I am an amatuer photographer starting a new business from my photography hobby. I've taken pictures all over the world that I want to sell at craft fairs, as post cards and as greeting cards. I'm looking for a logo that includes the business name, " Places I Remember...." for business cards and letterhead. I have no pre-conceived ideas about style, colors, etc so I'll leave that to the experts!

Do you have any color limitation that we should take into consideration? By that I mean do you want 1-color, 2-color, 4-color? Or are you open to anything at this point?

No limitation at all, I'll leave it all up to you.

Hi phototaker

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll have plenty of replies/submissions soon....the boards are quite busy at the moment and it's only been two days.

It would certainly help though if you would provide the Design Team with even just a small idea of what you want. Have a think about what kind of 'look' and 'feel' you want the logo to have; be it bold, bright, technical (I can help you there!), periodic, moody, dark etc, etc...

When thinking about this, bear in mind that the logo will be printed and, to save on costs (if that is a consideration), it will need to look good in black & white as well as colour...

Have a look around the net and post a few links (only) to logos you like the look of. Google it! (http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=company+logos&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search) Obviously, we can't directly copy any logos but, as the old maxim goes, "There's no copyright on ideas..."! http://www.jms101.btinternet.co.uk/basic_sets/gold/circular_bold_std/wink.gif

Hope this helps! http://www.jms101.btinternet.co.uk/full_sets/gold/circular_bold_std/thumbsup.gif

Thanks Eagle,

I'll try to give you an idea of the things I like - I like bold bright colors, perhaps something whimsical or nostalgic but I definitely want something wildly creative. The people who buy my photos are folks who have been to the places I've traveled. I think my shots bring them fond memories of their travels. The business name , Places I Remember....speaks somewhat to a nostalgic aura.

I'm not very creative and don't know if the above comments are conflicting suggestions or not....but I know a good picture when I see it. I appreciate your reminder about the black and white - but since this business is more of a hobby than anything else I think it's really just a business card that I'm focused on.

I look forward to seeing submissions. I've viewed many other contests as well as ran a contest for my real business (revstrategy) and am sooooo impressed by the work of the design team. Many thanks, Phototaker

Two great entries - I really like them

Dynagirl, I love the bold colors and landmarks and thanks for the business card mock up - the corners are a great addition and really add so much - very clever!

Taldo, I like where you are going with this and can see that the colored squares are photos but the "photos" are too plain - can you jazz them up a little without making it too busy?

I'm not sure if you could see the images that were in the photos in my last post - they were very subtle...so I darkened them...

Taldo,
I could not see them at all - thanks for darkening them - I like, I like....

PS to Taldo - Actually the red and green photo backgrounds make the drawings within very difficult to see....a tad lighter perhaps for those two "photos" ?

Not really a "logo" per se... but full-color

A winner has been chosen and that winner is mentioned below in an email I just received from phototaker...
Palmer,
I regret that I'm unable to get as involved in this contest as I had hoped I could.  I am still having trouble accessing the entries.  However, in order to be fair to the artists that submitted entries, I'd like to declare Dynagirl the winner with her first entry. Could you please communicate this to her and send along my apologies for such a long delay.  She can send me the files at this email address.  Thanks so much...

Congrats Tonya. I'll PM you her email address.
