Greetings,

After 5+ years, it's time to take ResearchBuzz.com to Movable Type. As you might imagine, this is going to take a lot of work. I'm hoping to get some volunteers to help me with the data conversion. One of the things I'd like to reward them with is a t-shirt. That's where YOU come in!

I need an 11x11 t-shirt design. A special bonus would be a 3 x 4 front chest design, but I can do without that if the design for the back really knocks me out. The theme for the shirt is The ResearchBuzz Big Move / September 2003. ResearchBuzz already has a logo -- you can see it at http://www.researchbuzz.com/images/ftlogo.jpg (the logo for the purpose of this t-shirt does not include the brown lines in the background or the word "ResearchBuzz" below.) I would like the logo to be incorporated into the design BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THIS VERSION. If you want to play with it a little, cartoon it, make it part of the background -- whatever you want to do.

Required elements for the design:

-- The site URL: ResearchBuzz.com
-- The phrase "The ResearchBuzz Big Move"
-- The phrase "September 2003"
-- The logo as described above

The design should be no larger than 11x11 and should be one color only, as it will be on a t-shirt.

This is my first time using this forum so if I left anything out, or if you need additional information, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi

When you say 11x11 is that inch's?? Also do you have a higher resolution of the logo if not then would you mind us tracing it, what I mean is that you want the design to be one colour so I thought of tracing the logo and having it just as an outline, will that be Ok?

I was thinking of have a character moving/carrying some boxes or items labelled up with your logo, does that appeal to you?

I apologise for all the questions..just thought it would give me a better idea of what you are after

Cheers

Michael

Hi 2Square,

Yes, 11 x 11 inches. Sorry, being an ugly American. ;)

Re: the logo. You don't have to use that one. If you just want to sketch out a circle with the RB design in it and then do something with it, go for it. The logo as a shape is fairly simple; you do not have to use the full rendering as is showing in that picture. So yes, you can trace it.

Your idea sounds good! I look forward to seeing it.

Thanks.

Hi Guys!

Sorry about the delay in responding. I had a little password problem.

rabbitdog, I LOVE your design. Some things I'd like changed:

1. ResearchBuzz is one word and should be capitalized R and B.

2. Could you put somewhere around the top "I helped with..." in the same
kind of scripty font you used with the September 2003?

3. Instead of Big Move the way you have it, could you stack the two words on
top of each other, viz

BIG
MOVE?

(Obviously aligned a bit better than that. :->)

4. While I like the shading of the two characters this IS going to be on a t-shirt and I think everything's going to have to be solids, so can you make them solids? Also, can you make the characters pretty gender-neutral? Most of the volunteers are women. :->

5. Finally, once you have it designed in black, will be difficult to just do a negative in case we decide to do black t-shirts?

6. Whooops, not quite finally. Can you do a breast design with the BIG
MOVE stack?

Hi, I'm glad you liked the design! I had fun designing it. :)

Below is an updated version taking into consideration your requests. Since the graphic is vector, it would be very easy to invert it to work on black tees. I included a quick mockup of what it would look like on black.

Thanks again for your consideration,

Liz.
