Admin code added by Abby - 72925545VU905634H
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Beans ‘n’ Leaves
What type of product or service do you offer?
Fresh ground coffee and loose tea leaves, primarily sold over the internet
How long have you been in business?
A new business, incorporated in March 2007
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
We need a strong logo that will appeal to our target market, to be used on all packaging, letterheads, correspondence, the Web site etc.
What are your long term goals?
To build an instantly recognizable quality brand that is the first choice for coffee and tea in the home and at up-market establishments.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
20th April 2007
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Coffee and tea drinkers (young professionals, over 40s, top end market); cafes; hotels; restaurants; shops.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
As above
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
The business name, Beans ‘n’ Leaves, and a simple line drawing of a coffee bean and single tea leaf
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Yes, white background and sage green/verdigris line drawing and font
We are happy for designers to make their own alternative proposals for colour schemes, but have selected the above with the view to keeping the design clean, simple, minimalistic, distinctive and memorable.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
A single coffee bean and single tea leaf
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Quality, style, fresh, that “added extra”
What is your tagline or slogan?
To be decided, but similar to “Top quality coffee and tea, delivered to your door”, No tagline or slogan to be included within the logo design
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Maximising the coffee/tea drinking experience, making the quality more important than the price, giving that extra oomph and added value.
Where will your new logo be used?
On the Web site, on all packaging, promotional leaflets, signage, correspondence, letterheads, business cards etc.
High quality Vector and Bitmap versions required.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
None locally, mainly multinationals. No specific logo in direct competition.
List competitive URLs if possible
www.thebeanshop.co.uk
What sets you apart from your competitors?
Passion for high quality coffee and tea. Quality products and service.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Vibrant, Young and Enterprising

Thanks for starting us off! Prefer your first version, with the stalk - can you try the bean and leaf alongside each other and more detail? Also, not sure about the brown colour - try just in a muted green? Keep them coming! :D

I have a question regarding the apostrophes in your name.
You have it listed as:
Beans ‘n’ Leaves
The correct usage would be:
Beans ’n’ Leaves
as both apostrophes are each taking the place of a missing letter.
Which did you want to go with?

Thanks for your submission! Nice design but not what we are looking for - reminds me of a lotus flower or water lily as oppose to a coffee bean and tea leaf - think the leaf should be on a stalk. Keep trying though and thanks for your effort!

Liked it better - had problems with my apostrophies though and meant for them to point out the other way - as in 'n' or straight down...Would like to see any more ideas you have!

Like the colour green you have used! Could you make the coffee bean and tea leaf more prominent? Aslo, could you try the text in lower case (apart from the B and L)?? Thanks :D

Meant to say, the green colour of your second design was the one that I liked. Not keen on the 1st version, but also quite like the 3rd.

:) Hello...here is my first concept for your logo..
Thanks!
Not sure on this one....like the leaf design at the end, but want a less fussy font. Could you do a more intricate design for the leaf and coffee bean, like a pencil drawing and try just the one colour (muted green)? Thanks! :)

Hi. Thank you for your feedback.
The tea leaf from version # 1 is from Camilia tea leaf.
This is the result based from your feedback.
I keep soft brown color. If we change all to green, people can miss that is coffee bean. There are so many other green bean. :)
Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks for all your designs, they really are appreciated. I liked your last one in particular and wonder could I ask you to try a brown/sepia colour throughout? I know this goes against my original specification and earlier request, but I can imagine a logo in creams/browns since I like the black/white monotone image but would like to see a softer version. Many thanks" :D

We love the concept of a leaf and bean appearing to come out of a cup of tea/coffee, but I'm not so keen on the colours which come across as a bit bold. Could you try more subtle/muted colours? Also, would it be possible to try a more sophisticated font? Thanks :D

Just to keep you all up to date, we have been really impressed with the quality of designs that have been submitted and are going to be selecting 6 to go before a focus group panel early this week. We will also be using some designs to undertake perception research with and the results of both these will be know by Thursday, when hopefully we will have 2 or 3 short listed. We then hope to work with the desings to finalise any aspect of the designs that could do with altering/enhancing and come to a decision by Friday. Keep up the good work one and all! :-)

We are pleased to announce that we have finally come to a conclusion on the choice of logo for our company - this after much deliberation and research, working with focus groups and undertaking perception research. The logo that most directly meets the end image we required is the one submitted by PRACUS (message 55, version #3). This is subject to minor colour changes and confirmation that the image can be supplied in high-quality VECTOR and BITMAP formats. Thank you to everyone for all your work and high quality designs - this has been appreciated throughout and we have been really impressed with the submissions :)

Green: C8 M0 Y42 K35
Brown: C0 M14 Y27 K53

Green: C45 M0 Y100 K24 - 377 PC
Brown: C0 M79 Y100 K52 - 491 PC
