dragonfly in the loop of the K in the kp?

Logoholik -
In you color revisions, can I see purple and green?

Thanks!

Logoholik -

It was version 4 that I'd like to see the purple and green on.

Thank you to all who have submitted logos for me to look at. They were all very nice but I've decided to work with J. Johnson and Blue Cherry Graphics.

J. Johnson - I will send you a PM.

Thanks again!
