Hello! This logo is for a very fast-growing site featuring interviews with Hollywood stars. While some obvious imagery comes to mind for a film-related logo, I've spelled out the details of its goal below.
Note: This is critical. The logo dimensions must be very horizontal. It should be about 740 pixels wide with a height of about 110 pixels. I want it to span the whole page at the top of the site. Once a final logo is selected, I will need art in various formats (full size, a smaller width version, full color, black and white, transparent, white background, orginal file, etc.).
Design Outpost Creative Brief Worksheet
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
HollywoodChicago.com
What type of service do you offer?
Film content.
How long have you been in business?
This site launched on April 12 without a logo.
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
A professional, authoritative and respected look.
What are your long-term goals?
To be a regularly published film freelancer and/or writer.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
April 20.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience.
Film lovers, rabid fans of my interview subjects and friends and colleaugues.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Editors at respected and relevant film publications.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I would like this logo to be professional and authoritative. I don't want this to look like a blog. I want it to look more like a publication.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? If so, why?
Potentially orange (like the orange in the headlines; see here (http://www.hollywoodchicago.com/2007/04/adam-brody-jon-kasdan-interviewed-in.html) for an example).
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
The "Hollywood" font obviously comes to mind. You might want to play with that. Also, the "take one" image comes to mind. I am also very open to you creating your own relevant icon that is totally new and fresh.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
This is a site producing powerful, compelling and highly unique content with Hollywood's biggest stars.
What is your tagline or slogan?
"Humanizing the silver screens."
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
This content is top notch and compelling to a broad audience.
Where will your new logo be used?
On this site, potentially with business cards, potentially with e-mail signatures and potentially on signage and branded items.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
The bazillion sites publishing film-related content.
List competitive URLs.
http://www.hollywoodsnitch.com
What sets you apart from your competitors?
HollywoodChicago.com delves deeper than most film critics by humanizing the stars who make the silver screens possible.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company.
Compelling.
