Logo is in process. Wanted to get this ball rolling at least.

Not as of yet, but being that simplicity is the biggest design goal, we are simply going to use our logo, with minimal visual elements.

1e) What is the nature of your business?: Briefly describe your products or services:

The analogy that someone best came up with is an "Ikea" like collocation company. The essentials are there, not a lot of fat. We offer all the traditional things like 100% uptime, etc. But we don't have a big fancy mahogany table in our conference room. We don't have fancy see through windows. We just have racks with stable power, good people, good prices, and a great networking.

1f) Who is your target market? Who are you hoping to reach with your site?

Other IT professionals, that have their own management team, or maybe need a little help here and there. People who are more concerned with the end product than the marketing behind it.

We have a domain, but nothing there at the moment.

Main/Sub page at maximum. Would like the front page to be splash like, and sub pages to be informative.

Hi there,

This was one of those designs where an idea just popped as I was reading, and then to see the logo forums and a logo that further enhanced my idea be available, I was quite happy.

I have gone for - simple - clean - straight to the point.

I would like the logo larger, but of course you have not selected a logo as yet. :)

Should you not select this particular logo - I can quite easily revert back to my original idea...

note: I actually imagine the lines being drawn in flash...

Yes this current entry would be able to span across the full screen. Once I have a vector version of the logo, I'll increase the size of the design above. :) And will create my idea for the inside page. :)

No... well not from here anyway.. :)

You will find that the designers are spreading themselves around and you are more likely to get a number of entries closer to your deadline.

I do have an idea for your inside page - however I do most of my designs over the weekends and have a couple of others I have promised to enter. I will see how I go for time. :)

Apologies for the delay in response. Your design looks nice. How do you envision this on a 1024x768+ display? Anything we can do to make the header contrast for the slogan? Maybe shrink the white box?

I don't mind the 760px design, as long as the design is not in a box... If the lines were to run the width of any screen, maybe as a table background, that sort of thing.

Here are my updates...

Please note the inside design is for a plain content page. I thought some logo like linux etc would be good across the bottom. What servers will you offer and what languages?

I thought an about us page would be able to include news items etc... and would simply use a number of "smaller" boxes like the main box in my inside page.

I appreciate your design input. Although, I'm just not sure that is a long the lines of what we are looking for. I am not sure what it is about it, but it doesn't feel right for us. Maybe color scheme? Maybe too boxy and crowded?

Gypsi, I was only trying to give you a chance. The design shows promise. If you have issues doing revisions for a project, maybe design outpost is not the place for you. Sometimes you have to work to come up with something appealing to someone. Sorry if I wasted your valuable time.

1. The background would span across the screen, and we could even incorporate a funky looking image into the background.

2. The whole page could be designed to be centred with the green off to the left.

3. The whole page could be liquid - however that doesn't look too great when you get up to resolutions of 1600 x 1200 unless you have a lot of content. :)

Any of these ideas appeal to you? If so I cn make a mockup.

Let's address the designers one by one:


Zoe) I really like where your designs and ideas are headed. One concern about the inside page of yours, is that it seems like it could potentially limit the amount of content I can put on a single page. One of my design goals is that I don't want to send people through a round of clicks to find a piece of information.

To answer your last question. I like the idea of the whole page, but not sure the difference between 1 and 2. I like the idea of a background and is liquid, but the main focus of content being in a defined table. Just not limited to an 800x600 screen.

Your design is very appealing, although I am having a hard time seeing it as a web page.

Carl) You seem to have the idea of simple down. It's fairly clean, but perhaps too clean? Maybe add some different visual elements? Solid background color?

Anne) You really got me on this. Both designs are nice. They are very clean. Very simple. I'm curious to see some of your ideas with solid background colors, or other things. I'm not sure I dig the white. Any sort of icon like design elements?

Other guys: Don't lose hope, the more designs the better!

Ah, I can see how it may appear that way, but no you can put as much information in the white boxed area and it would simply expand down.

I was referring to having a liquid layout horizontally in my previous post - not vertically. All my designs will expand vertically. :)

Perhaps a slightly darker background in place of that white, so the line from the N shows. Maybe make the main content area the width of the page. Play with a few different design elements.

NICE! I like the dark stuff. Could you humor me by making the n in the circle on the nisusnet logo white, and get rid of the shadow on it? As well as make the sub page area wider? Perhaps a large font on the sub page nav bar?

- Make sure the boxes can be re-used with anything
- provide PSD for the keeping you connected text for headers for each sub topic
- space the navbar items out more, or use a delimiter

Looks good!

The only thing I would do is center the numbers under the text of the phone number to clean that up, and make the 6478714 a small font.. clean it up a bit. Maybe put some text on it.
