Do I have the right idea with having a landing page and an internal page? I'm pretty sure that I read that right in the pricing sheet but I want to check to make sure this is a valid price for what I'm asking.

I like this site:
http://www.hostgator.com/

I like how there is 3 products listed on the top (shared, reseller, dedicated) you may be able to do that for my products too (Live DJ, Digital DJ).

Hello,

I'm trying to create something, but it's not an easy topic for me :) Well, anyway take a look at what I have for now and let me know is it close to what you looking for?

Elena.

It's not exactly the image I'm trying to portray. I would like it if you could keep my logo blue. Also I'd like the company identity to be more tightly integrated. I'd like to stay away from the DJ, Turntable, or CD images. My company is on the cutting edge when it comes to digital technology, and does much more than just play music. We entertain, interact. What we do brings people together. Like the slogan is trying to say, we are a family company.

You know how the logo uses flowing boxes? That might be cool to expand upon. It's already been done with the vertical blue thing in my identity but how about using larger ones in the design?

Links both on the top and in the menu look fine. I like the placement of the Availability Checker. You can get rid of the sentence on top of the checker, just say "Check Our Availability".

Instead of Premiere Live DJ and Digital Jukebox Rental just put Disc Jockeys and Digital Jukeboxes.

Thank you,
Jay

Hello Jay,

I have attempted to generate some excitement in the header and then kept the clean professional look throughout the body whilst keeping it in the same theme.

I look forward to your feedback.

Demex,

My first impression is very good. The excitement at the top is perfect. I would like to see a slightly spicier link panel. Also, a right hand column for the news and a random photo module. On the bottom I would like to see another availability checker.

I might want to see a little more color somehow. However, my first impression still stands very well. I look forward to seeing your revisions.

I also think that it might be cool if the page background was blue (keeping the design white still, like my current site www.digitaldjsllc.com)

I like the yellow availability. Nice placement on the top and bottom. I also like the people on the bottom of the link panel, keep them. I don't like having the jukebox, and disc jockey menus yellow. Can you change them to incorporate some of that blue excitement that you have going on in the main header?

For the right hand column, those modules are only going to be on the internal pages, not the landing page. There is too much yellow in the "Life's Greatest Moments" (GOOD IDEA FOR A HEADER). Once again, can you make it some of that blue excitement that's happening in the header instead of all the yellow?

The latest news will contain two articles showing the Date, the header, and a 20 word intro. Can you just make that a wire framed module with the same header (NEWS) as the main menus (DIGITAL JUKEBOX, and DISC JOCKEY).

One last thing. I think you toned down the lighter blue in the second post in the boxes in the center. I like the toned down blue because the first blue was too bright and shocking. Tone it down a little please.

Ok, I like #14 the best but there are a few minor changes that I would like to make. I'm still not completely happy with the menu panels. Let's use the formatting from the Latest News for the menu panels. You might need to get rid of the people on the bottom :-( but whatever it takes to get that side of the screen cleaned up a bit. If you can keep them, fine. I liked the first link panel in your first post but it needed more. The one you have now is a little too much... Let's get that link panel to look cleaner while keeping some of the pizazz you've added to it.

Finally, I'd like to see the availability checker on the bottom run all the way starting from the left. Take the section that angles down and flip it for the other side. It might be nice to center the top checker as well. Is there anything you can do to the CHECK AVAILABILITY button to make that stand out? I like your question, "When is your event?" but I think that "CHECK AVAILABILITY" is understated and is very important as well.

The admins can assume i've chosen my designer. Demex, can you code this into CSS? Can you code into Joomla??? Please let me know, I understand this may cost me more.

Hello Jay,

Thank you for selecting my design. I will get onto the changes right away and post shortly.

Hello Jay,

Here are the changes. I like the idea of centreing the availability checker at the top and bottom. :)

If you have further revisions, please let me know and then I can begin designing the html.

I will take a look at Joomla and let you know.

