Hi

Budget is $150

Business Name is Six Hat Management Ltd
Strapline is 'New Ways of Thinking, New Ways of Doing'

Business Type is essentially consultancy, covering IT Project Management, Web Services, Coaching.

Six Hat name comes from Edward De Bono's Six Thinking Hats, each hat a different colour and represent a different way of thinking at a given time.

Would like a logo that is very fresh and vibrant and conveys New Ways.

When it comes to a business card to use it on I see a white background, logo is colourful against a white background.

Not necessary to actually have Six Hats.

Would like to award this work quite quickly and will respond quickly to any questions.

Thanks

Dan

Hi all

As requested, here is a detailed design brief.

Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo? Six Hat Management

What type of product or service do you offer? Consulting Services in IT - Service Management, Project Management, Interim Management, emphasis on recovery and Service / Continuous improvement services

How long have you been in business? New company but directors have over 60 years experience between them

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity? The directors work as contractors under their own identities. Six Hat is being used to give us a vehicle to offer generic services under one banner and build a name whilst maintaining contracts.

What are your long term goals? Right now, the company is really a vehicle for individual contract income. Long term, small, fast moving leader in IT Project and Service Recovery

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? 28th March

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience? None really, we operate as contractors for large organsiations like Dell, O2, AstraZeneca

Who would you like to add to your audience? Any large organsiation that outsources their IT For example, Barclays, AXA, O2, AstraZenicaetc, plus any service provider performing outsourcing (Unysis, Computercenter, Dell, IBM, SCC, Computerland, IKON, Getronics etc.)

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like? Fresh, clean, sharp, clarity. Please do not use images of Hats as this will infringe on the trade mark of Six Thinking hats

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?) None really, just a scheme that conveys those words above (Not RED)

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo? No

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? Trusted advisors, none acceptance of none delivery and independent.

What is your tagline or slogan? New Ways of Thinking, New Ways of Doing

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? Don't wait to take positive action now to rescue outsourced services and projects – Use the experience available within our team.

Where will your new logo be used? On the Internet, business cards and letterhead

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos? – Fox IT, Centrix, Aquip. Good logo’s

List competitive URLs if possible some examples: http://www.aquip.co.uk/
http://www.centrix.co.uk/
http://www.foxit.net/asp/Frames_Set.asp?go2=home&source=a-adwords&kw=fox%20it

What sets you apart from your competitors? – Project and Programme management experience to compliment the Service Management. Service / Project recoveries – not just consultants but will manage

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Practical and loyal to the customer.

All, thanks for the initial designs so far. I am gathering some feedback and ideas and will add a new post in next 24 hours.

Some of these are looking good and with soem changes in font and colour in some areas will come up great.

I hope to select a designer very soon.

All, not sure how all this works but here is some feedback on specific logos that based on feedback we think have a good basis to take forward. Ultimately of course, we 'll narrow down to one designer

In all cases we think the S and H of Six hat should be in capitals

We can't use hats, too close to Six Thinking Hats by Edwards De-bono

Message #2 Graphic Design Melbourne
Needs colour

Message #4 Unorthodox
Can't use the hats but like the colours.

Message #5 - Logoholik
Capitals for S and H only, maybe some more vibrant colours

Message #6 - Logoholik
Love this one and could do something to soften the big six but still representing something like a hat

Message #7 - Offbeat design
like big sixhat and small management, colours ok but dots a bit 'old hat' if you excuse the pun

Message #11 - J. Johnson
Nice use of swoosh, maybe more vibrant colours

Message #15 - Offbeat design
Has potential

Message #19 - guetizo
Kind of crisp an clean though would drop the tm, use capitals for S and H.

Hope that feedback is OK, assuming you may add some additional designs and then I can select a designer to move forward in detail. If this is not the right approach then sure someone will tell me :-)

Thanks

All

Rest of the feedback, not easy giving good feedback (I bet it's not easy reading my mind either)

A couple of points
1) In all cases we think the S and H of Six hat should be in capitals
2) We can't use hats, too close to Six Thinking Hats by Edwards De-bono
3) we do not need a number 6 in the design though the logo on message 6 is borderline
4) we also do not need to emphasise HAT, the name is Six Hat, is says what it needs

All in all, there are some good designs there to work with based on the remit given so far

dan

Message #3 - Logoholik
Simple but colours a bit bland

Message #8 - Offbeat
Not sure what it is I don;t like, might be the big fat font

Message #9 Offbeat
Some like it, some don't. Colours could be more vibrant and font is not so good

Message #13 - Offbeat
Not keen on the font

Message #14 - Offbeat
Just not keen on this one

Message #16 Genius
Use more vibrant colours

Message #18 Freetime
Not keen on the shape and emphasis on HAT

Message #20 Unorthodox
Bland colours

Message 21 - Freetime
Not keen on the shape

Message 24 djaka
It's sharp and clean but image not so good

I'm awaiting feedback from my collagues on a shortlist I've proposed. Will get back to you asap.

One thing I note of interest is the way some of them translate to black and white. Some look good, some don't. I think of the logo being used in Powerpoint, on letterhead etc.

Feedback for Genius, message 37 and 38

Font is too 'fat' and current logo reminds me of one for a car rental company called Sixt Kenning I think.

Clours a bit bland.

Hi

Re Logo in Message 4

Can you try it with Capital S Capital H and a sharper, crisper font please.

Once that is done I am ready to close this stage of the project and award the work.

Thanks

Hello all

Apologies for delay in selecting designer, I've been waiting for some changes from Unorthodox but still seems to be away.

The designer selected is 'Offbeat'

The design of interest is Message 35 but I have some changes I wish to make to it around font and graphic used.

If willing to progress on that basis then I am happy for this to be transferred.

Thanks

It's missing something, some oompf for want of a better word.

The one that camse closest was Message 4, something about the hats spinning/circling

Hi, it looks like No 61 is the most popular (Version 16) so will go with that as the final one.

Some questions
What formats do you provide the logo in? At a minimum I'll want to print business cards, letters, email sig, web.

Would like in Colours and B&W?

Let me know, thanks.

Thanks a lot for the ideas and effort, appreciated.
