1a) Name of Company
e2solutions, LLC

1b)Company Tag Line or slogan:
Solving Your Ecommerce and Marketing Challenges

1c) Do you have a company logo?
Yes, our new logo is attached. We plan to use the blue and green logo for the homepage and our consulting and development services and the blue and orange logo for our marketing services (to visually differentiate).

1d) Do you have a corporate visual identity (a customized (non stock) logo and color scheme carried out throughout your office, stationery, business cards, etc.)?
We do, I have attached that image as well, but we need to freshen it up – we just want to give you an idea of where we were and the kind of creativity we like.

1e) What is the nature of your business?: Briefly describe your products or services:
We develop and improve ecommerce websites, specifically those sites that use the Everest Software platform to run their business. We also provide a full array of ecommerce marketing services with a specific focus on Search Engine Optimization. We have a separate, simple content management website solution as well.

1f) List the things that make your company/product unique.
We are a young and growing company, full of passion, ideas and innovation. Our staff is mainly comprised of people between 28 and 35 and we want our youth, enthusiasm, commitment and passion to be communicated through the look and feel of the site. We consider ourselves to be a “holistic” ecommerce service provider

1g) Who is your target market? Who are you hoping to reach with your site?
We target small to medium sized businesses who are interested in serious growth.

1h) What advantages do you expect this project to bring you?
We are an ecommerce service provider with an old logo and an ugly website…I think the benefits should be pretty clear. 

Website Details

2a) Do you have an existing website? If so, what is the URL?
http://www.e2-llc.com/

2b) IMPORTANT: Please list at least 3 URLs (web addresses) of high quality sites that you like the look of (these do not have to be sites who’s business is similar to yours. It aids us in determining what your design style is.) Please consider layout, colors, navigation, graphics, and typography.

http://www.akamai.com/
http://www.aspdotnetstorefront.com/
http://www.everestsoftwareinc.com/
http://www.netsuite.com/portal/home.shtml
http://www.interprisesuite.com/
http://www.webtrends.com/
http://www.omniture.com/

I have listed a couple of very decent website URL’s here but we need to underscore that we don’t want to look like everyone out there. There will be a lot of text and information in our pages so it’s critical that we have room for that, but we need color, punch and humor because, other than being professional, those are hallmarks of our business. Most of the sites in our space look alike – and although we want to appear professional and intelligent and clean, we also want to represent who we are as a company – which is young, passionate and different.

2c) What colors or color schemes would you like?
We do like blue and white, but we are open to other options.

2d) List any color that must be used or must be avoided specific for this web site:
None

2e) List the Navigation links for your Site:
Home, Solutions, Services, Resources, Partners, Support, Company

We also have “login” section, support and contact us and a search function.

2f) What is the single most desired action for a visitor to take while at your website? (e.g. call a phone number, fill out a form, sign up for a mailing list, make a purchase, request a free report, choose your company over a competitor, etc.)
We want them to email or call us for a consultation session.

2g) Would you like Flash elements? What are the Flash elements (e.g.: intro, header/banner, menu etc.) that you want in your website? Please describe them.
We are open to flash.

2h) What type of look are you trying to achieve? (e.g. clean, high-tech, conservative, warm, neutral, gothic, spiritual, artsy, fun, flashy, etc.)
High Tech, Warm, Artsy, Fun, Professional…all of that. 

Deadlines and Deliverables

3a) What is the deadline for the design of your project?
We need the design as soon as possible. We would like to be in the revisions forum within 10 days of this post.

3b) What is required breakdown of the files you require our designers to supply you with on finalization of your project?
We need .psd files.

3c) Are there any other comments/specific ideas we should keep in mind while designing your project?

Just that we don’t want to disappear in a crowd. :D

Hello,

After reading through your outline and then seeing your logo, the first thing I thought of was using something fun as shown.

The design is missing all the finer details, however I wanted to show my concept in case I may have stretched the 'fun' a little too much. :D

I look forward to your comments.

Zoe,

We love your creativity but this one is pushing it just a tad. :-)

We weren't thinking of characters...

We need the freshness you clearly bring to the table!

Hi Blair, great to see you back.

Here is a design I have in mind. By suppling the information in a strong grid structure It is easy to access information, as it is provided in little bit size pieces as well as offering a visually interesting design.

This structure could be followed down the page if all the information is required to be on the homepage whilst retaining the overall whitespace.

Hope you like this take on your project, any feedback you could offer would be welcomed.

Thanks
Fabian

Hi Aliska,

Thanks for the design - my only concern is that it is somewhat "feminine" and I'd like to see something that will appeal to men as well.

Also, please don't stick to the three column content design we have up now. We want to see some innovation in that area - we hate the site as it is now.

Thanks,
Blair

Fabian,

I like the look but I think it is a little to "light" for our homepage. We need plenty of space for content so we can maintain our SEO listings and we need to make sure we can compete with competitors in terms of the "look" of their sites - in other words, if our site looks small will clients assume we are "small time".