JayShoe

Ok, wonderful with the checker. Centering helped a lot.

The links... Can you separate them into two distinct boxes (like you have done on the right hand side)?

The people will then turn into their own box as well. I'd like to use that box though too, so I've came up with an idea... Let's make that another call to action to place a booking.

Let's place a button that says "Book My Event". You can use the same button you've got in the checker. If you can fit my phone number there too that would be great. I realize this might stretch the site a little longer, that's ok.

Other than that, we've got it.

JayShoe

Don't worry about Joomla. It can be complicated. I'll figure it out. Can you do CSS?

JayShoe
02-25-2007, 07:05 PM
Oh, please place a copyright by Shoemaker Entertainment on the bottom somewhere.

Zoe

Hello Jay,

Are you looking for a no tables layout? Or can just certain elements be css based?

JayShoe
02-25-2007, 07:22 PM
Actually, Let's just leave the box with people. I might put some text on top of the graphics like "100% Guaranteed" or something but it's fine just as is.

JayShoe
02-25-2007, 07:29 PM
Ohhhh... I didn't see your reply. I'm looking for a no tables layout.

JayShoe
02-25-2007, 07:32 PM
If it is going to be put into Joomla, it might not be worth it right away. I could pay someone to do the entire thing no tables later. Could you just do some CSS formatting stuff so I can use it throughout the site when I need to?

JayShoe
02-25-2007, 07:33 PM
Just do whatever you can. I'll probably have to pay someone to code it into Joomla and at that point I'll do the CSS upgrades... Good work Demex.

Don't forget that I would like to have the EPS and/or AI files please.

JayShoe

Demex,

I mentioned in my original post that I would like a landing page and one internal. Do you think you can give me a quick work up of a page that has a lot of graphical elements like the ones you have in the header for the landing page? The page should have the availability checker, and the two product descriptions - along with a nice border. I have a sample of the layout I'm talking about in my company file. You should be able to incorporate everything you have done in the header of the template you just created.

I'm looking for something that is like an intro page and when they click read more then they get to the site you just made.

I'm sorry for making the extra work but I know you will be able to do a good job. I appreciate it.

Sample Landing

Zoe
02-26-2007, 11:17 PM
Hello Jay,

This is the idea I was talking about with just a slight change in the header.

The first main one would be used for the main company information, about us, contact us etc...

The second would be for the dj section.

The third for the jukebox section.

You could go a step further and hav a different style sheet with minor colour changes for each section.

I am not sure if this would work with Joomla - I am unsure of it's limitations if any.

JayShoe
02-27-2007, 05:24 AM
Demex,

I like that a lot. It highlights another one of the most important features of my site - the phone number.

The text is faded out too much - let it stand out a little...

I think it would be cool if there was a main header that said “Disc Jockeys and Digital Jukeboxes” for the main page. Keep that blue… or multicolor?

I would also like the availability checker to match the page that the user is on – IE Jukebox Yellow, Disc Jockey Red, Main page multicolor? Or blue?

Oh and don’t forget to change your demo site so that the bottom of the page isn’t white all the way to the bottom.

Then we’ve achieved what I was looking for, a different feel for each product.

Thank you,
Jay

JayShoe

Any of the changes made from this point forward should only affect what images are used for each section. Can you send me the main layout HTML and graphic files so I can get started on programming?

Thank you,
Jay Shoemaker

I have PM'd you with the files. :)

Demex,

I have received all the files. I have one last request, can I have the Jukebox and Disc Jockey headers without any text? I understand about the EPS.

You've done a wonderful job and I'm sure that I will be getting some great feedback from my customers.

Thank you,
Jay

Zoe

Thank you Jay,

It has been a pleasure working with you on this. Would love to see your site once it is all working. If you think of it - send me a PM so I can take a look.

Here are the two images you were after. Note the file names end with -b so as not to overwrite the ones you have so you would have to change the file name in the css file to test them.

Thanks

Zoe
