Admin code added by Abby - 03Y38313HD6473351 , 96N59979KK348382W

1a) Name of Company
Reasonstolove.com

1b)Company Tag Line or slogan:
Love someone or something? Create a free list and tell the world!

1c) Do you have a company logo?
No, but we are looking for something really simple. We can drop in a logo easily at anytime. Or if you have any ideas... The logo will be plain type, nothing fancy. "ReasonstoLove.com/" The ending "/" is to show that you can add to it, etc...

1d) Do you have a corporate visual identity (a customized (non stock) logo and color scheme carried out throughout your office, stationery, business cards, etc.)?
No, this is a blank slate. I want the site to look "web 2.0". We simply need a "look".

1e) What is the nature of your business?: Briefly describe your products or services:
It's a user generated content site that creates free lists of "stuff you love". It is designed to be an Adsense play. In other words, I make money by Adsense ads and people generating lists on the site.

1f) List the things that make your company/product unique.
It's a fun site. Fun to check out, fun to use, to vote, etc... We want it to be fun and easy and nice looking. Modern. Web 2.0 looking.

1g) Who is your target market? Who are you hoping to reach with your site?
Anyone online who loves something :)

Website Details

2a) Do you have an existing website? If so, what is the URL?
http://www.reasonstolove.com

2b) IMPORTANT: Please list at least 3 URLs (web addresses) of high quality sites that you like the look of (these do not have to be sites who’s business is similar to yours. It aids us in determining what your design style is.) Please consider layout, colors, navigation, graphics, and typography.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/
http://www.digg.com/
http://www.eyespot.com/

Web 2.0 looking. Simple more than complex.

2c) What colors or color schemes would you like?
Digg colors are fine, or Stumbleupon.com

2d) List any color that must be used or must be avoided specific for this web site:
None

2e) List the Navigation links for your Site:
Home, Create A List, View All Lists, About Us

2f) What is the single most desired action for a visitor to take while at your website? (e.g. call a phone number, fill out a form, sign up for a mailing list, make a purchase, request a free report, choose your company over a competitor, etc.)
1. To create a list. 2. To browse lists and to vote on reasons in list. 3. To create a list then copy code to their own site to promote their list.

2g) Would you like Flash elements? What are the Flash elements (e.g.: intro, header/banner, menu etc.) that Not necessary.

2h) What type of look are you trying to achieve? (e.g. clean, high-tech, conservative, warm, neutral, gothic, spiritual, artsy, fun, flashy, etc.)
Web 2.0. Clean. More simple than complex.

Deadlines and Deliverables

3a) What is the deadline for the design of your project?
We need the design as soon as possible. We would like to be in the revisions forum within 10 days of this post.

3b) What is required breakdown of the files you require our designers to supply you with on finalization of your project?
We need .psd files.

Note: will let designer keep site credit on bottom of site forever. Site will receive a ton of promotion this summer and on from there.

Hi, this is my concept :D Let me know if it is too simple.

I don't think it's too simple at all. I like the simplicity. I'm struggling with the fonts. Maybe try a serif? Scripty for headers?

Also, can there be more white space? Or just more white? This is a great start.

Yes, that's better. Now after more thought as well I'd like to see the following.

1. Move the "love something, someone or someplace, etc..." below the logo, above the list creation box and make it more centered, bigger.

2. Can we try to make the two lists look a bit different? Right now they're just the same thing with different colors and headlines.

3. Make the green and blue more saturated like the http://www.stumbleupon.com/ logo green/blue?

Let's try those things?

Will with post #6 definitely has the leg up here, although there are things I like about Carl's.

I'd maybe like to see some more really creative ideas? I know I said simple, but I'm wondering what would happen if we tried a bit more "robust"?

Also, I'd like to see some secondary page layouts. For example, a page with this content. http://www.reasonstolove.com/New_York_City

The structure of the page can change no problem. I do want the list creation at the top still, but under that the layout can change.

Something quite special from me :D and hopefully a bit more "robust" :flex:

Looking forward to hear from you,

Brian

Dove, that is special. I really like it. Soft, classy, fun. Can I see a secondary page?

Dovestudio really nailed it. Thanks for all the entries. Let's move into revisions for Dove.

Everyone did a great job, but that last design really just hit it for me.

Thats great! Thanks to you for your appreciation at my entry :D .

1. Which modifications would you like to be done ?
2. Would you like a space for google ad ?
3. You mentioned Note: will let designer keep site credit on bottom of site forever. Site will receive a ton of promotion this summer and on from there.. Does that mean I can put "designed by DoveStudio" near the footer ?

Thanks again, and congrats to other designers as well, practice makes perfect...

1. Here are my revisions.

Home page...

A. get rid of apostrophe in logo "Reason's". On all logos top/bottom too. Both pages.
B. Change "What's your reason" to "What do YOU love?" Make this change on both pages too.
C. Add a submit button "Create list"

Secondary page...

A. On this secondary page, after you add a reason to any list, you get this "badge" code so you can put this on your blog. http://www.reasonstolove.com/frontpage/badge/designoutpost?post_id=218
Look at the preview: I'd like that badge to have the same look as the site design (something that would look nice in someone's blog). Something about 150 wide by 100 high?

B. Come up with a vote icon that lets people easily see that they can vote for a reason? Needs to be integrated next to each reason someplace.

2. Don't worry about the Google Ads.

3. Yes, you can put that below. Small :) I really like your design. Good work.
