Hello,

We are looking to refresh our logo before launching our website in a couple of months. A logo was developed last year as we first began planning our project. The project has changed and developed further since then. We need an updated look of the current design or a new design that fits with the attributes and project goals described in the project summary below.

You can use the current design as a base to play around with fonts/colors/graphics if you’d like. Or we’re open to completely new ideas. We’re looking for something hip, fluid, clean and professional.

We also have a more detailed creative brief if necessary. Just be in touch if you have any questions or need more details.
Thanks,
Audrey and Dan

Earlier developed logo attached.

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
- uncornered market
- UM is added at the end of the current logo in superscript, a play on the standard TM (trademark). It could stay or go, depending upon the design.

What type of product or service do you offer?
A travel and photography weblog for a couple traveling around the world. The weblog will be a vessel for multi-media projects - text, photography galleries, audio, and video - that will be developed along the journey as a way to share and communicate their travel and cultural experiences. As with any blog, input from readers will be encouraged and is one of our goals. The site will continue to exist and be updated after the initial journey. Throughout the initial journey and after, it will serve as a living resume.

A related online shop will offer print products based on our photography.

About the name uncornered market
- A play on words. We don’t want to “corner the market” on any of our experiences, but rather share them with a larger audience.
- Uncornered meaning “no corners”, implying boundless or endless possibilities
- Market – a place to trade ideas; a convergence point for travel, culture, personal development, and food experiences – and the technologies to capture those experiences

How long have you been in business?
Start-up, about to launch the website (and trip) in March 2007

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Create an online brand that will look visually inspiring, professional and unique, with the ultimate goal of drawing readers to our website.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
24 January 2007

Audience Profile:
Please describe your audience
People of all ages curious about travel, places, cultures, and connecting with people in other parts of the world. As this will be a journey of personal and professional transformation for us, we hope to attract people who view these types of experiences as opportunities for learning and personal development.

People purchasing photography related products.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:

What type of logo would you like?
Fun, hip, professional, clean.

The logo should look good primarily against a white background. Ideally, it should also be able to stand up against a dark background.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Although blue and green are in the current logo, we are open to any color scheme ideas.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Open to new and different ideas.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Fluid, inspired, creative, fun but professional, clean, international, multi-sensory, positive.

Where will your new logo be used?
Website, business cards, possibly on t-shirts or print/photo products in the future.

On the final delivery we need free editable source file in vector format (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, EPS), and web-ready versions. Also black and white version (for faxing).

Thanks everyone! We're looking forward to seeing more ideas and also variations on the original logo.

Senter, we like your clean design the best so far. Like the font, but the rn in uncornered looks like an "m" at a distance. Is it possible to see another font or different spacing? Although colors are attractive, they are difficult to see against a white background. Might be interesting to see some design or different colors inside the circle.

Cheers,
Audrey

Hello,
We're interested in seeing some variations with the original (or modified) graphic. I'm attaching the ai version of the logo, if that helps. Graphic is the same as above, font has changed.

Thanks,
Audrey

Senter, thanks for the quick changes. I like the original font better (sorry about that!), but like the darker colors in the revision. Maybe make the blue a little darker towards a midnight blue? Thanks!

Senter, wow, it's hard to choose now between #4&5. We like the design, colors and font used in both.

For #5, is it possible to see a third color integrated into the graphic? We like the fluid look now, but are just curious. Would it be possible to see this against a black background?

Thanks, Audrey

Offbeat design, like what we see in Version 5, especially the color scheme in the top design. Could we see it a little smaller? It seems a bit big in comparison to the font now. Is it possible to see a more compact font with the name closer to the design? As a comparison, would it be possible to see the original graphic against the background you've designed? Thanks! Looking forward to seeing it!

Fabian, nice work! I like the touch of the k touching the o. Would it be possible to see the design with a blue (maybe midnight blue?) color scheme instead of black? Thanks!

Senter, I like the changes you've made inside the circle in #7 (specifically, I like how you added a 3rd color, the lighter blue). However, with the font, I prefer uncornered to appear as one color (the darker blue).

For #5, is it possible to see a third color added into the graphic? Perhaps a third color might make the graphic look more fluid...an experiment.

It would be useful to see the logo in 2-3 colors against a dark background (black or dark blue). I ask, because we envision the back of our business card to be dark.

Great work and thanks!

Paula 23, like the new take on the design. Would it be possible to see #2 horizontal with the "market" down the right hand side and UM inside the box in top right corner?
Thanks,
Audrey

Thank you all for your work and ideas on this project! We saw many innovative ideas here that it was hard to choose.

We have decided on Senter as the designer for our logo. We're still having a hard time choosing between #5 and #9. There are a few small changes and questions (colors/fonts), but we can finalize in the revisions forum.

Thank you again!
Audrey and Dan

Thanks! Could you make the um in capital letters (like the trademark symbol - TM) and a tiny bit more space between it and the "d"? Will get back to you soon on the other item. Cheers, Audrey
