Hello Designers:
Thanks very much for helping me with this - I'm looking forward to seeing some really great ideas.
I'm starting a new software company called Paradigm Code, and need a corporate logo.
The actual shape and form of the logo is totally open, and I hope to see some genuine originality in your designs.
There are a few requirements though:
1. Any colors used must be highly compatible with good web design and style.
2. Any colors and designs used must be easily handled by popular printing methods (i.e. business cards, letter head, t-shirts, etc.)
3. My theme for the company is the discovery of hidden simplicity, and its use in the creation of complex solutions. I would like to see some logo designs along these lines: simple concepts leading to unexpected elegance.
4. I will need the logo to be easily scaled up & down.
There is no specific date when this needs to be done, but the sooner the better.
Let me know what other information you need to proceed.
Sincerely,
Albert Kennis

Hello nhrdesign - thanks for your work! I like your design and the choson font very much. May I ask you to prepare the same in a few different color schemes? I will be considering your entry in my decision.

Hello Minuta 8: This is very much inline with what I was imagining - simple & clear. May I ask to evaluate two slight modifications on your design: 1. Let's see what it would look like with a smoothly curved line flowing from the upper most bubble, around the "Paradigm Code" text, and terminating with an arrow at the final bubble - kind of reminiscent of a state-machine. 2. I would also like to see this same design done in a few different color patterns (greens and blues). Thanks very much. Albert

Hi Lutfi: I like this a lot. If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to see how it would look with: 1. The text "Paradigm Code" under your icon's main loop. 2. With the P icon as the first letter of "Paradigm Code" Very promising.

Thank you very much for the feedback.
Now, I am in "make it perfect" stage :D
Please, note changes to "G" and "D":

any chance you could tell us a bit more specific info about the business, it's focus, audience, objectives etc?
Cheers,

Hello Paul - Sorry for not providing the needed information. This business has not yet begun operations, and is still in the formation stage. It will concentrate on the development of software applications, for client side and server side installation. There will also be a custom development services side of the business. In either case, software is the business, and I'm much more interested in B-2-B rather than consumer oriented works.
Thanks - hope that helps.

Hello Logo Designers:
I applaud all of the great designs that have been posted thus far, and plan to choose one from amongst them in the next 24 hours. Please see the below for my comments on your latest designs:
Hi Logoholik,
I really like your last design, with the rounded square and bubbles. Very good is the fact that this design will probably shrink down to some of the very small icon sizes that often needed to be embedded in software titles. For the moment I am leaning towards this submission.
Hi Freetime:
I like arched design you've produced. I will be considering this in my final choice.
Hi NHR:
I am a bit worried that although the Paradigm Code text is easily owned, the font and character layout is quite similar to that which is used by other firms (i.e. Creative). Because I'm not to familiar with the business of logos and trademarks, I'm not sure if this is a real concern or not - any thoughts? In the end though, your design has significant appeal.
Hello Lutfi & Pracus,
I really liked both of your designs, and would like to see them once again with my previously descibed ideas incorporated.
****
So everyone, please submit any final ideas within the next day, and check back for my decision. I really do appreciate everyone's effort. Because I'm quite graphically challenged myself, I expect to be posting many more requests to this forum in the future, and would very much like to see all of your ideas at that point.

Thanks Albert. Following on from your response regarding the business, are you focussing on anything which will set you apart from the plethora of other software developers?
Cheers,

Hello Paul:
A very good question - for which I should have a good answer. The only thing I'm banking on is being able to carry over those skills that made my former employer many millions of dollars into my own venture. The first order of business is to study the market, find a problem and pain, and then apply my development skill towards a solution. Not a real answer, but I'm confident none the less. The beautiful thing about starting a software business is that it can be tried at very little cost - that's my attitude anyway. By the way, I'm in Japan, so we're on the same time zone!

As you requested. :)

After looking Creative logo I can see similarity, but my concept is diferent enough to avoid any concern.
But, decision is your. Thank you.

Hello Logoholik and Guetizo:
I'm trying to decide between your two designs - both are very nice. I would like to see one more version of each before choosing though.
Logoholik: Can you please choose a slightly more vibrant color scheme for your rounded block design.
Guetizo: I really like your version 3 design. Can you please do something to make clear that "Paradigm Code" is two words - for all but the Germans, having them sat side-by-side in the same font and color will be difficult on the eyes.
Thank you very much.

Hello everyone:
Thanks for all the great designs.
I have decided to go with Logoholik's Version 3 design. Logoholik: can you please tell me what actions need to be taken from here in order to finalize this transaction.
I would very much like to compensate the following designers for their efforts: freetime, Guetizo, NHR, and Lutfi. If any of you have a paypal into which I might remit, please let me know.
Thanks very much - this has been a very good experience, and I will certainly be using Design Outpost again in the future.

Can you tell me the hex color values you used in the creation of my logos.

1 more... sorry.
Does anyone know if there is any sort or receipt / invoice generation mechanism on this platform. I would very much like to have a fairly descriptive report of this transaction, and the parties involved (i.e. minimally myself and Design Outpost).
Thanks.

Albert, pms7470 blue translates to #0E6389 and pms376 lime green to #7AC51E.
Regarding your second question, someone from administration will get back to you tomorrow on that i guess.
And yes, transaction is completed once you received your files :)
Cheers,
Bojan

As far as I know, you should have received a receipt when you paid through PayPal.
You may want to send a Private Message to Abby to ask if there is anything else she can provide.

Hi Jennifer:
Thanks. Your service works very well. I found it via suggestion via the "Business of Software" bulleting board on www.joelonsoftware.com, and have since posted about my success here.
