I have a new business related blog for which I need a header! The blog is related to financial reportwriting software. It is www.frxbuzz.com, and I need the title and the tagline to show up as an image.

My only thoughts have to do with the text portion: a serif-y font for FRxBuzz, perhaps Rockwell and perhaps black, and a sans-serif font like frutiger linotype for the tagline, perhaps in a darker green than the margins of the site.

For an image, I want to avoid a too-obvious 'bee' reference. Other than that, my only thought is a small cartoon-esque pile of cash (since this is financial software).

Regarding size, there aren't any real restrictions, but the text that is on the site now just looks too skimpy. So I'm thinking a bit larger and maybe a bit more white space top & bottom.

Readers are CEOs, CFOs, Controllers, so I need something upscale and classy, but still fun if that makes any sense at all! Thanks in advance!

Hi! Here's an idea.

Thanks Luc! Since the main part of the page will change depending on what the viewer is reading (I have used some really wide images), I'm guessing that the background should be white (or better yet, clear), so the text should contain the colors. That way, there wouldn't be white space on the right side of the border when the page goes wide.

Other than that, I like the font for the tagline, but the main font isn't it. No coins but the stack of cash is a maybe. Maybe just a drawing for cash? I saw one that I liked at linotype.com, in symbol fonts, ornaments numbers...pinxit.

BTW, like www.bloglines.com: like the simple font and the drawing of the newspaper. Thank you!

Ok, here's another one.

Thank you Luc! Getting much closer!

Could you change the FRxBuzz name to black, and another font change, something with a serif?

Tagline font looks good I think.

Re the shade of green, it's a little too bright for the background green of the existing site. If you could tone that down a bit that would be great.

Also, I would like to think about going with clipart of a chart instead of cash. I've attached one that I will purchase if we go with it. Would like to see the bars in the chart a 'money shade of green' (sort of a black-tinged sage green).

Would like a completely clear background so that you can't see where the image begins and ends.

Would like to see the clipart image to the left of the text, and both pieces of text left justified.

Thank you so much!

Thanks all! Getting much closer!

I'm uploading a drop shadow font that I love. Could you give this font a try?

Bogglins: very cool chart but I do like the other one better. I don't mind buying it but thanks for the option! If you could switch to it that'd be great. And I like the 2nd image that fades to clear on the right.

Luc, could you stick the chart on the left and left justify the name & tagline?

Thanks again for great work!

How about this font

Wonderful! Thanks everyone for all the help! I guess this has been a little more than 'simple'.

Luc, could you put the chart straight on instead of tilted? I'd like to try it without the horizontal line, and again a different green...could you make it a deeper darker version of the background on the frxbuzz website? Oh, and the 'R' in FRxBuzz should be capitalized.

Would you guys be able to change the red on the chart to purple?

Thanks again everyone. Should have decision later today!

And the prize goes to Luc! But thanks Bogglins and Twisted for some great work. Twisted, really liked the subtle green on the chart.

I've got a couple of small things to change in the revisions forum.

Thanks all!!!

Hi Luc,
Thanks for all your help! I just have a couple of changes. See Twisted's image in message #15 above? He/she has a different, darker shade of purple for the bars in the chart, as well as a very subtle green at the top of the chart. Could you duplicate that?

Also, the background green on my site is hex E0EDC5. Could you use a darker shade of that for the tagline?

Last but not least, I have purchased the clipart but don't see a way to upload it here. But do you even need the files? If so, which one do you need? I have several different filetypes.

That's it! Thanks again...lenoir

Hi Lenoir,
jpg, gif, or vector format will do for me. You can upload the file by clicking on "Reply to Topic" button or in the Quick Reply box below, there is a button called "Go Advanced" Scroll below to "Additional Options" box and click on "Manage Attachments" button. I hope that helps. :)

This was the last revision I made, which was on Message 24. I incorporate the image you attached. http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showpost.php?p=249143&postcount=24

Sorry my fault!! Turns out I was incorrectly logging into the conversation that didn't have any images showing, so I didn't see your image until you provided the link above.

Could you change this:
1. Bars in the chart: the three bars on the left should be the same shade of purple as the bars on the right.
2. Straighten the chart just a hair by bringing the bottom left corner down.
3. Could you use this hex color for the tagline 'The FRx Tips, Tricks, and News Blog'? Hex 669900.

I think that will do it! Thanks again! lenoir