Thanks,
Blair

I like the colors, the layout and the feeling...but not so much the guy. Can we come up with an alternate "image" - less character driven but maintain this look and feel??

Thanks!

Hi Fabian,

I love how you have changed up the content and partitioned the content for the homepage. I'm not sure about the unshaven guy since he does draw the eye. Can you keep the content segments, maybe incorporate something different in the banner at the top and implement a location for some sort of numeric chart?

Thanks,
Blair

To Everyone.

Just to get us going more along the right track - when we talk about humor and youth, we don't necessarily mean cartoon characters. :-)

I'm just going to show you a couple of templates sites we like in Template Monster and see if this can help.

Templates
http://www.templatemonster.com/website-templates/9429.html
http://www.templatemonster.com/website-templates/11145.html

Now, we don't care for the color choices here, or the flash, but these both have interesting layouts of content that we like.

Thanks,
Blair

Great, I hoping you would like my new take on your project. Got rid of the scruffy fella for a cleaner cut person also gave the header a bit of a spruce up.

Not sure, what sort of graph you were chasing, so I decided to wing it:)

Sev,

Can you incorporate more green? We really want to emulate the new branding and we love the logo and the shading. The rather messy example header links up nicely with our business cards and our new powerpoint template.

Also, for everyone we need left navigation and the top nav bar needs to be right hand justified.

Fabian, we need links for Login and Support.

Thanks!

Hi Zoe,

We really like your ideas. We would like the e2 logo to be a bit smaller and more understated and my partner isn't sure about the extension of the 2 as the top border.

Can you give me one example (the image with the guy sitting in the grass is great) with those changes?

Thanks,
Blair

Hi Zoe,

We would still like the logo to be smaller and can we see a version without the e2solutions on the right?

I uploaded a .gif from our powerpoint and it keeps the logo small and elegant. At the large size it feels a little bit cartoony.

Also, can you integrate some graphics?

I have attached some examples of what we might want to highlight.

You can also remove some of the text you currently have loaded into the homepage template since we'll be culling that down.

Can you also remove the blue fade and restore the e2solutions but next to the logo like the original?

Hi Blair,

Something like this?

e2solutions
04-23-2007, 03:03 PM
Hi Zoe,

Ok, shrink the logo a bit more, we'd like to move the main nav into the green and we'd like the options to be:

Solutions, Services, Resources, Partners

We'd like you to create a mini nav in the upper right that contains:

Home, Support, About Us

We'd like to eliminate as much of the white space above the image as possible - we liked the blue fade, we just thought it was taking up too much space above the fold.

Can you also add a phone number beneath the new mini nav in the top right.

Thanks,
Blair

Zoe,

I think we're getting really close here. The only thing I'm struggling with is the look and feel of the top nav.

Can we try making the font one size smaller on the main nav items and can we mimic the line that seperated the round part of the logo from the company name?

Thank you!!!
Blair

Hello Blair,

I am sorry you confused me a little with your second line so I kinda just tried to make the navigation stand out a little. :)

I hope you like the change. :)

Hi, I will post a cool design tomorrow :D

will
04-25-2007, 02:26 AM
Here is my concept :D I used the red logo for I think it conveys more with the idea of youth, passion, action, business. The red shows a strong message of active thinking yet I didn't left the green and blue out of the equation. I don't like to use black on my designs but I think that the red without some grade of shade is too abstract so I used a dark gray to give a strong base where the company settles in the mind of the visitor. From all the examples you liked I picked the systems that suited more the message and integrate them to the concept needs, creating a unique, strong and stylish posibility.

will
04-25-2007, 02:32 AM
If you need more contrast there is always the posibility of using borders :D

I need to know what an internal page would look like with your vision though - and we need to know what the drop down menus would look like for the navigation.

Can you put something together?

We'd also like to our phone number integrated.

what about this :D An expandable menu can be used or simply place all the links at once. I use the expandable concept for the purposes of fitting the content I placed and to give you an idea of how the page can look with the case of not much content.

Thank you everyone for all your hard work.

We have decided that Will is the winner of the thread.

Will, some feedback as we move into the next part of this:

1. Is there any stock photography we need to buy?
2. Can you move the tag line up below logo out of grey bar and move home, solutions, services, etc. into grey bar
3. Can you place the phone number above the search window , and then search can shift down slightly
4. We need some call to action buttons for Contact Us For More Information and Request a Live Demonstration
5. We can ditch the bottom nav.

See you in revisions!

Thanks,
Blair

Hi Will,

We love it! We just need a couple of additional changes.

1. Can you move the navigation so that home is directly below the circle in the e2 logo.
2. Can you do something so the call to action buttons stand out a bit more - maybe change the color of the text font?

Once those changes are complete and approved, we'll be done with home. We just have a couple of additional changes to make the internal pages.

I'll work on that feedback now.

Thanks!
