Hello Designers,
I am the owner of LS2 Port Works - a business that caters to the owners of high-end General Motors products such as the Chevrolet Corvette, Cadillac CTS-V, Pontiac GTO, etc.
I have a website that is in it's infancy, but is still effective. I will eventually revamp all of it, but am first testing the waters with commissioning a logo.
I would like you to visit my website and see what I do...
http://www.ls2portworks.com
This may help you find the right logo for me. I need to select a designer no later than 23 March. I need to go final on the logo shortly thereafter.
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
LS2 Port Works
What type of product or service do you offer?
I provide modification of factory engine components that increases the power of the engine.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2006
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
To obtain a striking, but simplistic logo, that is easy to spot in the crowd even at reduced size (like forum sponsor icons!). I already have solid work and reputation. I need the logo to give it a professional appearance.
What are your long term goals?
To continue to offer affordable performance alternatives that incorporate a measure of stealth. I am always taking on new projects and new platforms.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? March 23rd.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience.
My customers own high end performance cars and trucks from General Motors. They wish to obtain parts that are discreet and provide a proven horsepower gain.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
All potential customers who seek more power from factory stock appearing parts!
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something simple that will translate well to a printed decal
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Blue, Black, White
OR
Orange, Red, and Black
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
I'm open to ideas. I know I am not looking for a gear as part of the logo. I'm also not fond of the checkered flag as it is a very over used icon.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Precision
Discreet Power
A thinly disguised "edge"
Reliable
... that sort of thing.
What is your tagline or slogan?
Proven Measurable Affordable
Horsepower Solutions
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
With my products you can have more power than stock but retain the stock look as well as retain your factory warranty.
Where will your new logo be used?
On my website and other internet forums such as...
www.LS2PortWorks.com
www.LS1GTO.com
www.corvetteforum.com
www.LS1tech.com
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
I am at the top of my market. My only competitors do not specialize in what I do. It is a secondary offering at best for any of them.
List competitive URLs if possible
Similar business logos are present on the forums linked above, but none are direct competitors.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
Commitment, customer service, competitive and affordable price, and proven performance verified by many independent tests.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Proven Measurable Affordable
I hope these comments can get us off to a great start!
Best regards,
Cory Harris
