(Admin code added by Palmer - 3KU76785B9446243V)

I am new to this process. I have done the pay-pal part, what is the next step in getting a logo designed?

Some info:

Company name: FHI Windows, FHI Vinyl Windows

Info: We sell and install new construction and replacement windows.

You answer the questions in the Logo Design Assessment found here:

Then wait for an admin code to be posted so the designers know for sure you have paid.

Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?

FHI WINDOWS

What type of product or service do you offer? Doors and windows, sales and installations

How long have you been in business?
10 years

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
a logo that will tell people who we are and what we do

What are your long term goals?

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
No set deadline, I can't imagine setting a deadline and settling for something that I do not like. Likewise my dream logo could appear today.

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience

Home owners

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)

Colors that will stand out in a dark background (navy or green background)

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo? I do not want stock window graphics--need something original and attractive.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Quality, so nothing based on a cartoon

What is your tagline or slogan?

Price, Quality, Service, Pick Any Two. Not sure if I want this in the logo.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? We sale and install windows

Where will your new logo be used?

Business cards, lettering on trucks and trailers, shirts, web-site........

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Have not found a competitors logo that impress me.

List competitive URLs if possible

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Highly trained staff, quality staff-background checks, drug tests, full insurance, lifetime warranty products---we sell and deliver value.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company: Same as last statement but customers can not relate to the statement.

Our web-site is www.fhivinylwindows.com www.fhiwindows.com www.fhidoorsandwindows.com www.newwindowguy.com

I will more than likely use the www.fhiwindows.com for this logo.

Wow, small world, huh? I see you're in Foxboro. If you ever want to sub out work in the Warwick/Cranston area, please let me know.

Oh, I see on your site that you don't use subs. I can respect that. Maybe if there's a job that's too small or you don't have time for, you would consider giving them my contact info... I can't wait to see how your website looks with the new logo.

Wow, did not expect responses so soon. I like the idea of having a window in the logo so people will know that we are a window company. If you folks can work with the idea of having a window but not having it look plain and square......hard to explain. Post #10 almost creates a window in the logo which is cool but I am not sure how many people would catch on to that. Post #12 is the idea that I want to get accross, but is to basic. Post #11 is nice and the window is not so boxy. Is there a way to make to logo flow from the square boxy standard format?

Sorry if I am all over the place.

I like post #16, is there a way to extend some of the starburst outside of the box? Also can you make the starburst yellow and the window part a constasting color?

Blue Cherry, for some reason that star burst in post 18 looks like someone shot the window with a paint ball gun. Post 20 is what I asked for but for some reason it looks almost like an X like "no windows".

Yes, I agree; that's why I did the original one like I did in reference to size/position/color. :)

Senter, could you try the same desgn with the FHI on top and the windows on bottom?

Logoholik, I am looking for a window that is not a stock clip art but not so abstract. I want 90%+ of people looking at the logo to understand that it is a window. The other thing is that I do not want the logo limited to a "box", need something that will flow from the logo.

Wow, these are getting better. I will have to run these by a few people over the next couple of days. So far #36, $41, #42 are what I am looking for. I am not sure about the colors since my trailer, site signs and banners are yellow and our shirts are navy blue and forest green.

Re #57, Everyone in my office likes this one so far. Couple questions:

#1 The logo looks very good in a small format, when I enlarge it (for the back of a shirt) the window seems a little plain jane. Is it possible to have 2 logo's one with more detail on the window so it will look better in a larger format?

#2 When the logo is enlarged the resolution is not that great, how can we overcome this?

#3 Will I be able to edit the colors on my own? The green on yellow looks great but I am getting a mixed response on the green on blue.

#4 How many different format will the design come in? My banner printer mentioned a couple of different one and Isee a bunch of different ones on-line.

Answer 1: Sure, I can do a more detailed version, let me work on it. If looks good once scaled down, it can be the official logo.

Answer 2: It's normal since the logo is in a JPEG format 500px x 500px 72 DPI. Once the logo approve, you will receive and .EPS format that can be scaled up or down as you want, without losing any quality.

Answer3: If you have Illustrator software, you will be able to edit it as you want, in the case you don't have the software, I will be happy to adjust colors without additional fees.

Answer4: The logo will be provided in .EPS, PSD, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, and GIF. These are the major formats. If you need another one please let me know, it's only one save away.

I hope this answer your questions, in the mean time, I will work on a more detailed window.

Caroline
