Hi All Designers:

I need a logo for a web site that I use to sell art to the Interior Design Community.

This web site is only an inventory page and I need a logo that will help customers remember the site name and create a brand identity.

Project Summary:
Text to be included in the main part of the logo:
Joan Davis Inventory. com

Type of service offered:
Original Art, Wholesale to Interior Designers

I hope to accomplish with the new identity:
An easily recognizable logo that will make the web site easy to remember for repeat future site visits.
A logo that can simply be posted in an ad or on a post card that would draw customers to go to the site and check it out.

Long Term Goals:
A premier resource for art.

Deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? Open

Audience Profile:
Interior Designers, (very discriminating audience, being visually driven and also artist).
80% Female
Age 45-65
Mostly non-computer users, so logo must be easy to recognize and remember and make it look easy to find on the web.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
No perception.
The “.com” can me any size; it can also be spelled out.

No Color Preference.

You can check out the site at:
Joandavisinventory.com

Communication Strategy:
Contemporary Art

No Tag Line or Slogan

New Logo will be used on web site, postcards and advertising.

Thank you for your help !!! I look forward to working with you.

Blesseville: Thanks for the reply and design.
I like it. I like the simplicity and cleanness.
Here are some notes.
I like the colors, but they strain my eyes a little and the color/font combination does not create as strong of a message, as I would like.
The design does not translate well into black and white.

Also, we need to add ".com" to some part of the design. The main purpose for the logo is for people to know about and go to the web site.

Credits to you for the design and being the 1st to respond. THANK YOU!!!

Blesseville, Very nice. Good steps in the right direction !

All changes look nice.
The black and white looks better in this format.

2 things,
#1-can we play with the colors a little to make the color version stronger ? (either stronger hues of those colors ? or other colors ?) FYI, I am not against the color choice, just wondering how we make a stronger color impact.
And
#2, to add a "dot" for the ".com" how about trying a little square as the dot. That might be fun and plays with the logo.

THANK YOU !!!

hi! Besides obvious jdi letters, icon represents part of the interior plan...

Taking a more personal approach ... warm colours, with an elegant, artistic delivery - which is also strong without the inclusion of the URL.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback.

Cheers,

Paul

Blesseville:
Well.... lesson learned. Your initial pantone works best. Thanks for taking the time to show me other options.

Please make a version using colors from 2.0 and add the square for the dot com, and turn the COM up on its end. I liked that version better.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I am not real big on the icon "jdi" if you want to do another version that might work, or just maybe try using the JD.
You could also do JDA, for Joan Davis Art, and then add the tag www.joandavisinventory.com

check out the direct artist site for inspiration. www.joandavisart.com

I like the font better in version 1.

Thanks, let me know if I can provide better feedback to help you.

I am not big on the house, although I like the fact you went for the "interiors" angle.

For inspiration for any other versions you are willing to post.
You can go beyond interiors and use, Art, Easels, Brushes or maybe a collage of the words JOAN DAVIS and then do a tag line with the web address.

I will also suggestion the direct artist web site for inspiration.
www.joandavisart.com

Thanks !!!

Have a great weekend.

Ratbaggy:

I like the emphasize on the word inventory. That reminds folks that inventory is the key word in the www address.

Not into the font for the name.

I do like the warm colors, with an elegant, artistic delivery.
You can look at the main artist page and see you are hitting that right on....www.joandavisart.com

Can I see something more from you?

Thanks,

Have a great weekend.

I like the colors.....the font could work, but I am just not feeling the stacked art. I do see the stacked canvases, but not sure the average joe would.

Can I see something more.....

As I have suggested to others......

Look at the direct artist web site for more inspiration and let me know if you have questions that might help you.

I am afraid I am not giving good art direction to lead you.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for the reply.

Hi Matt123,

I took a look at the artist site for inspiration and came up with a icon combining the letters "J", "D" and "i" (from inventory).

guetizo:

thanks for the 2nd option. but i am not sure this is the direction I need to be going. this logo is really about recognizing the image and the image directly communicating JOAN DAVIS INVENTORY.COM.

i would prefer if you were going to do an icon that represents JDI that the JDI can be very recognizable as to what it represents.

that logo above is very nice and artistic, but it does not communicate the message.

any other options. thanks

You can add money the same way you did when starting your project. When adding the funds, just add a note that you have a project running and (if you can) supply a link to the project and/or title of your project.

If you have any questions, you can send a Private Message (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/private.php?) to Abby and she can help you out.

I like version 3.

Can you change the font on JOAN DAVIS.

I like the font for inventory, but not the Joan Davis.

Also, i know this was not in the orgianal request, but can we add a tag line under version 3. that says.....Art for Design.

Thanks,

Thanks. Here's another font. If this is not what you're looking for, let me know what style you like. I like the addition of the tagline because it further explains what you're about.
