(Admin code added by Palmer - 08E0480193988961J)

I need a single html coded page to use as a template for my dream and vision software journal program's website. It's a Christian oriented product with the Bible verse Joel 2:28 as it's theme. There is a certain “mystical” aspect to Joel’s Journal, and I’d like the website to convey that if possible, but very conservatively, - I don’t want it to look occult or psychic. Here's the answers to the questions in the template design assessment. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Company Details

1a) Name of Company
My company name is Freedom Software but this is to be a product-oriented webpage. I don’t normally even mention my company name except on the ‘Contacts’ page.

1b)Company Tag Line or slogan:
Don’t have one. Some possible product slogans might be “Hearing God’s voice” or “hearing God’s voice in your dreams and visions”, or something from the Bible verse Joel 2:28 (that’s where Joel’s Journal get’s its name): And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. The logo already uses “I will pour out my Spirit on all people”

Company logo?
Here is the product logo for use on the webpage:

http://www.joels-journal.com/JJLogo.gif (with transparent background)
http://www.joels-journal.com/JJLogo.tif
If another format is needed, let me know

1d) Do you have a corporate visual identity (a customized (non stock) logo and color scheme carried out throughout your office, stationery, business cards, etc.)?
Just the logo above.

1e) What is the nature of your business?: Briefly describe your products or services:
This is a software program for keeping a journal of dreams and visions. It’s Christian oriented, based on biblical principles for interpreting dreams and visions so obviously the site will have a Christian theme to it.

1f) Who is your target market? Who are you hoping to reach with your site?
Christians, especially those interested in the prophetic (hearing God’s voice specifically in dreams and visions). You don’t have to understand this in order to participate in this project. Just remember Christian theme, and journal/diary type of product, and the logo already does most of this for you.

Website Details

1b) Do you have an existing website? If so, what is the URL?
http://www.joels-journal.com

2b) IMPORTANT: Please list at least 3 URLs (web addresses) of high quality sites that you like the look of (these do not have to be sites who’s business is similar to yours. It aids us in determining what your design style is.) Please consider layout, colors, navigation, graphics, and typography.
http://www.streamsministries.com
http://www.worship-him.com (our other product – site template done here)
http://www.designoutpost.com/gallery/showpic.php?aid=215&uuid=125&pid=874 (A picture from a Design Outpost artist portfolio)

3b) What colors or color schemes would you like?
Make it go with the logo. It uses purple and silver, so naturally those colors, white, and whatever else you think “goes” with it.

4b) List the Navigation links for your Site:
Home, Purchase, Demo, Features, Screenshots, Support, Contact, Links

5b) What type of look are you trying to achieve? (e.g. clean, high-tech, conservative, warm, flashy, etc.)
I like clean but with some color “pop”. It needs to convey that this is a quality product. I can’t think of any mare – feel free to ask more questions.

6b) Please provide the addresses of competitors' sites, if possible:
There are none that I’m aware of.

7b) Do you have any images for use in the design of your site? If not, do you have images, can you offer suggestions of what you type of imagery you feel would be most suitable for your website:
A fountain pen like the one in the logo or the one I use on the current site for bullets , a journal/diary type of book maybe with a lit candle or a cross?, standard Christian imagery like cross, bible, etc, less known Christian imagery like a lion, ram’s horn/shofar. Maybe a picture of someone peacefully asleep with their head on their pillow, or someone typing on a laptop?

Deadlines and Deliverables

1c) What is the deadline for the design of your project?
Due March 20

2c) What is required breakdown of the files you require our designers to supply you with on finalization of your project?
Html and all graphics etc.

Thanks, Looking forward to your ideas!

Hello Woodie,

Here is my idea so far. I went with something really clean & simple :)

(The cross image has a watermark on it. If you liked my design I would purchase the photo).

Thanks!

Heather:

Beautiful! I think I like the one with the dove best. I don't have any suggestions, at least not yet, but not for a lack of interest. I really like it!

Matude and Brian:
I'm inclined to go with Heather's design. If you have something started please let me know and I'll give you more time. Otherwise I'm going to declare Heather the winner and close the project April 6th.

Thanks, Woodie

Hi,

I'm very sorry this took so long, I was away from the files for a while.
But I managed to find some time, so I finished this design today.
But hey- better late then never (:

I'm not sure about the navigation, if it should be in handwriting-font or just some regular font?

What do you think?

Thanks,
matude

Hi Matude:

Thanks, I like it, the script font for the navigation buttons is fine. I really like the stars in the backround too. Not crazy about the "Fantasies" jar picture though. Right now I'm still inclined to go with Heather's design, but if you'd like to give it another go, maybe try something else instead of the jar picture?

I'm declaring Heather the winner.

Heather: The one with the dove (message 13) is the one I want. No changes necessary. Thanks! -Woodie
