Hello, and thanks for reading my post. I am looking to have a logo designed for my recently launched online store. I'm not sure exactly where to start...
I launched the Bubs Duds website on the 27th of November, with a view to providing near new baby goods, from clothing to nursery furniture.
My target market is prebirth to 18 month old children, and I am focussed on quality products and exceptional service - I am to provide a completely professional shopping service, and would like my logo to reflect this professionalism.
I am happy with the colours and style of my website, and accordingly the logo will need to tie in with the existing theme. Here is a link to my site for your reference. Bubs Duds - The Online Secondhand Superstore for Baby (http://www.bubsduds.com.au) I currently have a bit of a safety pin theme going, while I like this there is no requirement for a safety pin to be incorporated in the logo.
I do like the idea of a cartoony type logo, I have toyed with the idea of a baby in a nappy with a pin in the front and nothing else on, another thought was a baby in clothes that are way too small that the baby is bursting out of, but please don't limit your train of thought to this, as I am extremely open to fresh thoughts. One thing that must not be used in this logo please is a dummy - I have strong feelings on this issue!!
While I currently retail all sorts of baby products including clothing, nursery furniture, books, prams etc I will review my product set at the end of a six month period, and may specialise my business to deal with clothing only. While this is not a definite, should it go ahead I don't want to have to rebrand, so while I'm happy with an overall baby theme please don't incorporate too many specific product elements in the logo.
So to summise, I would like a fun logo that conveys a professional image, that ties in with my existing web site and doesn't restrict my customer's image of my business. I would like the text to be in a 'fun' font that is compatible with most browsers - I will incorporate this font into the headings on my site if possible. I am currently using Comic Sans MS, again no requirement to stick to this. The image does need to be scalable.
There will be ongoing design work for the winner of this competition, of course providing that their pricing is suitable. The next cab off the rank will be a newsletter template, which I will need to have ready around the start of Feb. This competition will close on the 25th of January. I'm not sure what other information I should provide you with, if you need anything further please do let me know. Good luck, I am looking forward to seeing your entries.
Kind regards
Brooke, Bubs Duds :)
