Site Name: Liberty First Bank
Contest Ends: September 3rd, 2003
No Submissions Accepted After: September 2st, 2003 8:00am (CST)

Concept
Liberty First Bank is going to be a small, locally owned bank that caters to the greater Liberty, Missouri area.

They’re going for a patriot look. The site should be a tastefully done in red, white and blue. The American flag can be used in good taste. Remember this is a bank. They’re going to be very conservative.

This will be CF intensive. Pretty much everything on the site is going to pull from a database, and the client will be able to add items in every category (new projects, new jobs, etc.)
Ths contest will happen in two phases. First, I'd like all submissions on or before Tuesday at 8:00am. Finished product must be CSS and cross-browser compatible to Netscape 4.7.
Phase II will happen after the contest, basically making sure that everything is taken care of. We will need templates and the stylesheet for:
Home
Consumer Banking
Loans
Investments
Mortgages
Business Services
Loans
Investments
Mortgages
Company
Hours of Operation
Map & Driving Directions
About Us
Career Opportunities
Investor Relations
Contact Us
Login

I’ve email Palmer the logo. Hopefully he’ll post it soon.

Looking forward to seeing your submissions! Good luck!

Hi I just wanted to ask if phase 2 of the project is part of the prize money or is the $200 for the winning template and you will make arrangements with the designer for payment of phase 2?

Hi Martin,

:help:
I am not too sure about what the website will be about. It may be me :(, but I don't understand:

...locally owned back that caters to the greater Liberty...

It's maybe because of my french language, Could you give me more explanations please
Thanks a lot for your comprehension,

Brian

Finished product must be CSS and cross-browser compatible to Netscape 4.7.

I believe that's an oxymoron :)

Would you prefer the website to work in IE 5+, Netscape 7, Mozilla/Firebird/Phoenix, Opera 7, Safari, Camino, Omniweb, and other modern browsers, or just Netscape 4.7? My experience has been that's going to be either all or nothing, unless you'd just like the most basic of text stylings to be CSS, and not much else. Netscape 4+ has incredibly poor support for W3C web standards, as discussed here and there:

Here: Why Don't You Code For Netscape? (http://www.alistapart.com/stories/netscape/)
There: (an absolute classic) To He** With Bad Browsers (http://www.alistapart.com/stories/tohell/)

A redirect like ESPN's Browser Upgrade page (http://espn.go.com/browserupgrade.html) seems to work quite well for most folks. Not too intimidating, and easy to understand. I've used it to much success this past year.

regards,

geof

Hello there all.
I've been out of the office for a bit. We're in the midwest of the US here and are seeing some minor flooding. Haven't been able to get to my office. :)
If necessary, I can extend this 24 hrs but would rather not if given the option.
Feedback, as always, is appreciated.
Martin

Hello Martin, this will be hand-coded and compatible with Netscape 4.7. I would like you to answer the question by Demex because it sounds from your first message that you want a 13 separate templates.

Hi,

I have designed a layout for the entry page and the inside pages.

The photo on the main page cn be updated regulary to help keep the site synamic.
This design will load very fast and be small in file size.

simple, conservative, easily modifiable, fast :) Every page will have abit different header.

Click here for preview (not fully coded yet, but you can see my idea and how a navigation will work):

Thanks for consideration. :)

Here is a simple yet sophisticated design. An appropriate as well as stylish look for a banking site. Thank you for your time.

Ok. Back in for the week. Not much of a three-day weekend.
To answer your question, Demex, Phase II will happen after the contest is over. The winner will be selected on Wednesday and payment will happen then.
Thank you all for the submissions. I will get them to the client this morning and we'll see what he wants to do.

I probably should have been a little more specific about the login. It will be for Site Admin only. There won't be any online banking for a while.
No need to change anything, just FYI.

Ok. Unless anyone emails me in the next little bit I'm going to assume that's the last of the submissions.
Thank you all very much for the great turn-out! :notworthy:
My clients are looking all of the templates over right now and they're supposed to get back with me before COB (Close of business) today.
Good luck all!
