getting work done

Ok guys I was wondering if you can give me some tips/advice. I could really do with one of my sites having an overhaul and a new template designing. I want to keep the logo but it is a new template I need. Problem is I have no money, i really dont have the money to throw at this. So its not that i am not willing to pay its that i cant afford to pay.

Any ideas anyone how I can get work done in return for services or future payment, has anyone had any expereince of this in here?

It's very possible to exchange your services for someone else, but in my experience it's difficult to get great work. Most of the great designers simply don't have the time to partake in side projects like this, and more often than not, place a higher value on their work and would probably be less encouraged to do it for anything other than money.

You could, of course, find a multitude of up-and-coming designers who are itching to add to their portfolios, but you'll have to expect less experience in design as well as business dealings. This could prove to be more bad than good.

My advice is to peruse popular webmaster discussion forums and take a look at what's going on there. You may get lucky and find just the right person. Or, if you could spare $50, purchase a pre-made template at templateoutpost.com and have yourself a real slick looking site. ;)

Its for my site formulaframed.com the logo is cool and the header is ok, but i want to get away from the stock os look. I have some ideas for it, as well as the create a pic I have a new better friendlier look for that in mind too. None of the templates I say at TM grabbed me for the site, and also I would want a unique look, not a site someone else might have!

Thanks for your thoughts lang, hopefully I can get some more work and make some money then employ you guys, its not that i dont want to pay its just I really cant, other things have to come first, its been a nightmare few months and money is tight :)

Ok I can offer a very good SEO service, keyword optimization, reports, listings, optimisation etc. But I have not idea where to offer it. Anyone got any ideas (or up for an exchange of services?)
