Our organization is called Pancake Programming, and our project is called PancakeMail. Pancake Programming develops internet-related procedures, methods and software. PancakeMail is a patent-pending system for managing email that we are about to introduce to the web. The images we hope to obtain from this contest will be used on our websites, on business card(s), on postcards, on promotional material, etc. We hope to maintain contact with whomever wins this contest for future similar artwork for other Pancake Programming projects we have scheduled.
We require two images:
[1] A more generalized logo for Pancake Programming, obviously consisting of pancake(s), but not necessarily containing anything to do with programming, and,
[2] A logo for PancakeMail (note: there's no space between Pancake and Mail in "PancakeMail"), consisting of or similar to the more generalized Pancake Programming logo, that also includes some indication of having to do with email. Pancake Programming is equivalent to the "parent" to PancakeMail, and we would like the PancakeMail logo to be a derivative of the Pancake Programming logo.
We prefer simplicity and clarity in our organization image, and have no preconceived idea of what our logo should look like, only that it includes pancakes (which we don't think should be our preferred colors of reddish and blue unless it's really artistic or something), is unique to us and indicates either Pancake Programming or PancakeMail (whichever the logo is of). As our name migfht suggest, we are not too serious about our image and have no problems with a less formal design.
We prefer the font of "Announce" and have our own color palette that we use for marketing, which includes:
magenta-ish: #C8246D (preferred)
blue: #2494C8 (preferred)
teal: #5AC6C6
red: #C8244B
purple: #9424C8
orange: #C85A24
yellow: #C8C224
green: #24C88C
The file attached is just an example of our preferred font with our two preferred colors.
I hope this is enough to go on, nevertheless, we will watch this post regularly to answer any questions that arise. Thanks!

2 logos for $60? I doubt there will be much interest but I guess we'll see :)

If possible could you post the font "Announce" as an attachment for download. :)

certainly!
My partner asked that I point out that while we like Announce for it's simplicity, we are not at all stuck with it. We're open to anything that looks good.

How about these....
I've used a stack of CD's to mimic pancakes for the programming, and then put a stamp on top of the same stack for the mail.
let me know what you think.

How about something like this?
A different approach. Works in one colour as well...

Hello all....
Sorry we've not been around, something came up that took us away for a few weeks. Now we're back and trying to catch up with everything. It will be a little while before we can evaluate all these great logo's. Be patient, we haven't forgotten! :P
Thanks!

Hope it's not too late to join in!

Not quite what we are looking for, perhaps a bit too big, but thank you for entering! We got our name, PancakeMail, for a very simple reason - we love pancakes! Silly, but hey, it works! ;)

We like the use of the colors in this one, but it needs to be more...um, how shall I put this....'pancakey'? :P

This is a good idea, but we just want to point out that the colors we show in the font example are just a guideline, and don't need to be carried throughout the design, perhaps only in the wording.

Slick design, but maybe a bit too slick? Perhaps a little *more* color? We're trying to stay away from the stuff that you see on many professional sites. Don't you think they all begin to look alike after awhile? We want to stand out, make people remember the logo as well as the name. Recognizability is the key. ;)

We really like these, Taldo. Nice creativity. The bottom two designs are more along the line of what we're looking for. Simple, but interesting.

The pancakes (?) on this one are a bit too overwhelming, and colors are kinda more hamburgers. OK, that's just what I thought of when I looked at it. I'll point out again that the colors we like for the font aren't necessarily needed for the entire design. ;)

Really nice design, very professional. I like this but think it looks too much like similar designs you see on the web. We need something that will make you notice it, but has a professional touch to it. :D

No, it's not too late! :) The top two designs are really great! What we like most about this is that we could easily make an animated gif out of it - the pancakes could be made to flip slowly across the top of the design. (no, we're not one of those companies that uses way too much animation, only a wee bit ;) )
Could you make the pancakes a bit smaller? We also like how the pancakes actually look like real pancakes. Nice design!!
hey, again, another angle....gotta' love maple syrup ;)
Your name already makes the association of "pancake" quite clearly, so I decided on taking the non-literal approach, with your business and clients impressions in mind ;)

No winner has been selected but as you can see the contest holder hasn't been by to comment in quite a while (september 26). Palmer has sent an e-mail in an attempt to contact him.

We appreciate the submissions posted, and have considered them all. After a few discussions and lots of late-night coffee, we have decided that we like the logos submitted by "pennyln" best, although it wasn't an easy decision. :notworthy:
